Great closet but one quick SAFETY note. The bookcases need to be anchored to the wall.. there are big anchors in an L shape that account for gaps between wall and furniture so no need to worry about things being flush. otherwise they will tilt over. possibly onto elderly children and so forth.
Yes you should put a curtain over that window, to keep the sun from FADING your colored clothing, & expensive bags & shoes. Slit your blinds, to let in light, but not direct sunlight on your garments. Put the jewelry box away from that window. Retail flash mob, smash & grabs are now targeting homes.
