Chairperson's whiteboard super is actually one of the best in the game. It heals you and gives you 4 bars of guts (the most in the game). The super is great but her own attacks are weak because she canonically learned Dan's martial arts from mail order booklets. Her burning vigor attack is also hilarious.
Yeah. That is why I like about Chairperson. Also I like how she looks really tired when she wins a fight. I wish she appears again in a new RS game but using more Saikyo style moves
Get the emulator or get a Dreamcast and burn the game. If you have an older model the game will work, if not you'll need a loader. There is an option to burn the loader and the game on the same disc.
The game itself practically allowed you to play an RPG style gameplay of the schools. And you could create your own character and mix and match moves. Hasn't been anything like it release from Capcom in over 2 decades.

Max, I would appreciate you working your mojo to get fighting game fans to ask Capcom for a Rival Schools Collection. The BEST collection would include all three games with fully translated school sims and board games that were left out of Western releases, as such modes would be best received now than 20 years ago!
@@ignaciojohnjoy it’s Capcom, they won’t release any new game from an established yet dormant franchise without a collection to (misguidedly) gauge (financial) interest. Even when Mighty No. 9 set Kickstarter records, they didn’t put Mega Man 11 into production until fans bought multiple new Mega Man collections. Besides, the Rival Schools games have never been rereleased on consoles since 2000 (the only digital release was the PS1 port on Japan’s PS3 PSN), so plenty of old fans & new would appreciate it. They should have announced it upon Akira’s reveal last year and released soon after so we could have a year to enjoy it in anticipation of her release (would have made all the references in SFV make sense).

One of the many vast oversights in CAPCOM's IP tank. This series, if done correctly with these mechanics and more, would be a big deal. They have plenty of leadway to flesh out the character backgrounds and fan service the hell out of it.

I love that Batsu would do team ups for his ultimate in Tatsunoko v Capcom, and it changed based on your partner's fighting style. AND, and if your partner was KO'd Batsu would do it alongside their ghost while weeping MANLY TEARS.
I played both the Shiritsu Justice Gakuen and Project Justice when they dropped on their respective platforms and it warms my heart that they're getting some much-deserved love. Here's hoping Capcom picks up on that and hands the reins over to Itsuno, to direct.
This is the one part I loved about project Justice the most. I really wish it got either re-released or at best a sequel. But until then, we have what we have and I'm glad that we still have it. Great video, Max
The Japanese version of this game had a super fun "Adventure Mode" for Create A Character. Could never play the NA version after playing the JP version. The game is very special to me, and the Dreamcast is still my favorite console of all time due to just how many games it had that are equally special to me as Project Justice.

This video and the Akira legacy made me realise for the first time that in her story mode, when you play the final fight as Powered Akira, her team attack changes to become the same as Daigo's. Those little details are legit amazing.

I remember going to a local arcade some 10-11 years ago. Had no idea this game was a thing until that random day when I first saw it there. Seeing those full team supers was so cool! I hope Akira's inclusion in SFV has an impact and we can at least get this game as a remaster/remake.
Question for everyone: What game would you like to see Max do a rate the super on? For me it’d be Naruto ultimate ninja storm 4. Main reason being that there’s so many of them and there are so many great explosions that you could become desensitized to them by the end.

There are a few more team-up attacks in this game, or at least they are definitely accessible in the Japanese version of the game. If you make edit characters in the board game mode, and don't ever choose the 2nd option while engaging in dialog with characters to learn that character's 2-person team-up attack, then you will have a unique team-up attack based on your edit character's school. Most, if not all, of them are team-up attacks that existed in Rival Schools but are not represented in the regular characters of Project Justice. I haven't played much of the North American version of this game, but I have read that it has a set of characters that could have been created through the Japanese version's board game mode, but I don't remember whether any of them have those unique team-up attacks. It's possible you might have to play "Moero: Justice Gakuen" to see those. I think Taiyou's default edit character team-up was you launch the opponent into the air, then you and the partner some distance away on opposite sides of the opponent jump even higher, then you both hit the opponent with dive kicks as-if you were moving along the shape of a giant X passing through the opponent. The Justice Gakuen default team-up was Raizo's team-up from Rival Schools where the partner just one-arm throws you at the opponent like it's a fastball special. I think the default team-up for the girls' school Seijyun Gakuen was something like you and your partner do a bit of a ballroom dance twirl and that shoots out some giant hearts as projectiles, G Gundam reference, and I think that may have been an alternate Kyoko team-up in one of the Rival Schools discs. I can't remember what Gedo's, Gorin's, or Pacific's default edit team-ups were, but I do remember being disappointed that Gedo's wasn't unmasked Akira's Rival Schools team-up of NEO Synchronous Kick.
TEAM-UPs like Hinata's got the extra point to consider that they come from a "circle" move, which can hit the enemy even if they try a rotation move (be it a slight rotation or a 180 rotation). Also good on it is that it fill's the gauge to 5, so you can spam it. I remember there being a certain advantage regarding hits, TEAM, PARTY & grab.... but only remember PARTY always beats TEAM if used at same time. So Hinata's can also be used as a counter
Devs were having fun. Capcom needs to really bring out a new version of these high school/college fighters. They could be pretty big w the right marketing, I want to know more abt these characters & relationships just by seeing these creative supers. Game oozes charm and looks fun.
I didn't know anything about Rival Schools or Project Justice until Max's channel, but just like Urban Reign, I would give SO much to see this game get remastered
On average, this game has some if the sickest super animations. I love the character designs too. Capcom should license a full anime series for this game to help reboot it.
