Oh damn. I grew up in Bridgeton but left in the mid-90s after getting married & joining the Air Force. Lived in the Bridgeton Villas & Glen Park (not sure of their called that anymore).
The first recorded European settlement in what is now Bridgeton was made by 1686 when Richard Hancock established a sawmill here. Settlers established a pioneer ironworks in 1814. Bridgeton was incorporated as a township by an Act of the New Jersey Legislature on March 3, 1845, from portions of Deerfield Township.
I'm not too familiar with North Jersey honestly but the two are so far apart I'm not sure what difference it could make. And Bridgeton is about as far south as you can go, really far off the beaten path.
I use to live in bridgeton nj. I lived on walnut street. I worked at Major coat company. I dated Jerry Terrigno. He was a good guy. It looks like it's changed lot since I left. I miss it sometimes.
Im a pest control tech in this area. Some of the nicest people ever. Alot live on fixed income and gov assistance. I love bridgeton for the most part. turned into Mexico tho😂
I really don't know anything about Bridgeton but seeing this video tells me they have a lot of properties over 50 yrs old, but they cut the grass, keep the trash off the streets, and it's not an eyesore. Bridgeton looks like Beverly hills compared to where I came from in Kensington in Philadelphia. Look at vids of K&A , it will make you cry, drug addiction, trash everywhere, crumbling buildings and crime being committed with no consequences.
Why do a silent video? Anyone can do that. Talk instead and give us a vocal guided historical tour. Your videos give the impression you know nothing about the area.

I was born in Bridgeton in 1961. Our family moved when I was 5. Came and visited there three times.
