I am so incredibly happy to see you back on youtube! You have an amazing voice, my goodness! That was such a treat to witness. Seriously, you are magical. I know this doesn't help a ton, but I'm here to watch anything you put out. I very much enjoy your talkative videos. I like to put them on while doing my makeup 😊. I've also really been liking watching others use their older makeup. I know new stuff will always be more on the trending and the most watched side of TH-cam, but older things (even if not available anymore) are still a fun watch. I love colorful, fun makeup. You create some of the most stunning looks I've ever seen. So even if I didn't have the exact products, I would still try to re-create makeup you've done. Sorry for this long comment, but I wanted to do what I could for your engagement because I love having you here! ❤️
Ahh, thank you so much! I'm so glad you enjoy me carrying on, I am always very self-conscious of how much I talk in my content. Actually, delving through all the makeup in my collection that has been discontinued is a GREAT video idea. Thank you for the long comment - I love seeing those on my videos - and thank you for helping the algo.
I actually don't wear makeup much anymore, but I love your videos. You are so talented! I hope your channel continues to grow because your content deserves it!
So glad to see you back!!! I thoroughly enjoy long form content over doom scrolling 15 seconds at a time. I love just hearing you chit chat while you get ready about life and makeup, your thoughts on products, etc. Your aesthetic is super inspiring and GORGEOUS. I'm not really into mainstream brands at the moment, other than face products, but I'm all over the indie eyeshadows. Some of my favorite brands currently are Unearthly Cosmetics, BellaBeauteBar, Cosmic Brushes and Ensley Reign. Definitely check them out!! Since you love color I'm sure you'll find some treasures there. Congrats on all of your hard work paying off, and showing us that achieving your dreams is certainly possible!! WELCOME BACK!!!! 🖤💚💜
It's so nice to be back! It's been such a warm welcome from everyone, I'm really blown away honestly. You know I love Unearthly (obviously, haha), thank you for the thoughtful recommendations, I have to start writing these down and make a list.
Reviews, tutorials, just fun chat, stories,... I just enjoy your content. Lots of people like your style so do you and people will come. I know I'll be here. Fellow Cdn. ❤🇨🇦
I have enough makeup outside of complexion products so I'm watching videos for color inspiration and ideas of how to make the most of of what I already have. Just pick a pallette Maddie I'm watching new old or nevermore I'm watching. I would love to see your show too don't know how but it would be great to cheer you and your family on.
Thank you for all the love in the comments, especially for Mama Suddz! She deserves the accolades. And thank you, this is truly the crux of a lot of my anxiety about content creation, so I will take these words to heart and just move forward, doing whatever strikes my fancy.
I love colorful, fun, bold and dark makeup :) And I don't care about trendy stuff that much I just do whatever I like to do and i don't care that I'm not good at blending etc I just pack on colors too much blush or highlight :) just continue being me. And loving small awesome indie makeup brands :) Glamghoul Boutique, Wicked Sisters Cosmetics, Widow Witch Lahes, Lux B Aesthetix,HexBaby Beauty,Chaotic Cosmetics, Curst Kosmetics, Wicked Widow Beauty,Bellabeautebar, Salem Cosmetics, Queen Cosmetics, Yva Expressions anime makeuo etc
Colourful, fun, bold, good to hear! Keep doing you, that's awesome! There's a few brands in that list I've never heard of before so I guess it's time to do some research. Thank you!
Nice to see you back again! I enjoy the look you were doing today, and tend to prefer looks that are a little more maxamilist. Would be interested to see an analysis of trends, perhaps from last year or perhaps from a random year with the roll of a dice? For past trends when the world of make-up didn't move so fast, you could do trends popular within a decade. Just a thought, looking forward to more videos ~
Welcome back! Thanks for updating us with such a long video. This was so fun to watch. I really enjoy smaller indie brands. And, I enjoy watching Content Creators using what they have. No pressure over here to always have the new new. I draw inspiration from what you show us. 🤗 Going back talking about trends sound like fun.
I’m so glad you enjoyed it! I was worried at how long it went, but happy to hear it was still entertaining. I love me some indie brands too! I’m sure there are many I haven’t explored. Glad to hear people enjoy watching creators using things already in their collection. ☺️
I just wanted to say - as a gen Z actor - your content is nearly tailor made for me. TH-cam has always been my go-to and TikTok gives me the same fatigue that it seems to give you. Honestly, I feel like short vs. long form content is a similar discussion to streaming platforms vs. theatrical releases in film and TV. each one has their audience, one is not better than the other, and one doesn’t have to “die” for the other to also succeed. Also- hearing you share about the need for a creative outlet sans gatekeeping/judgement is so healing because that’s also a huge reason why I turned to makeup and fashion when I started working as a full time actor. Autonomy is a wonderful thing :D
That is so cool how there really is creators for every kind of person - it reminds me just how huge the internet is. Glad it's not just me who struggles with fatigue, but I had a feeling. And yes! There is room for everyone and everything, people consume in different ways and that's OK. Glad to hear these talking points resonated with other people as well, that means a lot.
So glad to see a new video!! You are one of my favorites!!! I love musical theatre and would love to hear more about that while you do amazing looks. Welcome back!!!
Im so happy to see you post! I figured your job had you on the road which made it difficult to dedicate time to filming and editing. Happy to see you again!!!! ❤❤❤ P.S. gurl, your voice!!! ❤❤❤❤❤ Please post more of your perfomances!!!!!!
I am so happy you're back! As a fellow maximalist makeup girly, I've had the exact voice inside my head for the last year...but I just can't give up my colours. I'm happy to see you staying authentic to your aesthetic. I love the long form vids, and I'm excited to hear your plans for the channel. I think the history of makeup trends is a great idea, I'd watch it for sure!❤
So happy to see you back on here, and your studio is beautiful! Honestly, I think it would be refreshing to see content that isn’t just about the “new new” everything releasing all the time.. at the end of the day I know I just want to see what kind of makeup looks you’re doing because I enjoy your style and artistry and commentary as a whole regardless of what products you use, and if you are using something we can’t get I’m sure we can find alternative versions of the shades you’re using. I think the video ideas you mentioned are fun, like historical/origin run throughs of trends and revisiting brands that once were apex popularity. I would love to hear how KimChi Chic performs too, I see their stuff regularly but have never tried it (someday I will get my hands on that BFF highlighter she did with Trixie because it looks like what dreams are made of). Fall Magic is such a stunning palette.. your look turned out beautifully, Unearthly has been absolutely crushing it. On par with them for me is BellaBeauteBar if you haven’t tried anything from them yet and do get to where you want to try something new, they are amazing. Thank you for sharing your journey with us! 💜✨
Thank you! There will be tweaks but overal I am very happy with the result. I think the instinct I feel to keep purchasing new products stems from an insecurity about my artistry and an uncertainty as to whether or not it's interesting enough to keep viewers engaged without some sort of review of something new and shiny attached to it - that's actually a little revelatory. Hearing a lot of you saying the opposite - that you enjoy my content for the artistry alone - really means a lot and reassures me my artistry is enough, so thank you for that. Thank you for this great feedback. Y'all have been so helpful in these comments, it's insane! I really appreciate you taking the time and effort.
oooh, what a lovely thing to see in my subscriptions! Welcome back! 2023 seems to have been chaotic for everyone! I love your maximalist colours and tutorials and am very excited for new videos! Honestly pallet potential is great, and maybe some more drugstore looks? but really pallet potential is fun and gives me ideas for other combinations that I can dupe with what I have. the 2023 trends & history would be fun as well Okay, edit to add more responses to qs: I mostly just use drugstore makeup, nyx pallets, physicians formula (Butter pallet you recommended forever ago), trying to find a good foundation for my sensitive skin, and a random pallet a friend got me 2 years ago, and then probably cheekbone and besame lipstick still but I know you are a gloss/liquid lip person
Oh my Goodness Maddie!!!! I loved your for your blending but You Sang the dog on thang!!!! I didn't know that until today. You are freaking fierce!!!!!❤
I missed you and your content! I am overjoyed to hear about your life’s “busy”s and “quiet”s~ always listen to your body and mind 💙 For feedback: I hope you continue to do your empties and palette reviews, but maybe venturing into Indigenous, POC beauty products would be cool!
I missed being here too! Thank you for the reassurance. Empties might come back! It's hard to hoard them in a small space, but I might start again. Yes, agreed - I really want to get my hands on some Cheekbone Beauty sometime! Also I should re-explore some POC brands I have in my collection for another Shop My Stash. Danessa is a fave, along with Pat McGrath, but I also have a palette from Ace Beaute I should pull out again.
Happy to see you back! Some makeup creators will do shorts of makeup looks which could be fun just a condensed version of long form, to keep up with that side of socials. I personally love long form chatty makeup videos tho❤
Me too! But I agree, I think shorts have to become a part of my social media presence. So far I'm just uploading them on insta since they have a longer time limit - mine still are approx. 4 minutes long - I have one in the works as a companion to the latest upload, so we'll see how those continue to be received.
Yay you’re back!! Can’t wait to catch up on the content! Thanks for coming back and just being you! I don’t have much to say as to what content I want from you except that I’m excited for what you do post! I’m all for it, ALL OF IT! Thanks for being beautiful and so very open. You are amazing! ❤
Omg I was so overcome with joy at seeing a new video up!! I am so happy to see you on my feed again. Although it has been so long it was nice seeing the amazing things you have been doing and how happy you were with the shows you were in. Sometimes we all have to pivot a bit for situations and opportunities. I have been so out of love with TikTok personally, i barely post on there as the whole aspect of it all just doesn’t feel like me. I still really enjoy watching long format youtube videos best and that is where I am happiest getting my fill of makeup content. Even for my own content my YT channel is where I am most driven to post. I loved the palette potential videos and would love to see those again. I think your idea of exploring the trends sounds super cool too. Essentially I say do whatever will inspire you as that is the content that you will feel good about posting. Glad to see you back 🥰
Hi mama! Nice to see you in the comments! I've missed chatting here with everyone. It's always so reassuring to hear how patient y'all are with my absences. Honestly I think some creators are just built for the TikTok medium, and some aren't, and that's OK. Glad others still enjoy long form content! I'll do my best to stay inspired and driven. Thank you for being here!
Maybe following trend of make up content would be good for the algorithm and maybe it's worth a try. but honestly, there are people that like what you do, and your unique style. It's kind of refreshing. I am glad you are back
I really appreciate hearing this, thank you. I feel a lot of pressure (as most creators do, I am sure) to keep up with current makeup trends, but this is reassuring.
Wow! I need a nap just hearing how busy you've been!! 😅 I'm so happy that you've been busy with work. Love musicals!! Can't wait for you to get out to Ottawa one year to perform, I will definitely be there! Love hearing about that part of your life. Content wise, I am not a fan of tik tok. I don't need to see all the latest products. There are so many products out there. And so much gets forgotten because everyone is all about what's next.
Haha, I need a nap too! A months-long nap. 😴 I hope to get out to other provinces for contracts! Ottawa would be fun. I’m definitely thinking of doing a “discontinued products in my collection” video after all the lovely feedback in the comments. Sounds like people would enjoy something like that!
I'll be 40 in a minute, which I think makes me an official Old. I technically have an instagram that I've never posted on and often forget about, and that is basically it for social media, so I'm totally happy for any content you want to put here. Also, while I've seen and then purchased things you've shown on the channel, my makeup collection is kind of absurd, tbh, and very colorful, so I don't mind if I don't have the exact product you're using. I can usually get close enough with what I have. I really love the palette potential videos - I'm not bad at the application part of makeup but I'm so uncreative that I end up doing the same couple of looks all the time and getting super bored, so I love seeing combos I might never have expected and being inspired. Also, I'm a straight up ho for blush, so is it any wonder I love your channel? :D
I am truly in awe of the folks who can multitask with posting on multiple platforms - it's truly a skill I never fully developed, and that's OK! And absolutely, at this point you could dupe so many releases these days with what you already have, which I think is a good thing to practice. I'll definitely keep up Palette Potential - it seems to be the general consensus from multiple subscribers that it's a series people enjoy, which is nice to hear! Blush h0e$ for life.
You have no idea how amazing it is to hear from you my friend! I say that as if I haven't checked in with you on Insta semi often but it's so nice to hear your voice and hear how you're doing now. I'm so proud of you for your incredible stage work in 2023, the clips you shared are just phenomenal, you really do have the most amazing voice. I really like the new studio! I'm glad you and Dan were able to work out how to make the space work for you both and I'm so excited to see the new content you make in this space! As for what I'd love to see that content be, I'd always be down to see Palette Potential make a comeback, especially given that there's probably been a lot of new palettes since the last one as well as palettes you already have that haven't been spotlighted! This might just be me, but I'd also love to see you make videos trying out different kinds of aesthetics, especially using drag queens styles and trying to emulate them. You did Trixie before but there are so many unique mugs to explore now, Dawn from the current drag race series comes to mind as her make up is very elf like/fantasy/ethereal and I'd love to see how you'd recreate it in your own way. I'll stop typing now as this comment is getting long but I just want to reiterate how happy I am to hear from you and I can't wait for what's coming down the pipeline. Thanks for a lovely video and as always I'll see you in the next one. Hugs and love from England, friend 💛💚💛💚
Hi, friend! So nice to see you here. Coming from a singer that is mighty high praise, so thank you very much! The new studio is working nicely! Still want to finesse things a bit but overall pleased with how it looks on camera. I should do a room tour for y'all and show how we made it work for both of us. Palette Potential will most likely make a comeback, since I still have a palette or two that hasn't had the treatment yet. And yes... lots of releases to catch up on. I'm intimidated to get back into new product but we'll do some digging. I was JUST hemming and hawing over potential drag recreation videos again! I'd love to try my hand at Dawn's look, that paint is just SO NICE. Also Morphine obviously but that might just be down to bone structure and genetic/cosmetic blessings, haha. Thank you for being here, and for all the love and support. Hope all is well with you too. Hugs and love from Canada!
30:53 I use drug store for anything face and buy all my eyeshadow from indie brands. Unearthly, plouise (I know the owner has some controversies but their eyeshadow is sooo good and their obnoxious packing just does something for me) and GlamLite are my fav eyeshadow formulas. I can make almost any face product work for me but I’m very picky with eyeshadow since it is my favorite part of doing my makeup. I have over 100 eyeshadow palettes but only have roughly 2 foundations one powder one liquid, 3 concealers the 1 I’m currently using 1 is my backup and the other I use for eyeshadow base, 2 setting powders, 3 bronzers, about 20 blushes, 30 lip products, 10 ish mini mascaras 10 ish highlighters and 1 brow gel. I wear makeup almost everyday and my makeup time is my happy place and I only want makeup that makes me happy from how it looks to how easy it is to work with.
Listen, we are all crows who love shiny things, obnoxious packaging is just a subset of that, lol. Sounds like an excellent collection! Love that it's your happy place.
So I'm a month late to you coming back 😅 I'll echo what other people have been saying in that I find short-form content exhausting. I'm a slow learner and I usually can't learn how to do a makeup look by watching a 30 second clip. Also, I have totally filled my space that I've allotted for myself for makeup. So I am no longer watching "review" or "haul" videos. I've found that with how good eyeshadow formulas are now, reviews come down to personal preference anyway. I can see for myself whether I vibe with the color story and packaging without a review telling me that it's great or not. As far as my makeup preferences, it's pretty much all indie brands except for primer, foundation, and mascara. Robert Welsh puts in the research on whether to support a brand so that I don't have to. Sephora's website, app, and storefront are so outdated and frustrating that I'd rather but directly from the brand if they aren't sold at Ulta. When I do buy makeup, it's either directly from an indie brand or when Ulta has a deal so good that I can't pass it up. What I like about your videos is your creativity, charisma, talent, and the interesting tidbits about your life that you choose to share. It does not matter to me whether you're playing with a palette that is going to be released soon or a palette that was discontinued years ago. If there is one thing that I can request, it would be a deep dive into eyeshadow primer formulas and application techniques. As well as the kinds of looks/eyeshadow formulas that play best with different eye primers.
Hahah it's ok I was 8 months late getting back so you're good, lol. Yes, learning from short form content is harder! I find myself watching several times before I glean anything useful from a short. I also tend to avoid haul videos these days out of fear for having a case of the "I Want"s. Yes, so great to buy direct! If I lived in the States I'd probably also buy more from indie brands directly. In Canada we don't have as many options for duty-free delivery on things, so Sephora can sometimes be our only lifeline, lol. Thank you for the thoughtful feedback, I really appreciate it!
I feel like there's so much to say, so I gotta CONDENSE!! First of all, CONGRATS on your shows and your upcoming work as well; you're doing so so amazing! Getting to decorate a new shared space with someone is so much work but also SO rewarding; I'm so glad that you were able to finish the new studio. And also ofc rest is ok!!!!! (Also frfr I worked retail over the holidays this year again too and I would not wish it on anyone.) As someone who has like...very intimate experience with feeling way too behind on important projects, to the point of....still having a lot to unpack about it all, ha, it's a hard thing because ofc the reason you feel bad is because you care deeply, but I think there are also times where you just need a respite so bad that it happens without you meaning to, and that is ok!!! You're doing fantastic just as you are, whether or not you're creating everything you want to create. And that need to create will still be there for you, when you have the energy to work on extra projects again. Anyway!! I could talk for way too long about this and probably just sound very sappy and extra. I also usually truly do not have the patience for short form content (unless it is tattoos? Show me any and every tattoo reel); I totally agree that youtube still has a shitton to offer.
(Also fr I am the worst makeup consumer, like I love it, I love watching other people be good at doing theirs, do my version of a full face for every workday, but I've been getting a weird satisfaction out of trying to pan everything I own and not really needing to buy anything new for a long time. I did buy a new Laura Mercier translucent setting powder recently [I stg it is so markedly better from every other powder I've used, and I'm so oily I really need it], and also...the colourpop Naruto palette? I didn't even watch Naruto; I was just so taken with the concept lol@me.)
This whole essay got me together on every level. I MISSED your comments so much, it's actually emotional to get a multi-paragraph response from you, I am a little misty about it ;3; Thank you for being a voice of reason and also reminding me that rest is OK - and it's so true; it sneaks up on you when you're not expecting it, then BOOM it's March, like wth??? Thank you for the grace, and I obviously give you the same energy back for whatever you are experiencing right now. It's so much easier to hold it for others than for yourself. Also the urge to pan products is a really healthy one! I admire Project Pan-ers, though I will most likely never be one, especially when it comes to palettes. Base products, sure, absolutely, I will finish a foundation or loose powder regularly, but at this point I almost view palettes as little artefacts or historical markers in my life - like a little makeup art gallery - that they become things I instinctively preserve. But I applaud you for your panning efforts! After all these years why have I never used the Laura Mercier setting powder??? Wild, I will have to at least try it one day. Brb going to the Colourpop website to see what shenanigans they are up to (NARUTO?!?! That is wiiiiiiiiiild).
Your welcome. I really enjoyed the update & the singing, WoW. I'm pretty much subscribed when you had a well-deserved break. You really keep life rolling fast paced. 😊
I appreciate reviews of products but what I come back to your content for is your makeup looks and your chatting about your life.
That is some really constructive feedback (not sarcasm, genuinely), thank you!

"I'm not a quitter! I'm a procrastinator, but I'm not a quitter!" 😂 That line was very well delivered and is my new life motto.
I’m glad that line resonated with others 😂
I actually don't wear makeup much anymore, but I love your videos. You are so talented! I hope your channel continues to grow because your content deserves it!
Thank you! I'm glad people who don't even wear makeup still watch and enjoy.
Omg it was so cool to see your life pics and behind-the-scenes of your shows!
Thank you! I'm glad it was received well.

it's great to see you back. and don't worry, as a gen z person myself, i still definitely love long-form maximallist makeup videos❤
Thank you, great to be back! I appreciate the reassurance. 🥰
And yes please, an analysis of trend is very interesting !
Good to hear!

Random year with a dice roll is a GREAT idea. Writing that one down. Thank youuuu.
Welcome back! Thanks for updating us with such a long video. This was so fun to watch.

Hi Liz! Nice to see you, missed chatting with y'all in the comments.
I’d been thinking about you wondering how you were doing, I’m glad you’re okay!❤ We welcome you back with open arms!
Yes, I'm ok! Sorry if I worried people. Thank you for being here!
Wait what?!?!?! I was just wondering about you this weekend!!!! So good to see you! ❤
And just so you know, it was in the context of “ambient blush.” 😘
Hahaha I love there's an almost Pavlovian response for my viewers when they hear "blush" - my evil plan is working.
So glad to see a new video!! You are one of my favorites!!! I love musical theatre and would love to hear more about that while you do amazing looks. Welcome back!!!
Thank you so much!! That means a lot. I'll try to find more places pepper in my musical theatre stories.
Hiii!! 😊❤🎉 Great to see a new post from you!
Hi hi hi!!! Thank you, it's really nice to be back!
Im so happy to see you post! I figured your job had you on the road which made it difficult to dedicate time to filming and editing.
Happy to see you again!!!! ❤❤❤
P.S. gurl, your voice!!! ❤❤❤❤❤ Please post more of your perfomances!!!!!!
Happy to post again! Also happy to see so many peeps in the comments today, thank you.
Yes! I’m glad more people still want colour in their makeup aesthetic. Thank you for the feedback! I’ll ruminate more on that series idea. ❤️
Love and hugs to Daniel and your MOM!!!! They love you and we get to benefit! Doing the Snoopy dance!
Sooo happy to see you back!
Thank you!!! So happy to be back.
I am so glad you are back. I love hearing you talk about anything and doing your makeup.
Thank you! It's been such a warm welcome back, I am very excited to make some more content for y'all.
oooh, what a lovely thing to see in my subscriptions! Welcome back! 2023 seems to have been chaotic for everyone! I love your maximalist colours and tutorials and am very excited for new videos! Honestly pallet potential is great, and maybe some more drugstore looks? but really pallet potential is fun and gives me ideas for other combinations that I can dupe with what I have. the 2023 trends & history would be fun as well
Okay, edit to add more responses to qs: I mostly just use drugstore makeup, nyx pallets, physicians formula (Butter pallet you recommended forever ago), trying to find a good foundation for my sensitive skin, and a random pallet a friend got me 2 years ago, and then probably cheekbone and besame lipstick still but I know you are a gloss/liquid lip person
Hello! Yes, I'm sure I'm not the only one who has 2023 fatigue.
Oh my Goodness Maddie!!!! I loved your for your blending but You Sang the dog on thang!!!! I didn't know that until today. You are freaking fierce!!!!!❤
I'm very happy your back. ❤
Thank you! Very happy to be back.
I missed you and your content! I am overjoyed to hear about your life’s “busy”s and “quiet”s~ always listen to your body and mind 💙
For feedback: I hope you continue to do your empties and palette reviews, but maybe venturing into Indigenous, POC beauty products would be cool!
Awh, this is so sweet. Thank you so much for being here through it all and for coming back! ❤️❤️❤️
🎉welcome back to TH-cam, you were missed. That's so cool you recorded an audio book!
😘 bottom lashes
BOTTOM LASHES. And you were dubious...
Congratulations on your new space as well!! I wish you get to make so many beautiful memories there. ❤
So glad to have you back 💕 would love to see a look with the serenity palette
It's about time I pull that one out eh?! Been sitting in my collection long enough, haha.
Yes, I love your palette potential videos!
Awesome! Will keep that going then.
Heeyyyyy!!!❤
You were Audrey II?! That is so very cool!
It was VERY cool! That opportunity was just the coolest and I felt very cool doing it.
Omg you're back!!
Yeah!!! Trying to be at least!
So I'm a month late to you coming back 😅
I'll echo what other people have been saying in that I find short-form content exhausting.
You said "collage wall" and I emerged from the primordial soup like unicellular organism.
(I'm a huge poster/collage wall fan; I just keep adding and rearranging the longer I occupy a space.)
This whole essay got me together on every level. I MISSED your comments so much, it's actually emotional to get a multi-paragraph response from you, I am a little misty about it ;3;
Thank you for being a voice of reason and also reminding me that rest is OK - and it's so true; it sneaks up on you when you're not expecting it, then BOOM it's March, like wth???
💗💗💗
Thank you! ❤️❤️❤️
💚💚💚
Thank you!!
Your welcome. I really enjoyed the update & the singing, WoW. I'm pretty much subscribed when you had a well-deserved break. You really keep life rolling fast paced. 😊
hi mum
Hahahahahaha, hi!!!
😍🤩
i missed that weird little intro nymph
She's what I look like on the inside, haha.
Makeup TH-cam has been overall very uninteresting. Your videos were missed!
I’m glad to hear I was missed!
