I totally agree with you on going to sketchy countries. Who wants to get beaten up, get sick or walk for miles. Plus you have money exchange and language barriers to think about. Keep traveling to your favorite spots. Great show! Stay safe! ✌️

I tried repeatedly to convince my friends and family that traveling full-time can be very stressful but none of them ever believed me. Yes, it's also exciting, fascinating and a ton of fun but it's also damn hard at times. I traveled off and on from 1987 to 2001 (for a total of more than 7 years outside the States) and was traveling much more basically than you do (probably more like you did when you first started) and my daily budget was $10-$15. I stayed in hostels, cheap hotels ($1-$2 per night in India), stayed in people's homes when I could, did a LOT of hitchhiking, otherwise rode all local transportation crammed in the locals (and their pigs, goats, ducks and chickens) and in general lived as much like a local as I could. I've been to 75 countries (although I could inflate that if I wanted to for things like Yugoslavia which is now 6 countries) and definitely concentrated on third-world type countries because they were cheaper and more interesting. I can highly recommend Southern and Eastern Africa and easily stayed within my budget there but if you want to stay in nice hotels, yeah, it's going to be more expensive. My favorite countries there were Lesotho, Mozambique, Malawi, Namibia, Tanzania (especially doing a safari to the Serengeti and Ngorongoro Crater) and Uganda. South America is also great. Also, you really should consider going to Mount Athos the next time you're in Greece (it's the closest I've come to feeling like I stepped through a time portal). That's enough rambling from me but keep up the good work; I love watching your videos.
Hi Gabe, just a few suggestions for new places for you when you visit Nepal next: 1) Rara Lake 2) Illam 3)Tansen, Palpa 4) Far west Nepal 5) Eastern Nepal Nepal has a lot to offer beyond Kathmandu, Pokhara, and trekking in himalayas. I hope you do explore those places too in the future.
I agree with you about going where you want to go and where you can figure out how to get around and enjoy it. When you throw in a new place, that is just a bonus.
I'm hoping to get to Argentina in October, but I won't have time to get far out of Buenos Aires, unfortunately. Craig the Gabriel Traveler fan doing badly right now, but not for long. It's great fun to keep up with you through the filming. Yeah! Greece rocks:) you enjoy the swimming. Then again the differing temperature of the next destinations, you found remarkable. Is tent camping something nostalgic to you that a newbie could see how to do again? Obviously 5* hotel is most fun if a person is able to out slick the slick. Watching you stay on the right track is great! Have a happy family time. Thanks Gabriel.
22:08 that’s simply not true, though. African countries, such as Kenya for example, do have bus systems everywhere (from regular seats upto VIP seats which offer more space and comfort upfront). Also, the US/Dollar currencies stretch far more than other currencies in Africa. Hmm. Come on Gabriel!
People are as different as stars in the sky; but people are often scared to let those differences show. That applies to virtually every aspect of life - including travel. I believe that is one of the many causes of over-tourism - people feel like they "should" go to the places that everyone else does. Gabe strikes me as someone who isn't afraid to make unique individual choices about where and how he chooses to explore. That's awesome, and that's what makes the journey so interesting to all of us. Whatever the next adventure is - I'm confident it'll be the right one!
Yes great to hear these walking talking videos. Always good to watch the background wherever you are. Very interesting to hear your travel talk. Thanks. Can’t believe this what California looks like. It’s not unlike a walk in Ireland with the damp looking path and greenery. The buds on the trees looks like your Spring maybe 4-6 weeks ahead of UK.

love your Channel Gabe. I love all the places you go. When in Europe I love you you visit smaller towns over larger cities. More and more I feel the larger cities are looking more and more alike. Smaller towns seem more authentic.
I really love your India videos. I discovered you about 6 or 7 years ago while I was looking for videos of Delhi and have stuck with you ever since, you're by far my favourite travel youtuber. Your most recent trip through india was epic. My all time favourite series of videos of yours was when you did the Langtang trek in Nepal in 2019.
I can't wait to get traveling again was in Spain for new year and not away until mid march seems like a lifetime of a wait. Your channel is solid as most people can see you are doing it for your passion and not for clicks/likes
You have such an inquisitive mind. With that trait, every destination is interesting. I do have preferences of course, but as long as I learn (and I always do), it’s good for me. I love when you withhold and give hints. 😂 It’s fun to try to guess, be surprised and see what happens.
Great video Gabe and really interesting to understand your thought process Go with your heart without over doing it. Sadly as we get older, things are naturally not as easy as they used to be irrespective of how fit we are. I've said before to you, how much you have inspired me. I was 60, 2 weeks ago, yet on Tuesday next week, I set off on my first ever backpacking adventure around North and North East India thanks to your videos. Am I excited, you bet. Am I scared? You bet, esp around the tavel aspect, but unless I give it a go, I'll never know. Keep on inspiring and looking forward to following your next adventure. Safe travels
Wow Mike. I am 62 and REALLY admire your courage. I've been following Gabe for years and my favorite vids of his hands down are India. If I had one place I would travel to it would be India. Just to be immersed in such a different environment has to be mind blowing. I've traveled around Europe, and it's beautiful and everything, but the xperience can't come close to being in India. Have fun and stay safe. Coleen
Thanks Coleen I really appreciate that. It was Gabe as well that inspired me to start my own little channel. I'm not a TH-camr by any means, just someone who likes to document as a permanent record, where I go & possibly inspire others of a similar age where they could travel to. I've wanted to go to India for as long as I can remember, but watching all of Gabes videos (not just India) encouraged me to do it. I've included Mcleod Ganj, the Triund trek and Darjeeling in my trip thanks to his videos. I'd never thought of going there before. Gabe has a great style of vlogging, which really makes you think you are there with him and I'm sure I'll get a good few reminders of what I've seen on his videos when Im there Thanks again and all the best
I've always wondered how you have the physical and mental strength to travel so much 🤔. I couldn't do what you do, which is why I love watching your channel, I DON'T need to worry about the stress of traveling.
Hi Gabriel, there's no doubt there is a comfort factor in visiting places you have already been too along with seeing other area's of the country which can be interesting to see. My contention is just exploring something new if possible that you still have a positive outlook about traveling as much as you have says something a real passion with applied experience that has been embraced by viewers all over the world which says something they love your content. You have left an indelible mark on anyone who has seen your videos forever.
You Wilfredo are very active commentator here, probably the most active. Seems like you cannot watch a video without leaving a comment, always got something to say and in the comments
My friend trust me, I was very skeptical to go to Africa at the beginning as well for the same reasons, then I went to Tanzania and I met the friendliest people ever, you can go to Zanzibar and enjoy the amazing Indian Ocean, or go hiking to mt Kilimangiaro, I will never forget the kindness of the African people, and the culture is amazing, in fact I am programming to go back and explore the coast of Kenya, and it is not expensive you can rent an apartment on Airbnb or go to a guesthouse easily, trust me you won’t regret it, start with Tanzania!
Interesting video. Because this was exactly my question. Do you travel to keep the viewers entertained or do you travel just for yourself. Here's a thought though, if you ignore the viewers too much and keep repeating countries because it's what you want to do then they get bored and potentially start to drop off which in turn must affect your income? But at the end of the day it's the viewers paying for everything so surely they should be your top priority? Is it not a valid point?
I'm in Kandy Sri Lanka, your recent trip to Sri Lanka inspired me to tour it. My wife is from India so I've been there about 10 times. You opened my eyes to how different it is and I really am enjoying my stay. I like the Budist culture. I came this way because my mother in law is not well. I made my decision to visit Sri Lanka vs India for one reason. I get so annoyed by all of the horn honking in India.
Totally agree with you. It's exhausting travelling place to place. Ive been travelling to Nepal for 30 years and still go back trek the same trek I've done previously. India next and I might fall in love with it, thanks for all the videos on india. Looking forward to Rajasthan, Ladakh, Kerala, and the Western Ghats. Visas are the defining issue, the indian visa is a generous for US, and UK citizens and allows us the explore for longer. I love watching what you are up to in your daily life, I think too many new travel youtuber’s are racing around trying to do more and more, faster and faster, as you know, just as in hiking in Nepal, you never really experience the journey unless you go a bit slower and soak it all up. It's that what draws viewers in. Ilove watching your videos and the countries you go to suit my budget and tastes. Mongolia has been on my wish list so might have to spend a few months there. India first Or maybe Nepal... again.. Lol
I wold imagine there are many variables that must be considered when planning an itinerary. Traveling full time and filming, editing , uploading videos must be exhausting at some point. I give you so much credit - and truly appreciate your work. Thank You!
Ukiah seems to me a place for wonderful relaxation and calming of the soul, the walk was very pleasant. We like to watch your videos,we see the world through your eyes at a given moment, and we look into places where we cannot get to.Thank you for that.❤
Every day I come from work and check to see if you posted anything and when you don't, I feel like something is missing all day, your videos takes me on journeys to places most likely I will never see ,, God bless you keep it up,, you sure are a unique traveler 😊❤🙏😎
Hi Gabe we really love your show we watch you all time, excited to see where your travels take you next. Is it possible to go to death valley to see the new lake that has formed there?
Gabriel whereever you go your travels are beautiful❤in Atakama or Yemen😊in Greenland or El Nido😊We love you😊you are friendly with people everywhere❤people adore you😊SYMPLY THE BEST🥇
How much extra would it cost to spend a month traveling around south america so your viewers could see your perspective on new countries? Are you not visiting South america due to cost?
Most of South America is pretty inexpensive, so no, that isn't why. The only reason is I just decided to go to other places. But I spent three months there in 2015 and had a great trip: th-cam.com/video/-RDv7O4aGHM/w-d-xo.html
Great video. If you do go back to Nepal I would be super interested to know how the new guide system works. I heard that you still dont need a guide in Everest district, but in Annapurna you do. For me having to hire a guide ruins the whole thing😢
I would definitely recommend Chitwan. I entered Nepal overland from India so I stopped there for 3 days. It was amazing!! I saw several rhinos while walking thru the jungle plus several other animals. Also got to play with a one month old elephant at the rehab facility!! Best day ever. Happy Travels
You could start a mission to create a bunch of gabies to video multiple locations at once. I think it takes about 18 years to get that option spun up however
I travel to the same areas for pretty much the same reason...except I would add the islands of the South Pacific to the list of easier countries to travel.
Hi Gabriel, is there a reason why you don’t use airbnb when you pick a place to travel to? I am curious to hear your thoughts. Thank you for all you do🙏
My thoughts on why that might be would be that there's less to worry about when booking a hotel, no need to arrange how you're getting the keys or whatever, and no issues if you need to leave a day or two earlier or later, generally speaking - the way that Gabriel travels tends to be a bit less structured, so more suited to getting hotels. Besides, if he booked AirBnBs we'd probably end up getting less food shots at the end of the videos, and we can't have that.
Being a full time youtuber I believe that you also choose places based on the content you can make there. That’s why for example India>>> Mongolia or Zambia or Malawi or whatever other country which might be interesting to visit, but not very captivating in terms of content. India has a potential 1.2billion audience interested in watching videos of a westerner in their country. That’s a massive opportunity
Namibia has the geography and feel of the Australian Outback, and considering there are so many B&B's and restaurants there run by European's it almost doesn't seem like it's even in Africa. Even the little of Windhoek I saw it was clean and looked pretty nice, there are also some pretty cool dune hikes and parts of the Skeleton Coast that are just overrun with seals as far as you can see. I saw a huge park that was full of nothing but seals.
Gabriel, there’s a budget for everyone in Africa. How do you think locals travel and holiday on local salary? Please don’t let anyone put you off. Start with South Africa and work your way up to Namibia, Botswana, Zambia, Malawi, Tanzania… but in your own time ❤
The Travel Century Club list could be interesting for you. It counts unrecognised territories and places distinct from the mainland like Madeira and Sicily
If I counted various territories and disputed countries that would increase my country count a lot: Kosovo, Taiwan, Northern Cyprus, Kashmir, US Virgin Islands, Aruba, Bonaire, Curacao, etc.
As much as I love your travels all over the world, I still love these simple bush walks with you just chatting. I find them really relaxing.
Cool, glad to hear it. More coming.
I second this.
Alright, alright, alright...my wife and I love it when you say that! Keep keepin-on. Don't make drastic changes. Whatever your decision, we are cool with it. You always keep it interesting! 🕺

India first Or maybe Nepal... again.. Lol
Go to communist China Suzy 😊
I wold imagine there are many variables that must be considered when planning an itinerary. Traveling full time and filming, editing , uploading videos must be exhausting at some point. I give you so much credit - and truly appreciate your work. Thank You!
Loved it when you said you only go to places that have interesting culture. ❤❤❤
New place or old, you always make your videos interesting.
Ukiah seems to me a place for wonderful relaxation and calming of the soul, the walk was very pleasant. We like to watch your videos,we see the world through your eyes at a given moment, and we look into places where we cannot get to.Thank you for that.❤
You can always just meet me in Rio de Janeiro next month for some fun in the sun🙌🏽
I think your internet channel is better than published travel information, as information goes out of date so quickly.
Great approach, Gabriel! Safe travels!
I think you have to travel to the places you enjoy, because if you enjoy, we also enjoy it.
Id love to see a video of you visiting puri India.
Every day I come from work and check to see if you posted anything and when you don't, I feel like something is missing all day, your videos takes me on journeys to places most likely I will never see ,, God bless you keep it up,, you sure are a unique traveler 😊❤🙏😎
love it, can't wait for the next one!
I Need that sweater you have!!!!
Hi Gabe we really love your show we watch you all time, excited to see where your travels take you next. Is it possible to go to death valley to see the new lake that has formed there?
congrats to 600k fam
Gabriel you signed off with statement (Happy Trails) The cowboy Roy Rogers and Dale Evans used that ending their TV show everytime.
Very interesting video!

@@GabrielTravelerVideos That was nine years ago. You have changed and the video technology has changed for the better. Go to South America.
Great CLIPS! What are YOU using to Record with? It's Crystal Clear both Visually and Audio!!
I hear ya about the traveling lifestyle. Full time travel would be very tiring. Love the shirt by the way!😀👍
11:35 5 days was too much! I spent 3.5 years there lol
Hi Gabriel, I hope you go Africa! I feel Souther & Northen Africa Have beautiful Landscape & Safety !!!
You should go to Gibraltar! From there explore more of Northern Africa!
You could start a mission to create a bunch of gabies to video multiple locations at once. I think it takes about 18 years to get that option spun up however
Great vid, Gabe
Playa Del Carmen, MX. What’s your camera/gimbal setup?
DJI Osmo Action, there's a link in the description. Mexico is a good option, maybe somewhere else that I haven't been before.
Safe travels
I travel to the same areas for pretty much the same reason...except I would add the islands of the South Pacific to the list of easier countries to travel.
Hi Gabriel, is there a reason why you don’t use airbnb when you pick a place to travel to? I am curious to hear your thoughts. Thank you for all you do🙏
I've wondered about that, too.
@christinelamb1167 hi Chris
The next time I get the question why I go where I go I will send a link to this video. So many factors decides.
That’s a massive opportunity
lets go 600K subs!
I hope you go to Peru soon.
Gabriel - What about the '' World Famous '' ( WEST COAST TRAIL ) on Vancouver Island B C Canada.
Sounds amazing, but probably better to do it in summer.
Maybe see how you can reach coutrie numer 100 as straight forward as possible, next year :)
Please do an EBC Trek
Don’t need anything new - just go to nice places and have fun
@@GabrielTravelerVideos Indeed yes quite a numbers boost 😃 Quite an interesting list (and club)
