I also have red cardinals on mine-one of my fave birds & I wrote a book with one on the cover. I love decorating it each year, have hot cocoa with marshmallows, & play Christmas music. I have two cats & they both love laying under it on the soft skirt and under the lights, but also have knocked down decorations at times, lol. I watch them around it (the hooks…ribbons to hang ornaments are better)! There is nice ambience with the fireplace videos (I think Netflix). It’s very soothing & I’ve fallen asleep to it! Nice job! I bet NYC is beautiful at Christmas, especially with the snow. Cute pj’s!

Your tree looks great. If you ever want it to look taller, put it on a box and drape a piece of fabric or a sheet over the box. If you need the box to be sturdier, stack books on floor and place box over the books for a stronger base. I found gnome pillows from Pottery Barn. Easy to store away. Ck it out for gnomes. Burn some scented candles like Thyme Frasier Fir or one of Bath & Body Works Christmas scents and enjoy your December.

how about putting your garland around your mirror - does the tree fit on the stool? do you have a board you could put on top of the stool to carry the tree? why not put your dryer in the office to make more room during the holidays and put your extra placemats on your coffee table.

I haven't put up a Christmas tree in a decade because I have two cats who are 13 and like to get into mischief and being high places if you know what I mean. I put up little touches here and there by the way I'm 411 and my tree is 6 ft 1 😂 I got it at Walmart for $24.98 unboxing day it was originally $200 something with the white lights. So no I'm not getting rid of because I'll use it eventually..

I've had cats and Christmas trees my whole life. Two words. . . fishing line. You can buy invisible fishing line at Home Depot, Dicks, anywhere like that. Take a long piece and tie around the top of your tree and then put it over to the back of the dresser. Put a thumbtack in the back of the dresser and tie the fishing line to the thumb tack. Same thing to the coat rack...fishing line on the tree and all the way to the coat rack. Thumb tack. Repeat. They may play in the tree but it will not fall over. Wahhhlahhh.
Y'know what would be the cherry on the cake? Those colourful LED lights to stick round the back of your tv. I bought some last years from amazon and now my housemates prefer to watch tv in my room. Right, tomorrow's task for me is......decorate!

You could put the tree on top on the stool. Keeps out of the cats way and a bit taller. Drape a sheet or table cloth over the stool to hide it
