+Sgman1991 pretty sure she's referring to how one formats the point they are conveying. A story helps to make arguments more clear.

+pri2x0x Yea anyone who has done any actual Parliamentary style debating would know this to be true.

In every single free market in history, the product ended up being "funneled from rich to poor".
The first iPhone, only the rich could afford, now everyone has one. The first plane ticket, car, computer, TV.
Now even spacex is trying to make space travel affordable.
But apparently, for some reason that escapes me, it will be different for organs? What logic is that?
I hate this kind of reasoning because it has been utterly and thoroughly debunked yet this myth that "only the rich will be able to afford it" still persist in every "we should introduce the market" debate ever. Whether is organ donation, blood donation, healthcare etc
Its just obnoxious at this point.

      How has it been debunked?

maybe bc organs cant be manufactured? and that oftentimes organs are only available through death of another person

It's not about only the rich being able to afford it, it is only the poor will offer their kidney for money.

Not only is your point unrelated to her argument, the only comparable purchase in your list of examples is a car. Do you see poors buying brand new cars for tens of thousands of dollars?

Couldn't we just make a system where you are evaluated on your lifestyles and medical condition? That would eliminate the poor selling for desperation and the already disenfranchised from screwing themselves over

    I'm shocked...
This topic crossed my mind several times but don't came to a conclusion, surly some values are very important but i'm open minded for both sides in a rational, logical way. To say right at the beginning, that she wants to get you out of a rational debate into an affective one is just shocked.
I'm not a cold person and really empathic, but i got the strength to differentiate to get to the truth and not beeing stuck into an illogical, irrational way because it feels better. So damn egoistic, but yeah present yourself on a silver platter by abusing emotions. This is the everyday tactic which ends in just black and white. Are you a good person or a bad person? Smells like SJW tactics...
