Sure, we might be a few months late trying the 2022 one but that doesn't stop it being one of the hottest and spiciest things we've tried on his channel! Hoo boy! I tried the chip a while ago myself and it really stings. I don't usually eat spicy but I do eat hot stuff so it was ok.

Here in the Philadelphia area, a CBS newscaster, Jim Donovan, tried the challenge live, and he did it standing. After a few seconds, he started Irish dancing, his face got red and sweat starting flowing. It was fun to watch. At least you guys got to sit down.
I tried this myself. Wasn't too terrible. Burned like hell but the biggest hurdle of the chip is the fact that the powder is HEAVILY caked on the chip so that it latches onto your tongue and does not come off easily. I think it was a good 20 minutes of salivating heavily before it came off enough to stop burning. After that it was a matter of waiting for the burn to mellow out. By the time the hour was up, the burn was more or less gone.

I did the 1 Chip Challenge back in December of 2022. Passed the eating portion with flying colors (although I only did 3 minutes as I did the challenge at work in our breakroom after my shift), as I frequently eat hot and spicy food and use hot green chilies in almost all my cooking. I was feeling good, went home and reheated some leftover pizza to eat.
45 minutes later I was crying, screaming in agony, and vomiting in my shower, as it felt like the chip was trying to gnaw it's way out of me like a creature from a Ridley Scott movie. This lasted almost an hour and I considered going to the hospital. After the excruciating intestinal pain subsided, I drug myself to bed without even drying myself off and passed out for 3 hours.
6/10 would recommend to a friend.

I've learned that the best course of action for dealing with the sting of capsaicin is your histamine blocker of choice (the basic brand in the US is Benadryl, with plenty of generic brands that are just as effective). After dicing habañeros barehanded (an endeavor I wouldn't recommend to anyone), my hands were on fire for the next several *hours*...through the rest of my school day and well into the evening. My parents tried every folk remedy they could find online (including slathering my hands in butter) and generic histamine blockers were our Hail Mary chance...and the relief was nearly immediate.
As someone who loves spicy food, I’ve tried this before and it was insane the amount of heat that chip has. 🤣🤣🤣
Yeah this challenge is brutal. My stomach hurt for about 20 mins from it.
You're lucky to only have suffered that pain for 20 minutes. When I tried it, the entire next day was just crippling pain. Mad props to the Tryers handling it so well.@@chuckybang

I did this challenge and I remember the chips spice being so strong, that I could feel where the chip was throughout it's entire trip through my body. So much so, that I knew when it was getting ready to come out. Out was almost worse than in. Fun experience...
The entire trip out was pure torture, honestly, that was the worst part.
I felt pain in parts of my body I didn't realise I had feeling. I'll never do that bastard chip challenge again.

I could and never would attempt any extreme spice challenges. However, I am somewhat envious and admire the Tryers as they go through this. Eaodinn (sp?) really hit the nail by stating it would be good for therapy. To be able to overcome this thing is amazing and inspiring to watch.
I would love to see the tryers go to a winery or distillery and set up to try the different alcohols available.
I can see them in my minds eye staggering out and face planting.

Paddy should do the next spicy challenge shoot wearing a crown of peppers.
I did this a few months ago. By far the spiciest thing I’ve had in my life, and I’ve had straight up ghost peppers and reapers. The worst part was the stomach cramps that followed. I was literally hurdled over in pain for hours, and the entire next day my stomach felt like it was on fire. 10/10 would recommend 😂
I’ve done the 2021 and 2022 One Chip Challenge, I actually the ordered the 2022 challenge again to test my spicy tolerance lol. The TRYers did well! Paddy is a boss!
The worst part for me was my first trip to the bathroom, and I’m just talking #1. I’ve never had kidney stones, but it felt like I was giving birth to a porcupine holding a Santa sack full of stones!
Done this three times now, personally. I do think the blue dye is contributing to the numbers of people who vomit from it, later on. Is it hot? Starts that way, yes. But it stops being hot, it really shows what unfiltered pure pain, feels like. I'd say this is what pain would feel like without a source of pain.
Did this once will never do it again wqs spicy at first but the worst part was the pain after.

I got my husband to do the gummy bear one and he was on the floor in so much pain. Said he could feel it moving through his body. I was trying so hard to not laugh too hard at him

3:52 I had the opposite feeling. I did this a few months ago, with just my son watching, no camera. Until about 10 minutes, breathing in brought sweet relief, but breathing out brought fiery pain.
I stuck it out until a bit past 18:00, when my stomach (empty) was starting to hurt, and I went for an ice cream sandwich and some milk.
I did the one chip challenge a couple months ago and I lasted over an hour before I drank anything my whole face started vibrating hahaha
