For those who enjoy researching the biographies of the supporting cast, those mentioned in the closing credits are Lillian Buyeff, Irene Tedrow, Dee J. Thompson, Herb Ellis, Marvin Miller, Forrest Lewis, Bob Bruce and Russ Thorson
The change to fifteen-minute episodes forming serialized stories was a significantly negative impact on the quality of this show. This episode contains a lot of repetition and reiteration, which would be necessary on the original broadcast but are completely pointless when they're all played back-to-back like this. Besides that, the story in general has a lot of padding; it could easily be rewritten into a tighter script with half the runtime.
They do the repetition in case the listener missed the episode from yesterday. It helps on some of the stories where I am missing an episode. I also find that a lot of the 5 part episodes with Bob Bailey were original done with John Lund as Johnny Dollar. So the scripts were tighter with less padding. You might try to listen to these episodes of YTJD, You might them more. Lund plays Dollar much more flat then any of the other Dollars. I think he was influenced by Jack Webb in Dragnet, the way a lot of shows were in the early fifties.
Son Son Son Son Son……If I heard it one more time I’m throwing the sheriff out the window.
I love that Character Efe
