yeah need bigger fans, especially if you want to get good volume in (and accross a basement) I looked at that dual fan thing to ventilate my mining cupboard which sits in the garage, ended up just drilling holes out and mounting 120mm fans instead - a lot cheaper but a bit ghetto
I removed my 90 degree bends in my ducting and the back pressure on the exhaust decreased thus lowering my Grow tent temps. Remove the bends in the ducts and any cover plates that will cause back pressure.
Had those mufflers and returned them, they restrict flow by half. the key to a quiet exhaust is to run the duct AFTER the fan. Your fans should be the starting point. The allows the sound to die off as it travels through the ducting.
I used to have the same kind of windows in my basement too. What I had to do was install real windows ($800 each) and build a wooden frame inside of them for intake and exhaust. intake had a frame with screen framed in and exhaust had the same thing except for the 18in fan that was mounted on box that was attached to the frame. I wish I could post pictures here but I can't. I works really well. I'll try to post it on your Discord channel.
I’m looking into getting a grow tent set up like yours. 2 8in fans exhausting. Have about 24 gps over 1kwatts. Would I benefit from a larger tent? 48x48x80 or even 96x48x80 I have to lots of room in basement. I would think if I could space them out more and not stacking them up the Gpus would run cooler.
It comes to air in and air out for those fans and the amount of heat your trying to eject. I would see if you can build a filter for that window and just have more exhaust pulling out. I got the 12 inch version of that infinity for my asics in my room and i think you can set for humidity too. I can usually keep mine at the ambient temp that is outside unless its high humidity or raining.
I use infinite. They cost more but they also use a lot less watts. I have a 6" and an 8" exhausting my grow tent of 1+gh. Keeps it about 78-80 degrees in the top of the tent. Exhausting everything into my ventilation system. I'm about to set up my 2nd grow tent in the attached garage in between 2 windows to use as intake and outake. If you use a detached structure for business use it could void your insurance for the structure without the appropriate incidental business endorsement depending on your insurance company.
There is a formula for heat removal. People underestimate how much cfm and exhaust u need to remove heat. Im running 3200 watts of rigs in my basement. I need 1000 cfm of exhaust for 3200watt. Yes. That much for so little. That means my fresh air intake grill from outside needs to be 18x24. Thats size grill can handle 1050 cfm of air flow. 1000cfm also need 14" round hard pipe duct. And 16" if your using flex duct. If your pulling 1000cfm you need to intake 1000cfm. No more or less. People vastly undersize their airflow in these tents.
Hi Mike, are you happy with the 8inch Infinity or would you recommend larger? Did you go with the S or T model? Last, I have 600MH which is cooking me in my small home office. I don't have a basement sadly, and am soon moving to Texas where it will become even hotter. Do you recommend one or two 8inch units for a single grow tent? (or 10in or 12 in)
8 inch is what I've always used, but going bigger with a variable speed fan can't hurt. Hard to determine exactly what should you do because each situation is different. AC infinity are very, very nice fans. I have one T model and one S model.
Hey mike. I rewatched this video on my tv and I now see you have two 8” exhaust fans and two unknown returns. Do you have fans on the returns blowing air into your grow tent? If I’m starting with 600MH, would it be better to start with one of these grow tent setups with a single fan?
Yeah I have a similar 5700 rig… my only 5700 is also dumb and does 22 MH/s… if I reboot one out of 20 times it’ll go up to 51MH/s but for the most it does 20ish
I was surprised by the number of invalid shares. In my case I am botherd by a single invalid on a single card and I make adjustments. Am I doing this wrong? Should I be clocking up and ignoring them somewhat? How many invalid shares is a "bad" number? Honest questions here...
I never had a problem with invalid shares until the 30 series GPUs came out. I've tried changing clocks and everything but have more or less just accepted I'll have invalids.
It is easier to exhaust the hot air, than to bring in the cool air. Always remind that outside air contains also humidity, which can make electric components bad.
I see your 3070s have the same problem as my founders I just got. cant seem to get rid of the rejected shares no matter what OC I try (using lolminer atm since its a mixed rig and NBminer stopped updating since november) kinda strange that ethermine does not register any rejected shares so makes me wonder if the miner is catching them b4 they hit ethermine or the miner not reporting right and there are no rejected shares? if I push my windows rig with a ftw3 3090 too hard with the OC it gets rejected shares and they do show up on ethermine. setting the 3070 to wait like 40sec b4 applying OC in hive does help a bit but im getting annoyed. I'm guessing you just gave up on that problem? lol
@redfoxcrypto do a head to head with a 8 inch TERRABLOOM again a little lower CFM but you save over 60% on the electric which with savings go to a 10 inch TERRABLOOM htat still saves 40% on electric and gives more cfm then the AC Infinity 8 inch
I have the 10inch terrabloom. Works well. I do have an 8inch to 10 inch reducer but that's because the hole in the grow tent is 8"... Ha works just fine anyway
Hello gentleman, could you please help me choosing the right card, I write down my choices: These are the 3070 Tis with price tags (after tax) in my region: Asus Strix: $1030 Asus Tuf: $900 Zotac AmpHolo: $900 Gigabyte Aorus: $885 Zotac Trinity: $825
I bet that silencer would be nice for neighbors who are close to that fan outlet especially if its pointed towards your neighbors. That way they wont hear your fans running from outside your house!!
That is typically the purpose of these silencers, muffling the noise going out. This can be especially important for security reasons because loud exhaust fans coming from a basement window can attract unwanted attention.
Just in time, I'm getting 2 tents in today; gonna set one up and do a video on it. I've got basically 2 intake and 2 exhaust 8" fans. But dude, I also moved 3 of my rigs into the garage and the basement is already lower in temp (I think we have a similar setup). Dropped by 4-5 degrees just by doing this, adding the tent will further drop the temps. Had a HORRIBLE and hot day Sunday dude (27 degrees c) and I was like, I better do something legit 4.2 GH in a small basement = oven. Cheers.
Hey brother. I've found the ac infinity shutter fans to be amazing at moving air. I would suggest building a box or wood plate to fit one in your basement window I got a 10 inch one on mine does over 1000cfm.
I built a 7x7 room in my basement and use 2 8in AC Infinity inline for exhaust and recently built a frame around the intake window and installed 2 of their 10in shutter fans for intake. Going to upgrade the 8in inlines to 10" here soon. The 8" have been running flawlessly non stop for over 3 years now. I use a 14x30 furnace filter on the outside of the window for filtration. The BT connection is nice when I'm home, but wifi or ethernet connection to the controller would be ideal to check temps from anywhere on my phone. Wish they would make that feature available
I have 120mm fans attached to my rig inside the tent do you recommend to disconnect them. My tent doesn’t seem very effective. For now running 10 3070 ti. Could be it moving hot air too much back and forth? Thanks for your videos always enjoy them.
Thanks for the kind words. I've ever used 120mm fans on any of the rigs in the tents, but I can't imagine it would hurt. Just might be tough with the 3070 Tis those cards run so toasty already.
You need to do hard tubing. Made a big difference in my air flow and temperatures more then I expected. I posted a video when I do it was inspired by chump.
AC Infinity makes great stuff. I use 7 of their inline fans for air flow. I would think the silencer wouldn’t really help on sound since the rigs are so loud….
I have a “SpiderFarmer” grow tent for my rigs and added filters to the intakes! I’m cleaning the GPU’s way less often!!!
Love that man ! AC infinity fans sound like the way to go for sure. Love seeing all your rigs on HiveOS too man, you got a great setup ✌
yeah need bigger fans, especially if you want to get good volume in (and accross a basement)

I think the small window intake fans will restrict intake airflow with dual 8" exhaust fans!

What are you doing for the summer? are you using the tent again?

The only noise in a typical grow tent setup is the inline fans, so I imagine it does well for that one fan. Especially the larger versions.
Ac infinity is awesome. Definitely check out their AV rack coolers if you have a nicer AV receiver.
I’m looking into getting a grow tent set up like yours. 2 8in fans exhausting. Have about 24 gps over 1kwatts. @red fox crypto when not run (2) t12s with the filters on them in place of your window fan intake???

Hey Red Fox, so you are saying that 65-70c on core is ok to run?!
@red fox crypto - what level (example 30%, 50%, 100%) do you run those 8" exhaust fans at and what are the dimensions of your tent?
Yeah I have a similar 5700 rig… my only 5700 is also dumb and does 22 MH/s… if I reboot one out of 20 times it’ll go up to 51MH/s but for the most it does 20ish

Hey Red Fox where can I get some founders edition or non LHR cards to start on this journey? Any models you can recommend or a website
Not sure where you are located, but Best Buy seems to the best bet right now for new. Otherwise you are looking second hand.
@@RedFoxCrypto Much appreciated!
Try to reduce those 90 degree angles
I agree with you about the infinity fans vs vivo fans, there is just no comparison to Ac infinity.
I Appreciate your comment. You can reach out to me for more info and guidance. Thanks for watching.!
Is a 10" Infinity overkill?

Is there any particular reason you're not dual mining? My 6700xt rig is actually very efficient mining eth/ton with TRM.
I did for a little while, but stopped. No real reason.

100% gave up. Never had the issue on any of the 10, 20, or 16 series GPUs I mined with before the 30 series.
108. Yikes dude. Where is that sensor located?
Back of the tent. Only 42C Ill take it!

I think you neighbor thinks the silencer is worth it!
My tent has been upgraded so many damn times. I remember your earlier video on this which I’ve used when building. Exhaust, exhaust, exhaust. Legend
My man.
Don’t forget that silencers cut your flow.
Seems to be doing well so far.
I think the answer is 3070 FEs and 3060ti FEs and F the rest of these cards. Everything else is so dang hot... it's nutso....
Thanks for sharing your thoughts Jim. Stay connected, feel free to hit me up via mail
if the basement intake fan is off, do the fans still spin from the exhaust fans?

Yeah buddy. I just moved the 7x3090 out into the garage to join a couple rigs out there. Summer will be here before I know it. I need to get going.
Hey brother. I've found the ac infinity shutter fans to be amazing at moving air. I would suggest building a box or wood plate to fit one in your basement window I got a 10 inch one on mine does over 1000cfm.

Yep.
I guess, but it's a sponsored video so it's free. The duct fan silencers also didn't do much either.

ha, my tent is getting delivered today. impeccable timing.
You need to do hard tubing. Made a big difference in my air flow and temperatures more then I expected. I posted a video when I do it was inspired by chump.
Yeah man that looks great. Maybe once I move everything into the garage.
@@RedFoxCrypto good idea was a bit in parts and time but super worth it.
Just vent the whole room. That tent is pointless.

AC Infinity makes great stuff. I use 7 of their inline fans for air flow. I would think the silencer wouldn’t really help on sound since the rigs are so loud….
