This episode has been my favorite so far! Clone Wars is perfectly Star Wars. Now all I want is a live-action Clone Wars series with The Father, The son, and The Daughter in it.
For a clone wars fan that’s everything we could have ever wanted and more. Some of the best live action Star Wars in a decade. My only gripe is the lightsabers still clearly looking like glow sticks(especially in the fog), I don’t understand how they can’t just use a little bit of CGI to make them look at least somewhat like they do in the prequels with the white plasma center and colored glow
I have a hard time pinning Andor vs Ashoka, just feels totally different. I’d probably say there’s 2-3 episodes in Andor that I liked more than this one but it’s not a huge variance. Every episode this season is still light years above anything Obi Wan gave us.
Tough to beat Andor's jailbreak, however this episode was really good. It was the episode I didnt know I needed. Ahsoka never reallt presented has having training holes to fill but it made sense in the end Obi-wan could have used some time in the World between Worlds but that's another rant. Plus space whales are awesome.
Pretty sure that the song "The Whales" by Goose (th-cam.com/video/fvSvuPNlqKg/w-d-xo.htmlsi=RemfxSYRuDnVyYS9) is somehow an ode to Ahsoka, S1E5: Shadow Warrior. She is speaking to/about her future self as her younger self once entering the World between Worlds: A match sparks fire - (Anakin lighting his lightsaber to fight Ahsoka) On an icy plain - (the World between worlds "planes" seem to made of fragile ice when Anakin breaks it to make Ahsoka fall) Stuck underwater - (Ahsoka is found underwater and unresponsive) Looking at the flame - (She is looking at past firefights and participating in current lightsaber fights) Racing to rescue my love - (Hera Syndulla is trying to find Ahsoka in the water) With four dogs in flight - (Hera and 3 X-Wings are searching for Ahsoka...) We'll run across the ocean - (... Ahsoka is in the ocean, so that is where the ships are looking for her) To catch the morning light - (Ahsoka as the "light" that will bring a new day) And I've gone back - (Ahsoka has travelled back in time [Teth, Mandalore] to relive those experiences with her current knowledge) And I've gone back to where I started from - (Teth) I am alright with her - (This is Ahsoka speaking to her younger self that isn't as battle-oriented) This life isn't what she'd prefer - (Ahsoka and Anakin debate the Warrior facet of Jedi life, and Anakin tells Ahsoka to her dismay that she is a product of her times) If I could I'd set her free - (Future Ahsoka realizes she has become disillusioned based on her younger self's preconceptions) With all the whales and me - (The Space Whales/Purgil) If the flame burns all night - (If the warmth/light side of the force persists...) It'll melt the snow - (... It will overcome the cold/dark side of the force) Then you'll fall into me - (Then current Ahsoka will re-capture the idealism of her past and reconcile her conflict) Then off we'll go - (Then the Space Whales will travel) Farther than Alaska - (Beyond the galaxy; specifically a cold, snowy location) Farther than Japan - (Beyond the galaxy; a nod to Samurai Japan and Ahsoka's connection to them with her Jar'Kai fighting form) A new life together - (Life can be complete and begin once you have incorporated your "Shadow" self in a Jungian theory) Without a plan - (Ahsoka revels to Huyang about not having a plan in terms of where to go to find Ezra) And I've gone back - (See above for similar analysis... repeated for emphasis) And I've gone back to where I started from I am alright with her This life isn't what she'd prefer If I could I'd set her free With all the whales and me
Do you think any part of the Anakin that Ashoka sees is actually some kind of remembrance of Anakin? Or is it 100% Ashoka’s vision. If that makes sense.
@@tylermyers6799agreed but at the same time I gotta wonder…is 3 episodes enough for a Thrawn story? It sucks to wait, but if he shows last minute, it means they’re ready to dedicate an entire season with him as a villain. So…which is better 😅?
I think for non-animated series guys (me) this hits well because Star Wars has become such a bs fan service it’s very refreshing to be in a world where I have no idea what’s going and I have to get my bearings. That’s nice compared to how is disney going to shoehorn some storyline in

Sebastian Shaw was in his 70s playing 45 year old Vader.
DAMNIT BOB. I NEEDED TO GO TO BED!

It's Anakin's spirit, as he referenced Luke.
Best Star Wars content since the prison arc in andor, maybe better than that.
Are we prepared for a scenario where Thrawn doesn’t show till the very end?
Don’t even put that out in the universe, we need him next week😭

Recency bias but it was such a great theatrical episode I think it has to be 1.1 or 1.2
