Damn Nick you have just raised the s10 truck game across the country now just when I had got a handle on all these mustangs now I gotta watch out for the s10 lol jk hell I have a s10 myself that's sit for two years and now I want to get started on it!
You guys were killing me with the “by the numbers” ID of that block 😂😂 looks to be a great block visually. I can see the extra pads cast into the lifter valley which could be a strong indicator of a high nickel block. They are getting harder to find for us guy stuck on stock blocks.. please don’t blow it up!😂 I love your videos!
One thing I know from exerience, whether you get rich or just make a living, building your own dream, making your own way WILL be the most fun, most satisfying thing you will ever do.
Great video God bless you for rescuing Lizzie‘s cat 🐱 love the S-10 kit killer engineering and 4-bolt main 350 you should at least throw an oil pump on it while the pans off dig all the Christmas parts merry Christmas to all
Wow awesome job buddy, its been awesome to watch you grow with the part printing and making its awesome and its amazing work im very happy for you i dont know yoou but im proud of you doing your thing
My first vehicle was a '69 SWB C10 w/255hp 350 and 3spd manual which I quickly replaced with an M21 4spd. Heads, cam, intake and exhaust made a huge improvement.
Run the tube braces to the exterior of the frame where the tube cross member lands. incorporate a drive shaft loop in there. hard to mount one in the rear in these trucks.
I think buy sponsoring someone with all your parts or building your own car with everything you have developed would be a great way to help sell your products, get out to the race's and show people what you have to offer and how it works, now get out there and sell sell sell. Hope you and Alex have a great Christmas and New Year.
Man I tell ya between you and your father in law you too guys have so much talent I really think you knocked this bolt in kit out of the park it's bad ass any idea how much it's going to sell for? Great job you out done yourself
Look at balancer. If thin/skinny it’s a 327, if thick it’s 350. And if you was very very lucky and was a 302 it would have DZ stamped in the side of block around motor mounts
Hey Nick, CJ Race cars is building an S10 for Sickweek right now, and maybe Cameron over there would be interested in your back half kit? Are you ready t go to production yet? Because, if they are interested, they may want one right away. I just watched a CJRC video right before I watched this video of yours. Good Luck to you and Alex, and Merry Christmas!
I think its high nickel, high zinc maybe. But the numbers are usually behind the timing gears, it will be a 010, 020 depending the percent extra. The pink rods, will just have a pink marker dot on the side of the beam.
The quickest way to break down the identification of the sbc or bbc engines is by looking for the casting numbers that are usually on the rear of the block cast into the bellhousing flange.
Looks like that was rebuilt at some point, look at the right rear expansion plug, it has or had a heat tab, sometimes the builder has their name on them. The bearings should also have date codes.
It's 010 block your thinking of... that's just a myth from back in the day.. numerous ppl have had those old blocks brinell tested and microscopic analysis done and they are all made out of cheap grey cast iron with just enough base materials to make it bind together at the time it was cast
Nick what great work you do and your vision is outstanding. One thing that I noticed in your upper mount on the rear housing is did you take into consideration the flange of the pumpkin for the upper bolts to your bracket? /Will it reposition your mount away from the face of the third member housing. Also How about doing a teaching video on Tig Welding for beginners? I watched Dennis's video on the Camaro cage that you welded.
Nick, Merry Christmas to you and the whole Taylor family. Great video, love your attention to detail. Your vision is amazing, and your skills are growing Super-fast. Your ideas are remarkable. I watch each video several time and on your new 4-link idea I noticed the pumpkin isn't in place. Will you bracket clear the pumpkin housing where you bolted on the upper mount? Will it throw off the length of the upper bars seeing the pumpkin housing is close to 5/16" thick at the bolt holes. Great work Keep putting out videos.
Look at the numbers on the top of the block, front right and rear left, they will identify the block. Engine tech parts are used by bodybuilders. Those look to be press fit pins due to the heat markings on the rod ends or they were converted to floaters.
If you want to know if it's a 355 you would have to measure the bore but if there is no 30 on the tops of the pistons for 30 over then it's a factory bore. a 355 is a 350 bore 30 over. Those pistons do look like aftermarket but it's hard to tell I know the 350 the piston is in the hole a ways and zeroing the block would help raise the compression and give it more power.
The the 010 blocks has the high nickel content making the block stronger is what I have heard but then I have heard it's a myth so I really don't know but if that a 1969 block it should be good because 1969 and 70 were the best years for compression and the highest HP of the small block until the late 90's. Have you ran the #'s on the Iron heads to see if they were a good set of heads or not.
You are wrong about the year of that block. They never made a small block with left hand dipstick in 69. They didn’t come out until around 80. Notches in front of piston is just to show you that the notch faces the front of the engine. It’s a stock bore or it would be marked right on top of the piston

There U go! Love the first gen SBC

I know Lizzy is happy that Aftershock is with you Nick!
Man I tell ya between you and your father in law you too guys have so much talent I really think you knocked this bolt in kit out of the park it's bad ass any idea how much it's going to sell for? Great job you out done yourself

I just started building my s10, first time. Hope you get those gen 1 4 links, I’d buy one.
First Gen and second Gen s10 frames are the same!
Tri 5 chevy stuff would be awesome
The notch's all point to the front of the motor.
Happy Christmas eve bud ❤uall later 🏁💪🏼🎅hohoho
You need to build something like that for the chevelle
Is this kit when you finished it work on first gen s10 extended cab I was fixing to order split mono leafs and caltracs glad I watch your videos
Im ready to buy one s10... I would love one for my 04 canyon also.
Look at balancer. If thin/skinny it’s a 327, if thick it’s 350. And if you was very very lucky and was a 302 it would have DZ stamped in the side of block around motor mounts
Nice !!
The 509 block is a 400 two bolt main with more nickel in the casting making it stronger.
This should be aloud in stock style suspension for us S-10 so we can compete with the mustangs, lol.

And there’s a pad on the passenger side of the block near the deck surface. That series of numbers will identify where it came from.
What software is this sir ? Very cool !!!
Fusion 360!
I want to see how you going to hook the wishbone for the roller rocker arms without the the threaded Base port for the Wishbone installation...
Top rearend bracket for the Stock 7.5 and 8.8 ,? Probably just as many or more of those rearends used than 9inch.
Look For an S10A Casting mark on the back of the block above the driver side bellhousing bolt pattern .
Looks like that was rebuilt at some point, look at the right rear expansion plug, it has or had a heat tab, sometimes the builder has their name on them. The bearings should also have date codes.

Always fun to read all the comments on groups about the 010 020 blocks. Like they are super special you would think they got a bowtie 184 block
Hope it's in my budget it's so sick

Need a 4 link for the Obs
I believe thay were Tonawanda high performance made in Tonawanda Ontario
Should make a kit or parts for the nbs or 99-07 silverado
Are you working with a company for a rear end housing that will work with your kit?
Yep trick chassis will be doing them
I've got a 406 small block with a good set of forged pistons and 350 rods i would swap you for long travel chevelle set up...
That sounds interesting, send me a message!
@nickkybobbyinc message sent

4 valve relief flat tops 9:5-1 compression
When might this kit be available for purchase?
P. S.
Is that an Edelbrock Yorker intake ?
Yep!
Torker

Easiest way is to measure the stroke302=3”, 327=3.25”, 350=3.48”. All have a 4” bore
Don't think I've ever seen bluing on the rods on the small end
Those blocks with the squares cast in the valley are supposed to be the best 350 blocks.
010 block
Hell yea just got one for $100
@@tommycook9620 They are getting harder to find. $100 is a good deal these days. I remember they used to be everywhere. Great foundation for a 383
I sent CJRC a note in their comment section ab out your kit, Nick. Maybe you and they can get together on their S10 project? Help each other out?
Will this kit fit for the S10 blazer????
Unfortunately I don’t believe so
@ well at least I have your gap brackets
Keep up the great work n making dreams happen bud
Merry Christmas n 2025 is going to be a great year
Next kit to build Ford Ranger...

I do have a lot better new shift kit for the th 350 transmission very easy to install also if you need it
I would at least put a Millings 55 oil pump in it while I had to pan off
The balancer looks big, might be a truck engine, if parts are all original
Consider yourself lucky that suffix code is listed most blocks in Alabama and Georgia are not
Correction I meant they only have driver side dipsticks
3970010 is the high nickel block.
That’s what we all heard growing up, Google that and you might be surprised.
Looks like a passenger side dipstick that would be a 81-86 pickup motor with 4 bolt main.and that would explain the blue paint.
PUT A NEW CHEAP OIL PUMP🎉🎉
That pan won’t clear cross member on the s10
🦾🦾
Talk to tommy and Billy, truck rnd
0 10 block it is what i have in my s10 blazer
looks like a 305
That is not a corporate unidapt block it's just a standard small block Chevrolet transmission bolt pattern
Notch marks pistons front
Cameron Johnston Race Cars are building a S10 right now and they are going with mostly bought pieces to do it since they are swamped building customer cars th-cam.com/video/fy5zdwJksA4/w-d-xo.html
Or a 307
Please for your own sake find someone that actually knows motors.
Would u do a kit like that for a monza or vega prob not more of them are old drag cars not street car or no prep cars
