So His Ten Commandments hang on, they depend on, the Two. Was this always the case? "And thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thine heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy might." Deut 6:5 "Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself: I am the Lord." Lev 19:18 Yes, it has ALWAYS been the aim of His law to love Him with all our heart and to love our neighbor as ourselves!
And not only is Jesus' remnant Church today preaching to keep His Commandments (albeit weakly, Rev 3:16), Jesus gives His remnant Church the gift of PROPHESY: "And the dragon was wroth with the woman, and went to make war with the remnant of her seed, which keep the commandments of God, and have the testimony of Jesus Christ." Rev 12:17, see also Rev 19:10. There is only 1 Church I know of that fills ALL of these identifiers of His Church. The Seventh-day Adventist Church, the remnant Church.
Paul tells us the Two Great Commandments SUM UP the Ten Commandments. The first four Commandments sum up as love to God, and the last six sum up as love to our neighbor. Rom 13:8-10.
Jesus spoke in parables so that those of hard hearing, that is, who didn't believe, would not understand them. Matt 13:10-17. Likewise, prophesying is for those who BELIEVE: "But prophesying serveth not for them that believe not, but for them which believe." 1 Cor 14:22 There is nothing wrong with not knowing the truth. But when truth is given to us, we need to embrace it and BELIEVE.
"If you really fulfill the royal law according to the Scripture, “You shall love your neighbor as yourself,” you do well; but if you show partiality, you commit sin, and are convicted by the law as transgressors. For whoever shall keep the whole law, and yet stumble in one point, he is guilty of all. For He who said, “Do not commit adultery,” also said, “Do not murder.” (con't)
"And there stood up one of them named Agabus, and signified by the Spirit that there should be great dearth throughout all the world: which came to pass in the days of Claudius Caesar." Acts 11:28 "And as we tarried there many days, there came down from Judaea a certain prophet, named Agabus." Acts 21:10 God gave messages to Agabus the prophet for the early church and he did prophesy.
"But we desire to hear of thee what thou thinkest: for as concerning this sect, we know that every where it is spoken against." Acts 28:22 It's an honor when someone calls the remnant Church a "sect", they have from the beginning.

Indeed, God says in Joel 2 that He will pour out His Spirit on all flesh, and some will prophesy & see visions & dream dreams. Whoever has Jesus in their heart God could potentially use to prophesy. You seem to realize now that there actually are TRUE prophets today among the many FALSE gone out into the world.

"But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people." 1 Pet 2:9 Those who are Christ's are the priests who receive their High Priest's tithe. As Abraham gave tithe to the man and priest Melchizedek, we give tithe to our High Priest Jesus through His priesthood, if indeed Jesus is really our High Priest.
Emma, many false prophets have gone into the world (1 John 4:1) but in contrast God's church HAS His gift of prophesy. Paul in Heb 1:1-2 says that finally God sent His Son to us, to speak with us in person after so long, after sending His prophets in the past. Paul doesn't say anywhere in Hebrews that since Jesus spoke to us in person, He won't have any more messages for His church or that He's not sending prophets anymore. Similarly, Jesus says "For all the prophets and the law prophesied until John." Matt 11:13 John prophesied, just as His prophets past until John. No mention of John being the last prophet.
Several years ago, and having prayerfully read the Bible over and over, I purposed in my heart to find God's remnant church. As in apostolic times, it must exist TODAY, because Jesus said His Church would prevail even against death. Matt 16:18. It would be a church which preaches that we are saved solely by grace through faith. Eph 2:8 It would be a church which preaches Jesus, and Him raised from the dead. Acts 4:2, Col 1:28.
The solution was of course Church leadership--Paul chiefly--explaining to the Church at Galatia that reliance on circumcision stopped the hearing of faith and led members to live in sin! Praise the Lord, the Galatians got it, for we don't hear of Paul speaking to them again concerning circumcision.
They are open, and are opening more and more, because it is the LORD who opens our eyes that they may see. Gen 21:19, Num 22:31, 2 Kings 6:17, Isa 35:5, Luke 24:31, Acts 9:40.

Back in the days of Noah, Moses, Elijah, John, Paul, and even Jesus, so many people called them deceived and false. So it doesn't surprise me at all that people would keep on bashing God's prophets. Satan has so blinded people into believing the lies. "But as the days of Noah were, so also will the coming of the Son of Man be." It breaks my heart to see people decieved when the Bible clearly teaches God's truths, all they would have to do is study for themselves. But they would rather go to listen to a man preach an hour on one or two verses and those out of context.....

Scripture tells us in many places in the NT that God will CONTINUE to send His prophets, all the way up until He comes again. Read Acts chapter 2-Pentecost and the giving of the Holy Spirit! Jesus' church would continue to receive His Spirit of prophesy. Rev 12:17, Rev 14:12, Rev 19:10. Paul says to seek spiritual gifts esp PROPHESY. Check out 1 Corinthians chapters 13 & 14. Philip the Evangelist has 4 daughters which did PROPHESY. Acts 21:9.

You claimed prophesy ended with John the Baptist but God STILL gives His gift of prophesy. When will you believe God? What will it take?
Never said that salvation depended on denomination. Multiple millions and millions have died in Christ coming from various denominations outside of mine. Yet Jesus DOES have a visible church. Just as with ancient Israel. Just as in apostolic times. The Holy Spirit calls them the remnant. These saved in Christ are different in that they 1) keep His commandments and 2) God gives them the gift of prophesy. Rev 12:17, 14:12. Where is that remnant today?
I think he would agree with you about that--Isaiah 66:23 is clear--but the mission of antichrist is to get as many as possible to leave the remnant church, citing, ironically, apostasy.
But just as there are Spirit-led believers all over, there is also the VISIBLE Church, just like the early Church in apostolic times. With it's organized Church leadership & stated beliefs & outreach. Where do you think that group is today?

Jesus wrote the Sabbath of the Ten Commandments, and thus of the Two Great Commandments, the Lord's Day (Mark 2:27-28, Rev 1:10), and is eternal in nature. Scripture makes the 4th Commandment DISTINCTLY DIFFERENT than the temporary (Gal 3:19) handwritten new moon meat & drink shadowy sacrificial sabbath ordinances which Moses wrote, the law of Moses of Leviticus ch 23, which Christ, the real substance, ABOLISHED when He sacrificed Himself for our sin. Col 2:14-17, Eph 2:15.

Bohr teaches plainly. I have always argued with dispensational preachers/teachers, "but the Bible goes on to define itself, keep reading...". And that is it folks... hardly anyone reads their BIble. And of those that do, few use the principles of Biblical study found in Scripture (only)... let alone a study translation roots. But no one can force this on us, and it's certainly not in God's character to. This requires heart, mind, and soul; not legislation and force of the flesh.
@preachinshawn So concerning Abraham and tithe then either 1) the Bible teaches he arbitrarily gave a tenth and God thought it was a great concept and copied it, or 2) the Bible teaches that tithing has always been the His way as an avenue of faith and blessing to the obedient. I believe the book of Hebrews, centering on Jesus as our ever living High Priest and what He does for us, leaves us with little doubt concerning His priestly tithe and who receives it.

"JESUS exposed the Sabbath" Jesus exposed the PHARISEES. Jesus created His Sabbath to be a DELIGHT, a 24-hr period of time where we can focus on Jesus and His ways. Isa 58:13. But in the hardness of their hearts, the Pharisees developed a legalistic way of viewing the 7th Day, imposing a list of restrictive DON'TS. They accused Jesus of breaking the 4th Commandment, but Jesus, as Lord of the Sabbath, showed them properly it is RIGHT to DO GOOD on His Day.
The question isn't what the Bible says about prophesy in Jesus' church, for God makes it abundantly clear He still sends His Spirit of prophesy to those who believe. The real question is, do we love Jesus enough TO BELIEVE HIS WORD, even if it goes against what our parents or friends or even our church teaches? "Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God." Matt 4:4 Is it good enough to live by some of Jesus' words, or ought we live by all?
Jesus' Church, just as in apostolic times, would be preaching the ENTIRE Gospel message--the everlasting Gospel of the Kingdom of God. Rev 14:6. As well as preaching the great themes of salvation; faith, grace, justification, sanctification, glorification, today's remnant Church would also preach to the world the keeping His Commandments, for according to Scripture: "Here is the patience of the saints: here are they that keep the commandments of God, and the faith of Jesus." Rev 14:12
False Christ and false apostles and false teachers all have something in common: they lead others into sin, teaching against keeping God's commandments. But Jesus says "If you love Me, keep My commandments." John 14:15 Therefore wherever His remnant church is today, they will be teaching love to Jesus. This means 95% of churches are not teaching us to fully love Jesus, but the good news is, it does narrow down the search for the remnant Church, yes? (IF one is ACTUALLY searching). God bless.

Quest, just saw this reply of yours. Unfortunate that some would flag it, but I agree with most of what you say here. I'm curious though about your opinion of God's Church. Now we know that Jesus' Church consists of believers in whom the Holy Spirit dwells. Rom 8:9 I agree there are MILLIONS upon millions of believers who have the Holy Spirit in all different denominations, and even outside of the Church. I'll call this group the invisible Church, because we don't know exactly who they are.

@preach I would go a step further and say that God's true church is simply those faithful, commandment keeping people of God. God has elect scattered in every church, but when the truth is presented to them in pure rays of light, they will accept & separate from those churches they love & join hands with God's people. They will obey all of God's commandments out of love, & these commandments will be written in their hearts. This is the sanctifying result of true Faith and Grace upon the heart.

Jesus Two Great Commandments (Matt ch 22, Mark ch 12, Luke ch 10): 1) Love God with all our heart and 2) Love our neighbor as ourselves Jesus says all His law, the Ten Commandments and any other commandment, hangs ON these Two Commandments. His law DEPENDS on these Two. Why? It's because of LOVE. God IS love. 1 John 4:8 God is not simply loving, He IS LOVE. Real Godly love, agape love, is love OUTWARD to others. It is someone caring about others even at their own expense. That's His nature.

Yes, the remnant in Rev 12:17 & 14:12 that I'm asking you about are simply those at the time of the end who are saved by His grace and thus keep His commandments and have the spirit of prophesy. @yastunt I do not believe that someone necessarily have to see something happen in order to believe it. However, that things in question MUST BE A REALITY. For example, if you tell me that one of your family members passed away, I don't have to see the dead body in order to believe it. Why? Because this is not unusual to us. We experience fact that people are being born and they die on a daily basis. But....

Outside of the apostolic Church, there was no other Church leadership, was there?

In Rev 12:17 we see an important identifier of the true prophets in whom the Holy Spirit resides: they KEEP His commandments. The false don't keep His commandments and are liars (1 John 2:4) and don't even know Jesus at all. The disobedient might profess Jesus & seem outwardly to love Him, but inside their hearts are exposed to be far from Him if they don't obey Him.

Before, you didn't know what Scripture says about prophesying. You thought John was God's last prophet, but over and over the NT shows us prophesy is one of the most sought after spiritual gifts, therefore we see many examples of TRUE prophets in the NT after John, and indeed Rev ch 12 & 14 & 19 tells us God would CONTINUE to give His gift of prophesy for those who believe. But you do now know what Scripture says concerning prophesy. I urge you to yield to the Holy Spirit and BELIEVE His Word.
@preachinshawn Paul defined the "elect" as His brothers in Christ. Rom 8:31-33. How many denominations were there? Just one. His church today will be preaching and teaching exactly the same as the elect did back in apostolic times. That is a true test of a church. That is the church the Holy Spirit guides the wayward elect who come out of Babylon (Rev 18:4) to, the church that matches the apostolic church, the remnant church. God bless.

What did the High Priest give for sin? Gifts and Sacrifice. Jesus became the ETERNAL High Priest. He gave himself as a sacrifice and gifts like prophesy. Anyone who likes or allows them self to be referred to as a prophet usually isn't.

i was referring to the founder of this denomination, who practiced necromancy, made many false prophecies, added to Scripture, and behaved contrary to certain commandments, etc. this man seems very intelligent but i dont understand why he would put himself under submission to such nonsense. I understand EXACTLY what you are saying, so look again at those Scriptures you are quoting and referring to. NONE say God will not send anymore prophets or that prophesy has come to an end or that we don't need prophesy anymore. That is only your IDEA, but not what Scripture SAYS.

Yet, Jesus said "I will build My church." Matt 16:18. He didn't say "churches" with a Babylon of opposing doctrines and contradictory beliefs & practices. God is not the author of confusion. 1 Cor 14:33.
where does the Bible describe only one outward visible group? even in the early Church times, as we read in the letters of the NT there has always been external divisions in the visible church based on doctrine interpretation and practice and such. and in Revelation before the Throne of God in heaven there are Seven Angels over Seven Golden Candlesticks which are the Seven Churches of the world. each of these has there own particular strengths, some have great faults - none are perfect.
He says that they wanted God to destroy the enemies by force of arms. They wanted and earthly kingdom. Why not? That is exactly how God dealt with the Heathens around the Jews throughout their history. Did they know to accept or believe anything other?
They certainly did not believe Jesus would first have to die for their sins and the sins of the whole world before His earthly kingdom would be set up, even though that was there in Scripture had they read and believed.

After all God often - it could be said that he always - dealt with Israel's enemies by force of arms. Is it any wonder that the disciples also thought Jesus would install an earthly kingdom? Yes, we have Isaiah 53 in retrospect along with various Psalms and other passages - but the Psalms are especially cryptic. Reading them you would never know that Jesus was speaking of Himself as a sin sacrifice. Where in the Bible do we have evidence that people believed there would be a Christ that would die for their sins? It seems impossible - except for Isaiah 53 - to have any hint that anyone (and Isaiah certainly doesnt speak of God dying for the sins of mankind) could believe that salvation would come through the death of a person.

So His Ten Commandments hang on, they depend on, the Two. Was this always the case?
"And thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thine heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy might." Deut 6:5
"Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself: I am the Lord." Lev 19:18
Yes, it has ALWAYS been the aim of His law to love Him with all our heart and to love our neighbor as ourselves!
And not only is Jesus' remnant Church today preaching to keep His Commandments (albeit weakly, Rev 3:16), Jesus gives His remnant Church the gift of PROPHESY:
"And the dragon was wroth with the woman, and went to make war with the remnant of her seed, which keep the commandments of God, and have the testimony of Jesus Christ." Rev 12:17, see also Rev 19:10.
There is only 1 Church I know of that fills ALL of these identifiers of His Church. The Seventh-day Adventist Church, the remnant Church.
Paul tells us the Two Great Commandments SUM UP the Ten Commandments. The first four Commandments sum up as love to God, and the last six sum up as love to our neighbor. Rom 13:8-10.
Jesus spoke in parables so that those of hard hearing, that is, who didn't believe, would not understand them. Matt 13:10-17.
Likewise, prophesying is for those who BELIEVE:
"But prophesying serveth not for them that believe not, but for them which believe." 1 Cor 14:22
There is nothing wrong with not knowing the truth. But when truth is given to us, we need to embrace it and BELIEVE.
"If you really fulfill the royal law according to the Scripture, “You shall love your neighbor as yourself,” you do well;
but if you show partiality, you commit sin, and are convicted by the law as transgressors.
For whoever shall keep the whole law, and yet stumble in one point, he is guilty of all.
For He who said, “Do not commit adultery,” also said, “Do not murder.” (con't)
"And there stood up one of them named Agabus, and signified by the Spirit that there should be great dearth throughout all the world: which came to pass in the days of Claudius Caesar." Acts 11:28
"And as we tarried there many days, there came down from Judaea a certain prophet, named Agabus." Acts 21:10
God gave messages to Agabus the prophet for the early church and he did prophesy.
"But we desire to hear of thee what thou thinkest: for as concerning this sect, we know that every where it is spoken against." Acts 28:22
It's an honor when someone calls the remnant Church a "sect", they have from the beginning.

Indeed, God says in Joel 2 that He will pour out His Spirit on all flesh, and some will prophesy & see visions & dream dreams. Whoever has Jesus in their heart God could potentially use to prophesy.

Those who are Christ's are the priests who receive their High Priest's tithe.

Paul in Heb 1:1-2 says that finally God sent His Son to us, to speak with us in person after so long, after sending His prophets in the past.
Paul doesn't say anywhere in Hebrews that since Jesus spoke to us in person, He won't have any more messages for His church or that He's not sending prophets anymore.
Similarly, Jesus says "For all the prophets and the law prophesied until John." Matt 11:13 John prophesied, just as His prophets past until John. No mention of John being the last prophet.
Several years ago, and having prayerfully read the Bible over and over, I purposed in my heart to find God's remnant church. As in apostolic times, it must exist TODAY, because Jesus said His Church would prevail even against death. Matt 16:18.
It would be a church which preaches that we are saved solely by grace through faith. Eph 2:8
It would be a church which preaches Jesus, and Him raised from the dead. Acts 4:2, Col 1:28.

The solution was of course Church leadership--Paul chiefly--explaining to the Church at Galatia that reliance on circumcision stopped the hearing of faith and led members to live in sin!
Praise the Lord, the Galatians got it, for we don't hear of Paul speaking to them again concerning circumcision.
They are open, and are opening more and more, because it is the LORD who opens our eyes that they may see. Gen 21:19, Num 22:31, 2 Kings 6:17, Isa 35:5, Luke 24:31, Acts 9:40.

Misunderstanding or misapplying doctrine is not the same as leaving and forming a different church with different leadership, is it?
Like for instance, when division arose WITHIN THE CHURCH concerning circumcision at the Church of God at Galatia, God's solution was NOT to have pro-circumcision members leave & form a circumcision-believing church!
Back in the days of Noah, Moses, Elijah, John, Paul, and even Jesus, so many people called them deceived and false. So it doesn't surprise me at all that people would keep on bashing God's prophets. Satan has so blinded people into believing the lies. "But as the days of Noah were, so also will the coming of the Son of Man be." Scripture tells us in many places in the NT that God will CONTINUE to send His prophets, all the way up until He comes again. Read Acts chapter 2-Pentecost and the giving of the Holy Spirit!
Jesus' church would continue to receive His Spirit of prophesy. Rev 12:17, Rev 14:12, Rev 19:10.
Paul says to seek spiritual gifts esp PROPHESY. Check out 1 Corinthians chapters 13 & 14.
Philip the Evangelist has 4 daughters which did PROPHESY. Acts 21:9.
"Blessed are ye, when men shall revile you, and persecute you, and shall say all manner of evil against you FALSELY, for my sake.
Rejoice, and be exceeding glad: for great is your reward in heaven: for so persecuted they the prophets which were before you." Matt 5:11-12

That's crystal clear, and unlike you and some others I BELIEVE Jesus and His Word when He says today He still has a people who keep His commandments and a people to whom He gives His Spirit of prophesy.

Philip the Evangelist had four daughters who did prophesy. Not false prophets. True prophets. You claimed prophesy ended with John the Baptist but God STILL gives His gift of prophesy.
When will you believe God? What will it take?
Never said that salvation depended on denomination. Multiple millions and millions have died in Christ coming from various denominations outside of mine.
Yet Jesus DOES have a visible church. Just as with ancient Israel. Just as in apostolic times. The Holy Spirit calls them the remnant.
These saved in Christ are different in that they 1) keep His commandments and 2) God gives them the gift of prophesy. Rev 12:17, 14:12. Where is that remnant today?
I think he would agree with you about that--Isaiah 66:23 is clear--but the mission of antichrist is to get as many as possible to leave the remnant church, citing, ironically, apostasy.
But just as there are Spirit-led believers all over, there is also the VISIBLE Church, just like the early Church in apostolic times. With it's organized Church leadership & stated beliefs & outreach.

Jesus wrote the Sabbath of the Ten Commandments, and thus of the Two Great Commandments, the Lord's Day (Mark 2:27-28, Rev 1:10), and is eternal in nature.
Scripture makes the 4th Commandment DISTINCTLY DIFFERENT than the temporary (Gal 3:19) handwritten new moon meat & drink shadowy sacrificial sabbath ordinances which Moses wrote, the law of Moses of Leviticus ch 23, which Christ, the real substance, ABOLISHED when He sacrificed Himself for our sin. Col 2:14-17, Eph 2:15.

Bohr teaches plainly. I have always argued with dispensational preachers/teachers, "but the Bible goes on to define itself, keep reading...". And that is it folks... hardly anyone reads their BIble. And of those that do, few use the principles of Biblical study found in Scripture (only)... let alone a study translation roots. But no one can force this on us, and it's certainly not in God's character to. This requires heart, mind, and soul; not legislation and force of the flesh.

1) the Bible teaches he arbitrarily gave a tenth and God thought it was a great concept and copied it, or
2) the Bible teaches that tithing has always been the His way as an avenue of faith and blessing to the obedient. I believe the book of Hebrews, centering on Jesus as our ever living High Priest and what He does for us, leaves us with little doubt concerning His priestly tithe and who receives it.

"JESUS exposed the Sabbath"
Jesus exposed the PHARISEES.
Jesus created His Sabbath to be a DELIGHT, a 24-hr period of time where we can focus on Jesus and His ways. Isa 58:13.
But in the hardness of their hearts, the Pharisees developed a legalistic way of viewing the 7th Day, imposing a list of restrictive DON'TS.
They accused Jesus of breaking the 4th Commandment, but Jesus, as Lord of the Sabbath, showed them properly it is RIGHT to DO GOOD on His Day.
The question isn't what the Bible says about prophesy in Jesus' church, for God makes it abundantly clear He still sends His Spirit of prophesy to those who believe.
The real question is, do we love Jesus enough TO BELIEVE HIS WORD, even if it goes against what our parents or friends or even our church teaches?
"Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God." Matt 4:4
Is it good enough to live by some of Jesus' words, or ought we live by all?
Jesus' Church, just as in apostolic times, would be preaching the ENTIRE Gospel message--the everlasting Gospel of the Kingdom of God. Rev 14:6.
As well as preaching the great themes of salvation; faith, grace, justification, sanctification, glorification, today's remnant Church would also preach to the world the keeping His Commandments, for according to Scripture:
"Here is the patience of the saints: here are they that keep the commandments of God, and the faith of Jesus." Rev 14:12

False Christ and false apostles and false teachers all have something in common: they lead others into sin, teaching against keeping God's commandments.
But Jesus says "If you love Me, keep My commandments." John 14:15
Therefore wherever His remnant church is today, they will be teaching love to Jesus.
This means 95% of churches are not teaching us to fully love Jesus, but the good news is, it does narrow down the search for the remnant Church, yes? (IF one is ACTUALLY searching). God bless.

I agree there are MILLIONS upon millions of believers who have the Holy Spirit in all different denominations, and even outside of the Church. I'll call this group the invisible Church, because we don't know exactly who they are.

The Levitical priesthood was commanded (not "encouraged") to be given tithe. Whom does God command us to give our tithe to today, that is, who receives our tithe now?

I would go a step further and say that God's true church is simply those faithful, commandment keeping people of God. God has elect scattered in every church, but when the truth is presented to them in pure rays of light, they will accept & separate from those churches they love & join hands with God's people. They will obey all of God's commandments out of love, & these commandments will be written in their hearts. This is the sanctifying result of true Faith and Grace upon the heart.

Paul says the less is blessed of the better, in the "less" (Levitical priesthood) men die, but in the better (Melchizedek priesthood) which received tithe He now lives evermore!

Yes, the remnant in Rev 12:17 & 14:12 that I'm asking you about are simply those at the time of the end who are saved by His grace and thus keep His commandments and have the spirit of prophesy.

@yastunt I do not believe that someone necessarily have to see something happen in order to believe it. However, that things in question MUST BE A REALITY. For example, if you tell me that one of your family members passed away, I don't have to see the dead body in order to believe it. Why? Because this is not unusual to us. We experience fact that people are being born and they die on a daily basis. But....

In our new testament times, the visible Church which Jesus entrusted His authority to was the apostolic Church. The Church leadership of course being Jesus' 12 disciples turned apostles, along with Paul & Barnabus & Silas & Mark & other notables.
Outside of the apostolic Church, there was no other Church leadership, was there?
The "prophets" were unto John. God now speaks through his Son.

In Rev 12:17 we see an important identifier of the true prophets in whom the Holy Spirit resides: they KEEP His commandments.
The false don't keep His commandments and are liars (1 John 2:4) and don't even know Jesus at all.
The disobedient might profess Jesus & seem outwardly to love Him, but inside their hearts are exposed to be far from Him if they don't obey Him.

Before, you didn't know what Scripture says about prophesying.
You thought John was God's last prophet, but over and over the NT shows us prophesy is one of the most sought after spiritual gifts, therefore we see many examples of TRUE prophets in the NT after John, and indeed Rev ch 12 & 14 & 19 tells us God would CONTINUE to give His gift of prophesy for those who believe.
But you do now know what Scripture says concerning prophesy. I urge you to yield to the Holy Spirit and BELIEVE His Word.

Paul defined the "elect" as His brothers in Christ. Rom 8:31-33. How many denominations were there? Just one.
His church today will be preaching and teaching exactly the same as the elect did back in apostolic times. That is a true test of a church. That is the church the Holy Spirit guides the wayward elect who come out of Babylon (Rev 18:4) to, the church that matches the apostolic church, the remnant church. God bless.

What did the High Priest give for sin? Gifts and Sacrifice. Jesus became the ETERNAL High Priest. He gave himself as a sacrifice and gifts like prophesy. Anyone who likes or allows them self to be referred to as a prophet usually isn't.

i was referring to the founder of this denomination, who practiced necromancy, made many false prophecies, added to Scripture, and behaved contrary to certain commandments, etc. this man seems very intelligent but i dont understand why he would put himself under submission to such nonsense. Jesus then received tithe from Abraham through the man and high priest Melchizedek. v2. Now Jesus is our High Priest and receives tithe no more through Levi.
Tithing as a COMMAND hasn't changed, it has always been one of God's avenues of blessing, but the priesthood has changed. BTW, where was the command for Abraham to tithe? ;)
I understand EXACTLY what you are saying, so look again at those Scriptures you are quoting and referring to.
NONE say God will not send anymore prophets or that prophesy has come to an end or that we don't need prophesy anymore. That is only your IDEA, but not what Scripture SAYS.

We are not saved on the basis of belonging to a church, eternal life is a gift He gives to all who pursue Him, who know Him, love Him, and follow Him. A saving relationship.
Yet, Jesus said "I will build My church." Matt 16:18. He didn't say "churches" with a Babylon of opposing doctrines and contradictory beliefs & practices. God is not the author of confusion. 1 Cor 14:33.
where does the Bible describe only one outward visible group? even in the early Church times, as we read in the letters of the NT there has always been external divisions in the visible church based on doctrine interpretation and practice and such. and in Revelation before the Throne of God in heaven there are Seven Angels over Seven Golden Candlesticks which are the Seven Churches of the world. each of these has there own particular strengths, some have great faults - none are perfect.
He says that they wanted God to destroy the enemies by force of arms. They wanted and earthly kingdom. Why not? That is exactly how God dealt with the Heathens around the Jews throughout their history. Did they know to accept or believe anything other?
They certainly did not believe Jesus would first have to die for their sins and the sins of the whole world before His earthly kingdom would be set up, even though that was there in Scripture had they read and believed.
@@Nirky For the disciples to believe that Christ was setting up a spiritual kingdom would cause an internal contradiction for them, don't you think? After all God often - it could be said that he always - dealt with Israel's enemies by force of arms. Is it any wonder that the disciples also thought Jesus would install an earthly kingdom? Yes, we have Isaiah 53 in retrospect along with various Psalms and other passages - but the Psalms are especially cryptic. Reading them you would never know that Jesus was speaking of Himself as a sin sacrifice.
Where in the Bible do we have evidence that people believed there would be a Christ that would die for their sins? It seems impossible - except for Isaiah 53 - to have any hint that anyone (and Isaiah certainly doesnt speak of God dying for the sins of mankind) could believe that salvation would come through the death of a person.
