In reality, the Soviet soldiers had neither courage nor ability, because they were being recruited against their will. Many conspricpts were family fathers who didnt want to be in the army since they had families to provide for.

Tfw you know nothing about Soviet Tactics or Military History. Soviet Soldiers all had guns and ammo, the only times they wouldn't would be if they were cut off from other units, most of this kind of thing would happen in the initial year of the war, after then it almost never happened outside of special conditions during sieges, for example, Leningrad, Stalingrad, Kyiv, etc. This misconception is from terribly inaccurate Hollywood movies and it's laughable that any person could take them as 100% accurate without an ounce of critical thinking. If you want an accurate depiction of the Eastern Front, watch Soviet War Movies, not Hollywood trash like "Enemy at the Gates".

Not really. While the myth about the USSR using human waves of infantry on the Eastern Front is popular, it has nothing to do with reality. Most of the time (at least in the beginning of the war), the Axis had significant advantage in terms of numbers while having, surprisingly (not really, if you start thinking about it), worse situation with equipment, vehicles and personal weaponry. Now, of course, there were cases of Soviet soldiers charging Axis positions trying to drown them in their bodies, but these cases were rare - an exception, not the rule. It happened mostly in encirclement situations, when the Soviets had supplies, transport and communications cut off and were running low on everything, but didn't want to surrender.

I am a beginner player and I noticed that Soviets are great in their infantry, but they are so terrible in their vehicles. I was always losing against a standard AI when I play against Ostheer, so I decided to play with infantry only. I focused on playing with Penal Battalion, Guards, and HM-38 mortar teams, and guess what, I won with a difference of 410 victory points! That was crazy for me! I was destroying their Panzer IV tanks like they are pieces of cake! I controlled most of the map so they couldn't even bring heavy tanks into the field. Before, when I was deploying T-70 and T-34, I was always losing them in the fights with no gain at all. I found that Penal Battalion squads are much greater than T-34!
