This is a complete disaster. I love Kyle, but we’re now ranked #67 in the team recruiting category. It feels like our entire program is falling apart. We need to immediately solve our offensive issues or things are going to get even worse. Anyway.. Go Utes!!!
I could see him sitting behind cam and playing the option all year I think he’d fit well doing that with us and we could really benefit from his ability to create explosive plays. And with him being the backups it’s only for one year and with a good rushing season this next season his senior season could be buzzing with hype. I think he sees a nice vision at Utah it’s just if he wants to take the risk of just starting one year over going somewhere else that’s less talented and getting the nod to start immediately. But either way he’s a great athlete and I’d even take him as a tailback lol
This guy ran for over 700 yards as a QB.That's more yards than Jackson ran this year.Maybe use him in the wildcat or just running back.Issac Wilson is going to be a very good QB for Utah,as well as Rose,so what's this guy looking for?
I don't think he wants to be a running back but I agree he would be fantastic in a 2021 Ja'Quinden Jackson type of package. I'm sure he wants an opportunity to play at the power four level. If he's looking at Utah that's in a limited capacity in 2024 and I think his goal would be to start at QB in 2025.
I doubt he'll be a qb here. Our qb room is filled with talent. He may come in and try to earn a spot on qb depth chart. Although..Whitt is notorious for making position changes. He may come in and fill a void in whatever scheme Whitt draws. I'm sure he'll fit in as a rb. Lol. Time will tell.
I don't get the point of picking up another transfer QB. We have Rising returning, Brandon Rose and then Isaac Wilson starting in the spring so he can be at spring camp. I think Utah is pretty set at QB so we need receivers and an O line. If Rising goes down, again, I'd rather that Rose get experience rather than benching him behind some transfer backup QB.
I agree receivers and offensive line at this point should be the priority. The coaches must feel Ashford would add a veteran dual threat dynamic that only Cam has. I think Brandon is ready to be the backup but the Coaches may feel differently.
What ifs??? What if Utah’s HC had used the Portal more aggressively to find a QB to replace Rising in time. Utah’s Coaching staff had to know the truth of Rising’s injury. With all the injuries that were discussed Utah also showed a lack of quality depth.
Based on their actions I genuinely think they thought Cam would be ready to go at some point in September or at least early October. Utah still finished the regular season 8-4 and had several players step up and impress when called upon. Whitt and everyone at Utah wants to win and they would have tried to find an experienced starter had they know how severe Cam's injury was.
By adding another competent QB that might have rubbed younger guys on the team the wrong way a lot quicker like Mack Howard and Nate Johnson. I doubt they knew the true severity of Cam’s injury. Honestly wish they just moved on from Cam completely so they could focus on grabbing other talented athletes from the portal because all the NIL money wouldn’t be going all to Cam and it would be a much more balanced team
Utah will have to adjust to losing the California recruits that will slowly dissipate out of the organization due to not having a profile for games in Cali

Great points and I think he must see the potential to contribute in that role knowing he won't beat out Cam.

Yep I think as the years go on we will continue to see Utah's recruits come from more states East.
@@jonathanwistrcill1336 hopefully we can put it towards Texas specifically too
