Big French Key - Best Roatan Shore Excursion

- During our recent cruise on Symphony of the Seas, we had the best day at Big French Key in Roatan. It was by far our favorite shore excursion with small children. The protected beach area, amazing service, and beautiful water might be one of our all-time favorite beach spots. If you are visiting Roatan or Honduras anytime soon and are looking for some beautiful and safe beach destinations, look no further than Big French Key! Here are some the highlights from our visit and favorite things about Big French Key and the port of Roatan.

Looks beautiful!! So, from the cruise port you take a 30 minute bus ride and then get on a boat? how long is the boat ride?

Yes lunch was included! It was a local buffet right next to the beach in a pavilion.

Yes it was. It was also PACKED! Short ride…10-15 min.
Hey loved you video looks like the family had great time. My question is I've been to Honduras twice but with carnival ill be headed back if I purchase big French key would I be able to go to little French key that side seems to be more interesting with more things to do thank you in advance.
Yes you can definitely swim to the other side. They right next to each other 😊
@Allen Niesinov I've been there before I didn't know if you can hang out on the other side because I like little French key way better thanks again.
What time did y’all return to port? When booking through RC it says 5 hours which puts you back at port at 1:30? Were you able to request to stay a little later? Thanks!

Yes there is a bar with extensive drinks. No other food for purchase other than the included buffet.

Water looks so clear and very relaxing! I'm planning a trip here next month. I was reading some reviews online. Many people mentioned that they have caged tigers on the property and that their habitats were not very humane. Was this your experience as well?
There are two “French Keys”….I believe the other side had caged animals, swimming pigs, etc… It definitely wasn’t visible where we were and we didn’t notice any exotic animal feedings/tours on our side. There’s “Big” French Key and “Little”…Two separate resorts on side by side islands.
What month did you cruise..looks amazing
March of 2022! We find it’s great Dec-May. Rain and tropical storms/hurricanes peak in July-Oct

Would you suggest bringing cash for sodas or drinks etc? Roughtly, how much do drinks cost?
Thanks for watching! I would bring cash for drinks and they do take US dollars. They serve complimentary water and tea, but if you want any sodas or alcoholic beverages, that will cost you extra. The prices vary depending on what you get! Sodas are on the low end, under $5. Of course the alcoholic drinks and fresh squeezed coconut water was up there, I can’t really remember the exact $ amount unfortunately!
Hi where did you get your swimsuit?
Just curious what they offered for lunch? We are vegan, hoping that they have something for us.
They had rice, fish, veggies and beans!
Do they give you a choice for lunch?

Yes, it’s private! This was by far our best and cheapest shore excursion!

Did Big French Key provide beach toys, or did you bring your own?
They had some free stuff and also included stand up paddle boards, snorkel gear, etc…plus, lunch buffet, and a piñata for the kids. There was a cash bar and a shop to buy extra stuff.
