  • A brand new Dalby disabled lift at the new Wren Kitchens store which is in the new part of the retail park which has been knocked down and rebuilt. The store units next to this shop in the new unit look like they are still in the process of building it.
Usually I don’t tend to ride platform lifts but since it is brand new (and because my former high school has one of these lifts) I gave it a ride. It is a pretty standard screw drive platform lift designed for wheelchair users. It is quite nice for a platform lift if I’m being honest, I like the fixtures and the lighting though it looks like the indicator and voice module glitched a bit when I got to ground because when the lift arrived at ground, it didn’t announce the ground floor and the indicator thought it was still moving downwards which was strange.
    Controller - unknown (Schmersal?)
    Voice - Schmersal
Fixtures - Dewhurst M20/Schneider/Schmersal LED dots matrix indicator
Mechanism - screw drive MRL (motor room less)
    Type/designation - Wheelchair lift
DDA features - DDA compliant fixtures, visual and audible annunciation & wheelchair accessibility ramp
Doors - manually operated swing doors with full length windows
    Floors - 2(0(G on indicator), 1)
Health & Safety features - door interlocks, emergency stop switch, safety switches in mechanism/controller compartments, safety guards etc
    Maintenance company- Dalby
    Year installed - 2020 (June)
    Age - 4 months old

    Date filmed - 16th October 2020

@Sam Grimes I’m afraid Wellingborough it’s a little far for me but if I find myself in that area I’ll pay it a visit!

Very awesome platform lift, also a wren kitchen is being built currently in my town at st James retail park, where the formar office outlet was it only had 1 floor the range lift I filmed at that range used to be a 1 floor bhs store but Converted it to a range and dw sports which close down I’m still waiting for a new store to take it’s place and hope Ecodisc will stay as the other retail site right next to the other st James where Dunelm and wren an b&m is abit lazy and slow with getting stores to take it’s place

Eeesh! It's a platform lift. I don't have much to say about it. I'm just not a fan of platform lifts. They're cheap. Also, Piccadilly Line voice!

I don’t rid nor film platform lifts very often but because it is brand new and it is the same as one of the lifts in my old school I thought I’d go for it
