FYI i am really bad at pronouncing things and DEADSY is stylized DÆDSY so i have been mispronouncing it for 20 years. its DEAD-see lol. thx for listening!
I absolutely love your podcast. Keep it up. Love hearing your research on music. Fantastic. You should make some playlist of music! Absolutely dig this freform ramble.
bro these podcast episodes are working as a PERFECT "body double" strategy for me. You talk to us like we're sitting in the room with you, so it tricks my brain into letting me get things done lmao thank you
A majority of the time I watch/listen while I'm doing household stuffs and because I can't really be involved in the comments, especially during live streams and with my phone being across the room or with soapy hands, I find myself talking, agreeing or even arguing out loud in a room with only me, myself & my phone 😄
BOZE i hope you know you desered that award and more! You're amazing at what you do and a good person, you'll get the next one and you'll always have my vote! :)) lot of love, I'm always here to support
I ironically dreamed about meeting Boze last night. (first time ever dreaming of her) She was showing me her really cool apartment, she greeted me and smiled said I was taller in person walked away and returned with a medical mask on 🤣🤣🤣 and now I get podcast boze YAY
I love how I can check out some of these bands and enjoy the music and hear it from Boze perspective. I love the break room and you just talking about stuff. You’re amazing Boze. You got me for life, excited to watch your journey
deadsy is one of my favorite bands, it's kinda rare to see anyone mention them. they tried to release commencement a few times on different labels. the original/demo one is my favorite because the track order makes more sense (commencement is first). also there's a longer version of she likes big words with a sax solo in the middle on youtube, wish they kept that for the album version
I absolutely love this, just here with my tea listening to the gossip. yes I love this channel and the her others. she really is just so fun to watch. keep up the good work boze and team
I am trying to listen to this during my break at an Elementary School because I am a teacher. I heard Orgy and became interested as I saw them 20 years ago as well, but I am 42! I thought you were going to mention Failure who similarly fell off, but originally produced a song A Perfect Circle made called the Nurse who Loved Me and I saw them at a small venue in 22. I am a teacher wearing a Tool Fear Inoculum shirt. I have to rewatch this ASAP!
36:58 at the beginning, I was worried I was gonna be real bored for this one. I was wrong, I am enjoying your rambling. You’ve got some interesting stuff in your head and I find it interesting when you share what’s going on up there 😊
Omg I haven't even thought about this band in 20 years. As a 17 year old, I loved their music, I totally had that blue arm band and white plastic chain necklace. The lead singer is Cher's son, P. Exeter Blue, with Greg Allman I believe. Man this takes me back. I LOVED them! (I'm only 10m in, so maybe Boze covers this later on 😅)
I like to say I’m an extroverted introvert; hear me out tho, I enjoy spending a lot of time alone yes and I feel recharged by doing that; but when I am with my friend of 19 years I can talk for hours and not get tired. Literally we talked on the phone for four hours the other day and I felt absolutely fine and not stressed doing that but when it comes to going out in public or being around more than 5 people in my close proximity the anxiety starts. This is the way my brain works 😅 so boze I feel as if I can relate to what you said about that
Randomly found your video when I was looking up Deadsy on here. Deadsy actually formed in 1995 & had released what was a self-titled album in 97 that featured a song called "Sleepy Hollow" that Jonathan Davis did vocals on. Their self-titled was basically songs that ended up on "Commencement" as well. But Elijah is super talented.. People write him off a lot because of who his parents are & his battles that he's gone through, but he is extremely talented. Both "Commencement" & "Phantasmagore" were super good albums. It's sad that Deadsy was so underrated & got kind of overlooked in the industry, because I would have loved them to hit it huge. I'm still waiting to see if Elijah ever chooses to release the "Subterfugue" album that they had teased for several years now.. I keep trying to hold onto hope, 'cause I so badly want more music from them. 😂
I saw Deadsy live when I was in college. I nearly fell over when meeting the bass player after the show and he made fun of me a bit and I'll always remember that.
Omg I LOVE Orgy! I tried to get into Deadsy and I remember press kinda fell off beyond that debut album so they kinda disappeared. But Orgy… so good, I still bump Candyass and Vapor Transmission regularly 💜
Weird, I am in my 30s now but earlier this week at like 4am I felt the extreme need to listen to the first (very first) MCR album which I haven’t heard in like 15-20 years 😅 I even had to download Spotify to do so because I literally don’t listen to music ever. But I felt SO compelled to go back to that 15 year old brain space 😮
Chicago Illinois comes up way too often in the weirdest ways. I’m just glad this story wasn’t about political corruption! If you ever come to chicago try the italian beef.
your body being in one place but your head not really being there is a form of dissociation (i’m not a psychologist but i’ve been doing a lot of research lately about my experiences dissociation of multiple levels/forms being a few). That definition made a major difference for me for some reason, so i figured i’d share
I used to think I was so in love with deadsy. Looking back, I liked 4 of their songs and thought they were super cute so I tolerated the rest of their songs
I have not watched it. But the Surprise Witness does a whole thing on Cher conservatorship, she is a trained lawyer and looks into a lot of this. She was part of the free Brittney movement. So if anyone wants to understand that case more. Maybe worth a look. ❤ Boze! Love these episodes
The drum beat for Mansion World I'm pretty sure was sampled from Tom Pettys Don't come around here no More ( they sound identical) so that might be why it sounds correct from a pop music stance
Okay! I’m absolutely mesmerized by this whole video! I SWEAR!!…sometimes I go on these random mind trips like this! Not all the time or even often. But the way you’re even describing being caught by this concept, or thought and just following it! It’s everything my mind does on these trips! So in short.. I just did this last week accidentally, when I had TH-cam on, and after my video was over I was in my phone not paying attention. When a music video comes on. I was SO STRUCK by this gothy metal lead singer! He was GREAT! But his band didn’t compliment him at all! He could’ve been right there with NIN & Orgy or Bush even? He was so cool but completely missed his era with his awesome voice! So I did some googling and found out he’s Dutch, & saw he’d been in a few bands one being almost folk like. But he just never really found where I wanted him to be. He really could’ve been great & I just went down a whole rabbit hole on this guy for a good 5 hours lol!
I feel like you'd like DPR Ian He expresses his struggle with D.I.D in music and the videos are edited by him so it all just hits in a way that someone who hasnt been through it cant explain
omg I remembered key to gramercy park like a month ago and got curious and found out about the conservatorship Cher is trying to put Elijah in. I watched a BJ investigates video about it so I def went down the rabbit hole too LOL but I didn’t know about the religious aspect. so weird
FYI i am really bad at pronouncing things and DEADSY is stylized DÆDSY so i have been mispronouncing it for 20 years. its DEAD-see lol. thx for listening!
Love the unhinged episodes, makes me feel less crazy. As long as we never meet who cares if we're all parasocial?😆
I learned this year tarot isn't pronounced like carrot

@@lynnanderson1538 I freaking love you for that.

“…and now that I’m not stressed, I don’t know what to do” is so me 😂
I find it hilarious that I jus so happened to open the comments and read yours at the exact time she said that baha

also some of their best songs (in my opinion) aren't on spotify or any albums. listen to This Goodnight and Colossus :)
I love all your videos but I really enjoyed this one, I’m a total music nerd. I’d love more music related content!
Bro I LOVE MANSION WORLD !!!! I just got so pumped when you said what song you were talking about 😂
Ngl I never looked into what any of the lyrics meant, it's just such a bop. I'm enthralled right now.
