As a big Khalid fan this was definitely one of the biggest jaw dropping moments for me in RL history watching Khalid. I wanted him to win very badly, but Fairy Peak pulled off the best upset. Goosebumps even when i watch it back when Fairy types "be careful." I remember going "surely not, no, it cant happen like that" and it did. What a match from both.

As someone who only plays this game casually and knew nothing about these two players, this documentary was such an incredible way to experience the battle between these two titans for the first time! Both guys seem like great dudes, Khalid is so humble and such a good guy for immediately giving out compliments after a heartbreaking defeat. Fairy Peak is legendary for this series too. Saying “be careful!” When down 3-1 in the series, while also down a goal in a game with only seconds remaining is one of the coldest, most gangster moves I have ever seen someone do in a video game. Coming back and winning after a line like that sounds like something out of a fake story. Phenomenal work sunless, everything this guy has released lately has been golden.
i miss the days when the top tier players were just normal kids who could say stuff like "be careful!" as a little funny banter and still keep the match friendly, knowing there is mutual respect. the top players nowadays are so up their own asses they tilt off the face of the earth at the drop of a hat and write ten page papers on how pathetic and boring their opponent is every time they lose. it's made the overall playerbase harder to tolerate as well. complaints of your opponent ball chasing in fucking 1v1 have actually become legitimized to the point where most players use it as an actual excuse to why they lost to someone they deem inferior. i think young players have always molded their behavior after the pros and nowadays that means if you lose you have to throw a temper tantrum about how you only lost because your opponent is a ones main or ball chased or played so boring, preserving the belief that you are the superior player. the days of kronovi/marky/kuxir/fairy peak/khalid/joreuz at the top were the best. there were a few players who acted this way like scrub killa and yemen, but it was widely accepted that their behavior was a negative trait. even scrub, the king of tilt, would usually just act like a dickhead in defeat instead of making excuses and claiming he's still better.
I only got into Rocket League and this channel within the last 2 or 3 years maybe? While l do love the game, I don't think I eat, sleep, and breathe it the way I'm sure a lot of people here do. Yet another banger of a video. Thank you for pushing this game further and further with your amazing content.
I watched this live and it was one of the most hype moments in RL. It was like a David vs Goliath match where even though people were rooting for Fairy I don't think a single person would have bet their money on him beating the unbeatable Khalid.
Fairy Peak! One of the GOATs and one of my personal favorite RL pro. The mental fortitude and perseverance to keep toe to toe with Khalid was so fun to watch live, I’m glad you made a video out of it!
RL 1v1 is the only esports I follow and watch actively, and this was an awesome tribute to that incredible match. The way that oKhalid *dominated* the entire scene when he appeared was amazing. No one could get enough of watching him play, and it all led up to this series. It was SUCH a big deal, to watch the undefeated oKhalid play the returning GOAT. oKhalid and Fairy have IRONCLAD mentality and willpower, and I think that was another huge reason why this was so jaw-dropping. Two masters of the craft going at it with everything they had. Very well-made video :)
This is the best video on Rocket League I have ever seen! Sunless idk if you'll read this but I wanted to say I loved the documentary, but I think it could have benefitted from setting the scene a bit more. They hype everyone felt before this match due to the sheer dominance of Khalid at this stage versus the very recently fallen goat, plus the fact that this match wasn't just for the 1v1 tournament but Sandrock and Vitality were the only teams still able to win the whole tournament (I think, might need fact checking) meant that this match was HUGE before it even started. And then THIS happened. I know you set the scene a bit at the start but like I said I feel like this documentary, as good as it was, doesn't quite get across much more this was than just an extremely exciting 1v1 series. Everything about this is so well made. Sunless makes by far the most professional and memorable videos on Rocket League. This is probably the best video I've watched on youtube! Your editing is just on point, with the choice of music to the fade to blacks was just amazing!!!
I saw that match live and I couldn't believe my eyes! The atmosphere was incredible :) Thanks Sunless for bringing back memories! The craziest goal in there for me was the last goal in the match where Fairy says the famous words, then ties up the game, and with 3 seconds left, kickoff, takes the ball to the wall, goes as if for a flip reset, but instead boosts to the ground to keep the ball from touching it, fakes one side, shoots the other. Just perfect. I hope one of the other 2 matches you get to cover is Lethamyr - Firstkiller. That was another one I was lucky to see as it unfolded, and a masterpiece!
Love these type videos. Keep ‘em coming. The “be careful” moment is screen recorded on my phone. I sent it to my friends. Fairy literally flipped the switch. Epic!!!

One of the most memorable moments from RL Esports for me. I quote it nearly every week. I'm so glad you covered it Sunless, it genuinely is one of those moments that i think has flown under the radar
I love fairy, been watching him since the early days, what a legend. But Khalid is such a f'n gentlemen, what a solid human being. Instantly after losing the series he congratulates and compliments his opponent, in a series he was sooooo close to winning for a few games. What a stud, RL needs more players like that
I have always been and still am a big fairy fan. The way he plays 1s and the way he plays 3s is really beautiful. This tournament was just an amazing showcase of that. And seeing him back in the batmobile, after he has been inactive and typing that be careful just solidified it for me that he truly is the GOAT of 1v1
This really cemented Fairy as 1v1 goat because this was really at the end of his reign of terror where he was looking to be done with his 1s game and his domination. This really was a huge deal at the time.
While I have really enjoyed RLCS for a few years now, Ive never gotten too into the high level 1v1 scene. Really appreciated the perspective and context this video shows.

The music, the editing, the suspense and obviously the immense importance of this match and the respect shown between the greatest 1s players ever to exist, makes this whole video a masterpiece in and of itself. It deserves to be immortalised in a Hall of Fame somewhere.
amazing feeling watching this back! thanks sunless and thanks johnny for carrying the 1v1 scene, some of the best content for RL to this day
This was amazing, and now with RW9 and Zen a new era has brewed in the 1s scene!
Such a poetic series, can't believe this is the first time I've seen it. Great video, now I'm motivated to play ones.. until I remember I'm not Fairypeak or oKhalid
I was honestly in tears watching this, this is why i love the rocket League community. Thank you Sunless for always reminding us just how amazing this community can be!
Same
I would literally watch this video again and again because of the awesome soundtrack in the beginning (and to be honest, throughout the whole video). Absolute masterpiece of a video. The RL Community is grateful for a docu maker like sunless
This is probably the best video I've watched on youtube! Your editing is just on point, with the choice of music to the fade to blacks was just amazing!!!
Saw this live, had goosebumps the whole time.
I love that even tho I wasn’t into RL back then, its nice that I get to see what the scene was like back then thru these awesome videos!
Sunless is the only youtuber that can entertain me about 1 rocket league game for 16 minutes straight.
would of made sense if you didn’t post the comment 7 minutes after it was made
you copied this comment from a comment on waytons video… get real you fraud
@@OFFICIALASTELLA ye knew someone would say something about it, but i just skipped through the video to see the main point.
@@UnknownMelodies0 so it didn't keep you entertained for 16 minutes straight then....
@@fumbles4165 nah on for 8;) nah just playing, i watched 8 mins off it knowing it would be a good video then commented
I just love this series, i have literally gone back and rewatched that Bo7 multiple times over the years.
Gotta love Sunless storytelling 😅
Fairy is honestly insane I'm so glad he came back and dominated the competition against the best 1v1 player truly amazing.
Great video edits and great story!
Loved the slo-mo, different angles, and triple takes. Very cool
They need to add a "Be careful!" Quick chat
Love these type videos. Keep ‘em coming. The “be careful” moment is screen recorded on my phone. I sent it to my friends. Fairy literally flipped the switch. Epic!!!
Lmao the difference between khalid and zens reactions to losing is hilarious😂
what did zen say i missed it
So your judging a 15 yo kid for being immature, interesting...
@@geromejean stop giving players excuses, immature kids shouldn’t be allowed to play
@@dstn87godz52 lol, you shouldnt be allowed to play judging others
@@dstn87godz52 what is this logical lmfaooo. Today if some people dont have the stereotypical perfect behavior they get trashed by npc's like you telling us they shouldnt be allowed to play.
this has gotta be one of the greatest Rocket League videos ever. i know the matchup was something in itself, but they way it was put together here was astounding.
Where is episode 2???
This is such a dope video. It brings back sooo many memories. The good old days of Rocket League. Its good to see such videos to relive those days
Jesus' reincarnation vs Mohammed's reincarnation no way they rematched after so many centuries.
Both Jesus and Mohammad were from the Middle East tho
@@fishermen7273 makes it a local match
As soon as I saw the title (even before the thumbnail) I was HOPING it was "be careful!" - so good!
Bro renamed this video like 5 times now💀
9:00 that connection to quick chat and the turn around.. Sunless, you need to make movies, man. Absolutely king with these tributes to other kings.
Just amazing!
I come back and rewatch this series once in a while and everz time I get nervous and pumped. I remember watching it and the emotions I had while the 3-1 and "be careful!" was happening. I wish I could forget it to rewatch it without knowing who wins it :)
Thanks for the trip down memory lane!
i find it very symbolic that the same catch and dribble in FP!'s comeback game to tie was replicated in game 7 OT to win the whole thing. just wow... what a series to watch live, and what a worthy production to revive this memory once more. great job to Sunless, Johnny and both of these amazing players.
jared, i honestly love your videos so much and they have kept me interested and watching rocket league youtube even when im not playing anymore. I have the utmost respect for what you do and the content you make for this community. never change❤️
I love these cinematic story telling type vids. I was so invested in that. Great vid :)
Lovely to watch this match again. Your videos make me wanna go get some popcorn and watch your whole catalog! Amazing Mini Movies
One of my favorite types of videos that just makes you happy that you invested your time into watching the story! Love the vids bro
I'm 10 seconds into this and already pumped...I love your video making skills sir sunless!
As always well done! Youve captured the gripping moments perfectly!
this has got to be one of the most cinematic things ive ever watched dude this is insane and makes me wish i kept up with rl history more also made me remember how quality khans content is
I remember this. Just an extended adrenaline rush when that Batmobile appeared on top of what was already an insane adrenaline rush from the get go.
Absolutely huge moment, one of a kind and priceless
This is the best RL video I've ever seen. The quality is unreal. Keep it up sunless and team!!
honestly i had already watched this match up but this was an excellent presentation on the sheer insanity of this momentous game. very well put together sunless
I remember watching this series, and it was one of my favorite matches ever played between 2 players ever.
+1
one of the greatest videos about rocket league I've ever seen! Had goosebumps nearly the whole time! Can't wait for more videos like this !
The best youtuber and the best caster, what a duo. This was super well done, id watch a whole series of this lol. Just Johnny and sunless recapping the important moments in rocket league
And seeing him back in the batmobile, after he has been inactive and typing that be careful just solidified it for me that he truly is the GOAT of 1v1
chills my man. all I got is chills. love the documentary type style.
This really cemented Fairy as 1v1 goat because this was really at the end of his reign of terror where he was looking to be done with his 1s game and his domination. This really was a huge deal at the time.
Commented this before watching the vid lmao, Johnny ends up explaining exactly what I said lol whoops
Love this so much, gives me the chills seeing Fairy Peak come back and win it! True GOAT plot. Over here getting hyped in my chair at home!
While I have really enjoyed RLCS for a few years now, Ive never gotten too into the high level 1v1 scene. Really appreciated the perspective and context this video shows.
People complain there's no content to make for Rocket League, yet Sunless just continues to smash everything out of the park.
Honestly one of your best videos. I'm always looking to see if you've uploaded and then when you do, it's a masterpiece. Great job!
everyone reminiscing about fairy’s amazing run , but this is you sunless , you absolutely killed this video , so many people struggle to find content in the rocket league scape , trust me this video will blow up , you found it sunless , the diamond people have been searching for
