Cedric’s comments about the move from Tech to UT is wrong. UT did not have better basketball facilities than Tech. Also, Beard was the 3rd highest paid coach at Tech. Not sure where Cedric got his information.

While i agree that a change had to be made I also am discouraged that Del Conte has not made Sark apologize to the security guy from the bowl game. That man was just doing his job and probably just trying to make a little extra cash for his family. For Sark to treat him like a piece of trash speaks alot to his character and the program’s character. "The real make of a man is how he treats people who can do nothing for him." - Darrell Royal.

Cops were called, he was booked/charged, incident made the news including TV; No way he could stay. UT was not gonna have the "stench" of a domestic abuser attached to them. Cedric didn't fire the dude. UT doesn't like the bad publicity, Carlos. They are very PR sensitive, and the chatter indicates that similar incidents may have happened between Beard and girlfriend before up in Lubbock. They've been together six years after all. The fact that they did it for cause, and didn't simply negotiate a buyout tells me that they have more dirt on the coach. UT doesn't play around, bro. He made a serious error in judgment just 18 months into his tenure. He can always sue, but they will play hardball. That's UT's style!!

Nope. Leach tried to sue for wrongful dismissal and failed. Beard will try to do the same and fail. Has to be approved by the state legislature and that won’t happen, not in Texas. His claim of innocence doesn’t hold water or he wouldn’t have been fired.

His contract says he can be fired for cause if he is charged with a felony. Blame him for agreeing to that. That said if the charges are dropped or a plea deal is made for lesser charges he will likely find himself back in coaching at a smaller program in a few years.

This guy may or may not be a pos, but he is a great coach and he will be coaching another blue blood very soon. TX might as well have kept him. It happens in all ranks and all sports….a pos does something shitty and a year or two goes by and it’s as if it never happened. But since all the fans of “blue bloods” are looking all over to shut someone down on their look on things, I apologize for saying that the guy coached a blue blood.
