He was one of the greatest! That win on Personal Ensign in the Distaff still sends chills down my spine when I see it. He suffered much to do what be loved. Rest in peace my friend.

Randy's life story is tragic and inspiring would advise any racing fan to check out the documentary.

I saw him ride at arlington park one year , and he destroyed the competition, win the riding title with a record breaking over 100 winners, outstanding!

"I´m very sick, but I haven´t give up. I know God is going to be with me no matter what. And I know prayers help"
    Randy Romero

Probably those words were the last ones Randy Paul Romero told to the press last June when he was in a hospice care due to a stomach cancer. And undoubtedly he proved to us to be an exceptional athlete and a very courageous man. Although Romero suffered an estimated of 25 fractures in racing spills and his body was severely burned in a sauna accident at Oaklawn Park, he returned to ride again and again with the same enthusiastic and optimistic attitude. Now he is in a quiet place where there is no pain, suffering or regrets. God bless you Randy! We will never forget you! My condolences to his family and his friends from Venezuela.
