A tip: When cutting, line up the piece being cut with its reflection in the saw blade, making sure they match. That will insure a vertical, straight cut in the wood.
That's neat, however I use 32tpi hacksaw blades to do this. The blades cut a 1/32" slot so 2 taped together produce a 1/16" slot. Used with a depth gauge it is also very quick. it's a very old idea which i believe I got from the Aeromodeller mag. The trick to getting clean slots/notches is to cut by pulling the blades backwards with very little pressure.
Hi Mark, Well done solution to a common building situation, thank you. Do you have any ideas for notching fuselage formers to accept stringers? Thank again
Hi, thanks for the comment, pleased you enjoyed the video. I have this re stringers which you may find helpful 😀 th-cam.com/video/OkQmBh7nf6Y/w-d-xo.htmlsi=3URI5YBSWATA4GUQ
I brought in a laser cutter into my builds this year, for a one time build, doing it by hand is much, much faster, slightly less accurate, but close enough.
Not a chance, I would have these cut before your CNC was even walmed up! And that is not to mention the time it would take you to programme it. For one off jobs like this its much quicker by hand, certinly you may have the edge if cutting 100!

As always, great advice!
