I'm grateful for the fact that Angry Kid has returned, I was in disbelief when I saw the first new episode! However, I must say that it was the original stop motion puppetry / mask replacement animation which really gave Angry Kid its charm. It was this style that made Angry Kid as visually fascinating and unique as it once was... It even complimented the show's dark humor in a way; the stop-motion movement was quirky, yet very well done, making Angry Kid's world seem all the more off-kilter. THIS season is the best, and I'm glad it's all been re-uploaded! The CGI Angry Kid head just looks overly polished and the movement is almost too fluid for my liking. Although I much prefer the older visual style, I respect Aardman's experimentation with Angry Kid, as it has allowed the show to evolve. With CGI, there are more possibilities with what Angry Kid can do... plus, I imagine it's a lot less time consuming and costly. I'm eager to see how far boundaries are pushed with this new CGI approach and its possibilities. The sense of humor has changed a bit too, the newer episodes aren't nearly as disturbing or dark as the older ones, which was a let down (because I loved how strange the show once was). It seems like Angry Kid has been toned down quite a bit. I'm not trying to sound overly analytical or come off as a pretentious critic, and I'm not even trying to bash Angry Kid. I just can't say that I'm in love with the new Angry Kid, but I won't give up on it just yet!

This reminds me of Lee Hardcastle’s animations; the only differences being the less gritty character designs & less choppy frame rate, and of course this is more comedic than disturbing. However, and I don’t really know what makes me think this, there is some kind of eerie element to this. With that said as previously stated this is still really funny. This odd blend of shock humour and slapstick really does put a smile on my face.
I first watched this series in maybe 03 or 04 when a friend lent me the DVDs and until now, hadn't seen it since. But, I've spent most of the last 13 years referring to my son as Captain Thunderpants in honour of this show
