It exists, but is extremely limited. And it doesn't create images. They can show you an image and measure whether or not you're thinking about that specific thing after enough mapping of your brain -- sometimes -- but what they're showing in this episode is pure science fiction.
Not as intense as that of a dream. I am sure some can be like that and I can assume those are quite rare unlike voices or seeing creatures/shades/other people. Ever have sleep paralysis? That's a hallucination happening but you at least stop having it once your body wakes up. Honestly couldn't imagine having that all the time while awake. Sounds horrifying not knowing what is real or an image made by your mind that makes you wonder if it is real.
They don't '''delude'' themselves, it's the brain deluding them aka sending the wrong signals or reading it the wrong way. It's also not ''amazing'' to people who suffer from it.

@@boarbro64 ok, so they were physically attracted to each other. It's not something either of them would do in their right mind. I think my health teacher is really attractive, would I ever flirt with him? No. Would I flirt if I was high or drunk? Probably. Now if you wanna judge people based on stuff they did when neither of them were thinking straight and had loosened inhibitions, then you go ahead.
@@winxclubfairiesrule1 She very well could have told him when they got back together. It's not as if they never saw each other again and thus had no reason to bring it up. She sees him and his family God-knows how many times since then and not once does she think it'd be a good idea to tell him of the incident or to get it off her chest, assuming she had even a sliver of guilt over it. I'm not even touching the fact that his own father didn't tell him. Also, I'd like to point out after watching the clip again, the dad states "I was drunk," implying she was sober. So she knowingly screwed her ex's dad, got back together with her ex, proceeded to never tell him despite the fact that she screwed his father. On top, you say "physically attracted" so passively as if that's all there is to it and that they aren't seeing each other on a regular basis via her boyfriend/his son and the fact that she literally has thoughts of him while being examined in this clip. And for the record, people aren't magically unable to control themselves and any of their actions when they're drunk. It doesn't break inhibitions, it loosens them. So long as they're not near pass-out drunk they still have the ability to process what's happening and decide if they want to do it. Considering he can even remember it, that likely means he wasn't at that point. And assuming I'm correct and she was sober, then the point of alcohol's effect on inhibitions is moot anyway and at the very least she's a twat, no matter how you spin it.

I’m being honest when I say as a Brit that I never noticed him ever slip into a British accent, he should of been knighted for how well he could do it and for how long

I like the cinematography showing where House was standing with the dad. He literally became the devil on his shoulder voicing his thought to everyone.
i love seeing observations like this in the comments! adds a whole new layer to the show.
right
its not cinematography

Five minutes into the video before House is in it. I wondered if this was an episode where he was locked up or on vacation.

Not necessarily
Took him less than 50 seconds to destroy a family completely.
Took the dad 15 minutes.
1, 15 minutes is way too generous. 2 it is the father's fault because he needed to reveal that to confirm the diagnosis.
It's his superpower throughout this show, not surprising he would break his records over the course of the series
hey, that's a new record!
Are you implying that the dad only lasted 50 seconds in bed with his son's girlfriend?
“I was drunk” is the worst excuse u can use
Yeah let's teach the bastards how to better lie, that will help
Well at first he said "she was crying" than after that he said "I was drunk." Do you think a drunk man can reasuring/comfort people who was sad ?

Who did House sleep with in this episode to ruin people's lives???

@@BladeEffect I like that even more haha
Technically it was a ruined one, just hidden from the rest.
House just uncovered it.
I wonder what he did next. Living with parents is always a burden, personal opinion, I'd ditch that alcoholic and the cheating hooker and run away with mom from that freakshow.
He didn't ruin anything, that was bad luck that the son went out at that precise time and it was simply not house's job to cover for father, the time for Abby was running out.
A machine that can turn a persons thoughts into images. That's incredible! It's the future.
It exists, but is extremely limited. And it doesn't create images. They can show you an image and measure whether or not you're thinking about that specific thing after enough mapping of your brain -- sometimes -- but what they're showing in this episode is pure science fiction.

I was half expecting to hear the "Doctor Who" theme song in the beginning.
hallucinations are fascinating to me, the idea that someone can just delude themselves into whats basically another dimension. Really amazing.
Not really how this allways works. There are all kinds of hallucinations. Only a few are like that and some are even more amazing
Sometimes it's giant spiders in the corner of an aquarium, other times it's a disembodied voice whispering your name. Hallucinations, man…
Not as intense as that of a dream.
Smoke dmt. That's the best way to experience intense hallucinations that will be over in moments. It's a real mind blower.
They don't '''delude'' themselves, it's the brain deluding them aka sending the wrong signals or reading it the wrong way. Saying ''deluding themselvs'' makes it sound as if people are making themselves believe it - but no, they don't ''convince'' themselves, they actually think they are experiencing it. It's also not ''amazing'' to people who suffer from it.
First minute, girl hallucinates a Black Hole... one of the most awesome things in this universe.
I'm actually kind of jealous :D
Wouldn't be so awesome being sucked into one though.
Wormhole, maybe.
Black hole, nope.

Don't be hallucinations are scary ASF and especially when it seems so realistic
@cak01vej oh my gosh that sounds so scary ! Didn't House, later in the episode, reveal he was lying about the disease?
Different episode, a guy’s wife had an affair and House saved their relationship by falsely diagnosing the wife with a disease that causes a virgin pregnancy. He soon admitted to another doctor (I don’t remember which) that he lied about the diagnosis

This is hands down the coolest hospital ever they've got practically everything a state of the art hospital needs
I was absolutely disgusted by the end of the episode. Gf and bfs dad were such twats.
Well, like the dad said they were broken up and it seems like they were drunk. It wasn't cheating and it's not like either of them were thinking rational
@@winxclubfairiesrule1 Still gross. Especially when she got back together with his son and clearly had no intention of telling him.
Also, "a drunk man's actions are a sober man's thoughts" as they say. Just 'cause they were drunk doesn't mean it was the only time either was thinking of it.
@@boarbro64 ok, so they were physically attracted to each other. It's not something either of them would do in their right mind. And it's not like she ever had a chance to tell him if she even thought to. But, there isn't a reason for her to tell him anyway because they were broken up.
Agreed bad characters some dad doesn’t just Frick up his sons gf ex or not
“All things considered, it’s actually great news.” Damn, the wit and delivery in this show is unmatched.
