A very clear, concise presentation and excellent cues as well for defenders to remember and use when in a back 4. Thank you
Quick question: what are distances (roughly) between each defender? 1st defender pressing, distance the 2nd defender needs to be when covering. As well as the 3rd and 4th defenders providing the balance? Thank you

Hi Jack, I'm really sorry for the delay in replying. I hadn't realised you had commented and asked a question.
The distances will of course vary depending upon the age of player and the size of pitch they are playing on. For a full size adult game you would expect a compact Back 4 to be approximately 10 m apart. This will change depending upon the movement of the opposition obviously but if you take the standard width of a penalty are which is just over 40m (44 yards), then the four players should be within that (if the ball is central). If the ball goes out wide, the Back four keep that approximate distance but move over to the side the ball is on as a unit - remembering that the second centre back shouldn't go much further than the front post and the opposite full back not much more across than the far post of the goal.
As I've said though, it depends upon the movement of the opposition and the defenders willl need to react to that. If a centre back gets drawn out of a central position to defend wide, a midfielder should drop in to cover them.
      I hope that helps!
I'm going to release some more vides soon. It would be great to get your feedback on those.
      Cheers
      Aaron

You're right, it isn't. The roles do change in actual game play depending on the movement of the opposition however, as a very basic introduction it gets the main points across. There is always more to learn and as you add more players, the game gets more complex.
