Here's a bit of history on this crazy journey: Last Friday I made the first 3 flights on my first ever turbine-powered RC jet!!! w00t This is quite the 'dream come true' for me... it's taken many years to get there, but now I've officially become a pathological kero junkie in addition to being an already well established EDF nutjob, hahaha... The jet is a CARF Models EUROSPORT that I bought second hand from a friend (actually I'm the 4th owner), and upgraded the engine to a Jets Munt M210TS (from a former 160N engine), added a thrust vectoring nozzle and Cortex Pro gyro, changed the radio gear to a triple-redundant Jeti setup and replaced all servos by Savöx and Promodeler shiny things to run a high voltage setup. Since getting into kero is kinda expensive and the usual approach involves starting with a trainer to later move on to more complex birds, which makes the entry costs further steep, the whole idea didn't quite appeal to me... or rather it did, but not so much to my wallet, haha! :') That being the case, for a long time I didn't even consider it... but at some point I began to fantasize with the idea of MAYBE (and just maybe) entering this rabbit hole of perdition if I could source a fairly priced Eurosport, because it's a rather simple model (single engine, few servos, reliable eletric retracts, no gear doors, no pneumatic systems, etc) that should keep things 'sane' and reasonable, more so being the Eurofighter a design I am very versed into and absolutely familiar with from my previous foam EDFs' experience. The Eurosport also checked several boxes by having a proper fighter jet appearance that could serve both as a trainer, a scale jet and a 3D monster sex machine, should I choose to install a thrust vectoring nozzle... ( : Turns out, one evening at the club, a friend asked (half-serious half-jokingly) if anyone wanted a cheap Eurosport... My ears suddenly grew a few centimeters wider and my eyes engaged like a homing device tracked on a juicy target just as a heatseeker would while darting after a hot afterburning ass! I quickly told him I might be interested... and this thing led to that, and that led to the following, and before we even knew, the seed had been planted. Not long after we struck a deal, which got totally settled in stone the moment we established that the jet did actually fit into my car's trunk. That was like 3 years ago, and plenty of stuff has happened since then that sort of delayed the start of the refurbishing project. In the end I pretty much replaced all the servos and most of the wiring, had to perform quite some surgery to fit in the larger thrust tube required for the larger engine and run into countless issues when replacing the fuel lines by larger diameter tubes in order for the fuel system to be safe to use with such a thirsty engine. That to mention only a few of the struggles, let alone learning all the new stuff associated with the technology of composite jets and gas turbine engines, thermal insulation considerations, electric braking systems, new radio environment, new gyro stuff, control boxes, larger servos, etc. Everything was pretty much new to me, despite the years of previous hobby experience, and it took quite some reading, asking and learning to get up to speed. So, after several years with this beauty idly sitting in my garage gathering dust, this past summer I finally found the time to perform the infamous overhaul. It all culminated last Friday when we finally managed to arrange a flight session with Marc from Jets Munt to help me out and assist during the first flights, should any problem arise (which thankfully didn't!). I got a couple of jump-scares from the jet being nose heavy despite setting the CG behind CARFs recommendations, which was heavily hinted by the nose dipping tendencies on the turns and the amount of pitch up stick required to high alpha and land the jet... then totally determined on the second flight after performing a trimmed 45º deadstick dive test from which the jet pulled back to level waaaay too fast for my likings... That, and an improper thrust line, causing the jet to pitch down and yaw to the left, almost sending the jet to the ground right after take-off when I released stick pressure, and then later on when the power kicked in during a go around, causing the jet to sharply bank left. Other than that, all went pretty smoothly and the jet survived to fly another day! Here's to hoping this one lasts a long time, providing plenty of joy and cool videos!! :D
Congratulations on the maiden and subsequent flights! Once your knees stop sounding like castañuelas and the squawks have been ironed out, your next couple of flights and beyond will be a thing to look forward to. 👍
Thanks Tobias!!! Yes indeed, I'm looking forward to see what I can do with this lil' puppy once I iron out the kinks! Looks like it's going to be a really fun plane to fly! :DDD
Congratulations! Good on you that you skipped the sport jets and went straight to a scale model. That’s how I did it despite everyone telling me not to. I went for the F22 and absolutely love it.
Enhorabuena Jano!
Thanks Victor! Totally agree, the main reason for not slowing further down was that the jet was too nose heavy. Should get easier once the CG is fixed up! ^^
I am really glad you finally got into turbines! This Eurosport seems like a great choice. I also got into turbines this year, after years of flying the EDFs. I started with the AF F-22. I have a T-One Eurofighter still to be assembled and setup. One thing turbines did for me, is they completely ruined the EDFs for me. I sold all of my Freewing and Eflite jets, and decided to only fly kero from here on. That was unexpected :) I also can't believe I didn't get into turbines much sooner. My reasons for not getting into it were pretty much identical to yours. ))
That's awesome! Although the ruination of EDFs is kinda sad. That hasn't happened for me. So much so that I just pulled the trigger on the new J-10 from FW! hahaha
Thanks man! Not forgotten no... actually, I made an entire new Su-35 and haven't posted a single video of that one yet, but I just have so many videos pending editing it's hard to schedule the editing queue... :') I want to post first the last flights of my 4th SU-35 until it died, then get started with the videos of the 5th one which has been the best of all to date! :D
Lightest airframe, better EDF/battery combo and 3 gyros. Could exit vertically from a hover (if only barely) through the entire flight, and flew 5min on average even with the crazy aerobatics and hovers. Crazy stuff!
Hahahaha! Just a wee bit! Other times I tried this leaving less time and too few guys showed up so trying to give a bit more headroom and see what happens... ^^ This is not the T-One, though. This is the CARF.
@@jsean13 Single turbine (Jets Munt M210TS), single exhaust with a vectored nozzle. The T-One is more scale and looks better, but probably comes out substantially heavier too and more complex to maintain and operate.
Congrats too from Thailand. Also hoping for that dream too, have an FMS F18 80mm now (building and prepping) Did your EDF time help with the conversion ??? 😊

It truly is, thanks!
Nothing else to say, super proud! Awesome my friend 🧡
Thank you very much David!
You know it's really satisfying to successfully maiden such a bird! :D

Ooooh, great choice! An F-22 was the option I had considered as an alternative for the Eurosport myself! Great pick, which one did you get?
@ I went with the AeroFoam F22. It flies a lot like the FW 90. Which is a good thing in my book.
That one has my interest too, from the size alone, although I hate what they did with the flaps :'(
Can't use them in a scale manner now.
oh wow congrats bro. this will be an epic addition to the collection and channel :)
Thanks, man!
Really hope so. It's been a dream of mine for a while now! 🤩
Congratulations! It's been great watching your journey! You helped inspire mine. Great job.
That means the world to me! :')
Here's to hopping yours is just as successful or more! 💪💪💪
