The Story of Hvitserk it set at the height of Viking age in the 9th century. During this time the Norsemen were raiding lands indiscriminately, England, Paris, the Mediterranean the list goes on; no lands were safe from their wrath. Hvitserk was a key player during the time of the Great Heathen army and their conquest of most of England. However, there is one issue with the tale of Hvitserk, many sources mention a son of Ragnar named Halfdan who accompanied his brothers to England. Due to Halfdan and Hvitserk not being mentioned in any of the same sources, many historians believe that they are the same person and that Hvitserk was perhaps the nickname of Halfdan. Regardless, we will explore all sources regarding the life of Hvitserk and Halfdan assuming they were indeed the same person.

There are ample evidences for Sigurd, Hafdan and Ubba to be brothers. A little for Bjorn and none for Ivar.

Plus afterwards Ivar didn’t leave England right away. Neither did Ubbe (Ubba). There’s a lot of reports and even directly from England of them two being together. Ivar however eventually left. Though Ubbe and him caused a lot of chaos together. Ubbe didn’t end up leaving England, all sources point to him dying in England after being defeated by Alfred.
