We need young people like you who care about VHS - all the techs left are in their 50's-70's (or older!) and it's getting harder to find folks to service VCRs! Nice work here.
Back then, I didn't really know how to fix a ton of VCRs. Now since I'm used to working on the Funai VCRs, I typically don't really avoid them. They are actually easy to repair.
I'm glad to have found you, I inherited my parents' collection of VHS tapes and I have a rewinder that worked great until it just got knocked off the shelf. Still works great but won't auto eject now. Is that an easy fix? Thanks in advance!!

I just realized, White Lithium Grease works as well.
Will have to try this! I have a 2008 Magnavox VCR DVD Recorder Combo that squeals when playing LP and SLP tape, so hopefully this should help it!

You know, when my funai made vcrs get warm inside from playing a tape, i rewind it and it doesnt get loud as much when warm.

if its the basic plastic one that pops up then its most likely a latch that broke and it can not be fixed easy.

I Think The Power Supply Is Dead. You Have to Replace The Dead Power Supply into a new one.
Well my China pride funai from 2004 does that however it also squeals loudly when recording and playing tapes recorded in the LP mode
