- Can I survive ENDGAME Terraria Calamity mod using possibly the hardest class to use, the TRUE MELEE class? True Melee class is basically melee class but your melee weapons don't shoot projectiles... it is a very hard class to use!

Stellar Striker is probably the best True Melee Weapon. It's usable until around Yharon. Although I have seen people use it against Supreme Calamitas in earlier versions.
doesn't stellar striker also have the beams that shoot from the top of the screen to your courser making it not true melee?
ohhh I think I get it. All the swords that dont shoot out stuff when not hitting an enemy is true melee because you need to hit the enemy with the sword for the beams to shoot out
@@gusmantacula8005 Those beams won't appear unless you do a True Melee hit on your enemies. We could say that is True Melee.
yeah, just set up a bunch of target dummies and kill her almost like a cheese. now murasama is actually viable/a thing so there's no reason to go with stellar striker though. wonder how this would work with the nerfed hp now

I don't think I could ever play true melee. The amount of time where the boss isn't getting damaged makes me die inside. If I'm not dealing damage, it's either a phase transformation, I'm not doing it right or ceaseless void

Actually now you can deal damage during phase transitions!
Get the Directional Swing mod to aim with swords, it's a lot better for true melee

I tried this a couple weeks ago. But I gave up on non projectile weapons once I got to the mech bosses.
Man the exo mechs patterns are SO different in normal mode compared to Malice......... Much slower and much much less frequent. Being able to pick up hearts sure sounds nice as well.

@@lazinator8285 to me anything that isnt malice or death mode is normal to me. Pretty much expert revengence is the normal way calamity is played.

Step 8 can be skipped if the material you are after is luminite. :)
Since the Draedon update, upon Moon Lords death, the sky generates *large* planetoids that contain massive amounts of both luminite and exodium clusters that basically provide you all the amounts of material you ever need, if those 2 are what you want. Like no joke, those things are absolutely massive.
You are right, I got around 4000 luminite ore from two planetoids itself. Too bad I noticed it while summoning storm weaver.
I never found those on my first playthrough
@@ivanthenerd That may be because they simply didn't exist in earlier versions.
If you played Calamity before the Draedon update, those planetoids did not spawn into the world, instead the existing planetoids gained veins of exodium clusters for the player to mine out, nothing else. They now spawn in dedicated extra planetoids containing both Exodium Clusters and Luminite for you to harvest, which I feel has been a great addition to calamity.

I've completed a Calamity run with all classes other than Rogue, which I'm working on right now at pre-Plantera (your guides are lifesavers btw)
And the melee playthrough was the hardest, despite using the strongest swords with projectiles. Well done man, respect.
Good job man, I love how you can still get Providence's malice drop without malice, and glad that calamity team reworked a lot of weapons, now I don't have to fight yharon with a pre DoG weapon nice

next calamity changelog: other bosses can no longer be summoned while exo mechs are alive. Pretty sad that you weren't able to use the directional melee but it happens

I'm pretty sure the Gliding Probiscuit does more damage than the Stellar Striker unless you hit all the stars, even then the Biscuit's heals are really good.

oh boy, what a challenge
though, you could've used directional melee mod, which could've made your true melee playthrough easier since with that mod you can aim your melee in any direction (pretty much vanilla 1.4 shortsword system but for every sword)
Man I hope relogic decides to bring modding to all platforms, this looks fun as hell
As far as i know, tmodloader is not made by re logic
it's impossible to make tmodloader on a phone, it will eat your phone + too much buttons to press

@@GitGudWO definitely better than me tho, although I only played terraria on pc for half a year, and played calamity like 5 or 6 times, which would make sense to why a lot of people are better than me at it lol, but you are definitely skillful though, true melee is quite a challenge

7:00 this flames homes on enemy and does a really good damage, why don't you use dummy from calamity (i don't remember how it's called) for your tests

There's the super dummy from Calamity which is pretty good, but luiafk has the best kind of dummy called the "improved dummy" but I don't know if GitGud had that mod installed

1:19 Ruthless gives the most dmg but I recommend using it on a fast weapon for lots of DPS but your true melee so it doesnt matter.

i know this video has been so labour intensive already but i kind of wanna see your health bar throughout the fight,, it kind of gives me an idea of how you felt during the whole time especially if you're really low - otherwise this is really amazing
Came late to the party but I had Calamity combined with weapon enchantments and bro.. legendary speed weapon ench is nuts with calamity weapons lol!.

Good on you for clarifying the difficulty you were doing it on, took the feedback like a champ. Why did you re-fight the moonlord though? After the first kill there's new sky structures comprised of exo clusters and luminite, more than enough for a single person's playthrough.
EDIT: I see you do go up there for some exo clusters at some point...but you only need a lunar pickaxe to mine through that and luminite so my question still stands on why did you re-fight moonlord for it. :P
Anyhoo, I did a true melee playthrough recently as well, though I did it in death mode from the start. T'was fun, good jorb on yours as well.

Yea I forgot about that, I've just noticed it again when mining for Exodium Clusters lmaoo
Providence has increased iFrames, making most of swords ineffective against her. BUT gilded proboscis ignores her iFrames which makes it so good weapon even pre-DoG
A few swords can fucking rip her apart for 10% of her hp if you can hit her for 2 seconds
I use Greatsword of judgement on Providence, it takes almost 3% of her health per second. I killed her without bothering with guardians. Also terror blade is great but is non homing.

@@GitGudWO stellar striker does probably still outclass it, but just saying, its fire projectiles also home in on enemies so it probably would have done more dps if you used a super dummy for testing

If you craft the absorber and the camper and set up a chamber with honey and heart lanterns, you can tank the profaned guardians (and providence) while standing still. This is especially possible if you have a nurse nearby.
I have beaten calamity on revenge mode before but seeing you do it true melee makes me want to try :)

useful tip for fighting providence, when I last fought her she didn't do any contact damage to the player but that was before 1.5 so idk now

Pro(?) Tip, for night provi, make a hell arena, make it as wide as possible, you'll get both biome rewards anyways, i say this for the inmense extra space the underworld offers for the fight, luck!
