I really love old photo's, too. Do you ever think, "wow, all these people have passed away"? I wonder about their families and living relatives. I especially enjoy old photo's of places I grew up.
I was just looking at a yearbook from the late 1800s and having this exact thought, that each one of those students, whose entire lives were ahead of them back then, have now long since passed away. Every single one of them

Before you even showed the handwritten finds, I had already started writing this comment on how much I love to find vintage/antique photos or postcards with writing on them. What I like to do, when I have the time, is to find something with enough information that will allow me to try to find a living descendant of the person photographed or the writer of the postcard. It's worked a few times! I love the research and the challenge of putting a puzzle together, not to mention it is a good feeling knowing how pleasantly surprised someone ends up being. Unfortunately, it seems more often than not that there are no living descendants, which is why these items end up in antique shops to begin with. But that's not always true.
I have a newspaper clipping photo of my mom and several of her siblings in front of their one room school house Their teacher looks to be too young to handle that group of students!!!

Many 70s cocktails are notorious for being terrible. I believe How To Drink did an episode on them. You were braver than I for trying.

I grew up in the 70s , with all that coke and weed people were doing then Im not surprised they came up with some strange shit to drink.
