Really amazing build! This helps me a lot for grasping more ideas about welding a rack myself, thanks a lot for sharing!

One guy who builds motorcycles in Japan used the same method of bending tubing, but he filled his tubes with sand so it would hold the form and prevent kinking. I love the bike!

Thanks! I've seen that before, with this small of tube (1/2") it wasn't worth it but with something like exhaust or frame tubes it would be.

Love it! Exactly the type of video I’m looking for to build my own. Gonna use the same type rack for the Vintage 1000, 2022

Awesome! Yea, you definitely don't want it to break on a Vintage 1000.

Outstanding work, exactly what I would like for my bike.
If you want to have it perfect, you have to manufacture it by yourself👍

Quick quesitons, do you think I would be able to make the bending method if I used solid bars . Is there any advantages of using fire to make the metal bend easier?
Is that mig or tig welding? Gas or wire fed? I am about to buy a welding machine and I think I want mig wire fed
    I love your bike!

You can use solid bar, it is just harder to bend and will make the rack heavier when finished. Heating the tube makes it easier to bend without kinking. I use a mig welder with gas, it is one of the cheaper processes you can use and still get decent results. Thanks.

How many miles is that engine good for before you have to rebuild it? I’ve seen a LOT of videos on you tube but I think I’ve enjoyed your channel the most, thanks for the great content. 👍😀👍. My dad had a van just like that for work, only it was about ten years old at the time...

It's a little hard to say mileage, one mile off road is a lot different than one mile on road but they'll usually last as long as you maintain them properly. I've gotten engines running that were never rebuilt since new and they're still going.

Was that 1/2” electrical conduit or something thicker. Do you think electrical conduit would work?

This was just 1/2" metal tube from Lowe's, they may also have it at places like Ace Hardware or Tractor Supply. Conduit may be a little weaker but it also usually has a galvanized coating on it which is supposed to make toxic fumes if you weld or grind on it.

Why would you cover part of the seat? It should be set further back.
