UK Scaler Nationals, Spring 2024. RC Crawler Event

It's that time of year again. The Spring 2024, UK Scaler Nationals in the heart of Derbyshire. 3 days of trailing at Bracken Rocks, bringing some of the best builds and some of the best performers out on the same trails for a mixture of mud, rock and madness.
Day one saw a break in the week's rain to supply us with warmth and glorious sunshine to give mixed conditions on the dappled trails. The first three competition runs took place with a Hill Climb a "Comp-ish" and the obligatory Mud Run.
Day two welcomed back the rain with torrential showers interspersed with warmth and sunshine, making it tricky to get the clothing right. Three competition runs became two and both of those were semi-mud runs on the same course; one driven normally and one driven in reverse. There was the usual light-hearted prize-giving and then the legendary raffle with everyone crossing their fingers for one of the rigs on offer.
Day three looked like it was back to being good weather but lots of us had headed home by this point, left to wish we'd stayed, as we looked at friends' photos online.
This year, the event was raising money for Parkinson's UK, a national charity researching Parkinson's Disease and supporting those suffering from this awful malady.

Hopefully soon. It was a case of carpe diem with the last two. I didn't actually get all that much footage, though. Too busy having fun and trying to keep up with my heavyweight D90!

You'll have to hop on a train for the next one in October. Stay in Matlock and I'm sure you can get a lift or even a taxi to the site!
You don't need to go with friends. There are plenty of ready-made friends there as long as you're into RC 4x4s.

It's supposed to be good. I've never been but it's at the same place, so I suspect it'll be great.
