Thanks Paul for featuring Jamaican mangoes. It is true Alex that we Jamaicans are very passionate about our mangoes. We don't care about fibrous or non-fibrous, we just enjoy and the different varieties.
I gave my jamacian co-worker a Mallika mango. She said that she loves it and that it tastes like a cow foot. I told her that she's Loco. I grafted her a Mallika tree.
Not necessarily true yo because I grew up eating mangoes and I do not like East Indians AKA what Jamaicans call stringy I'm also Jamaican blackie's my favorite
Love this series and very happy you did Jamaica. It was great to hear how they do in Florida. 1 thing I would ask is if we could get recomendations for low input varieties that taste similar to those from each region. For beginners it would be good to hear, if you like Thai or Jamaican mangoes, a no spray disease resistant substitute is x,y,z. Sometimes its better to get a good yield that is close than none of the exact one..
Glad to see he mentioned Number 11, one of my favorites. We had a big tree that was always loaded. This will only taste nice after it's picked and put on the table for a few days. I think it has a bright orange color.
Great video! I am a Jamaican and never heard of the Nelson before. I grew up with Julie, Robin, Common and Sweetie mangoes in my yard. We love both fiber and non fiber mangoes. We don’t care lol.
Some one should probably try to grow a whole lot of seeds of out of east India and look for varients that have better disease resistance. Though it's possible that it's very stable when grown from seed 🤷🏽♂️.
They’re headphones so that I can answer calls while still harvesting fruit or driving equipment, they also cancel the noise from the jets because we are very close to the airport
Hey Paul, great videos. I have a question .I live in Orlando.I have a M4 that has two mangoes on the tree the size of a walnut at the last week of April.now 7/19/24 they are large green and very hard. How long should they be on the tree before I pick them? Should they be soft or is there a certain number of weeks? should I pick them and then let them ripen on the counter, thanks
Hey Alex plz name your top 5-10 Hyper-vigorous mangoes please. Need this info to grow Seedlings here in Arizona and California I appreciate your wonderful knowledge...really helps a bunch of people.

Jamaicans love Mangos Fibers and all if you go to jamaica you will see mango trees in every backyard
“We don’t drink coffee tea mango time 🎵”
People who grew up eating mangoes have no issue with fiber!! 😊
Not necessarily true yo because I grew up eating mangoes and I do not like East Indians AKA what Jamaicans call stringy I'm also Jamaican blackie's my favorite
I never had eaten fiberless growing up in Florida. We always assumed it was the way it was. Haden and her offspring dominated our backyard plantings.
In the 1960's and 70's, we thought Tommy Atkins was just fine. Nam Doc Mai started to change perceptions about fiber.
East Indian without fiber would be amazing.

Major crop from my 4 year old (5 ft tall) East Indian tree in South Florida this year-and strongly agree that the fruit is disease prone.

Cogshall, Bailey’s Marvel, Duncan, USDA’s Taymour are probably a few examples
Alex I see that you in most videos have a device around your neck. Is that headphones or something else like a neck fan?
They’re headphones so that I can answer calls while still harvesting fruit or driving equipment, they also cancel the noise from the jets because we are very close to the airport
you need some good guard dogs those critters will eat all the mangos

Haden trees can get big fast in my experience.
Cac is supposedly vigorous.
