- As peaceful and unarmed protestors stormed the Kenyan parliament building while protesting against the 2024 Finance Bill, seemingly shocked members of Parliament quickly scampered for safety in a secure location.
Githunguri MP Gathoni Wa Muchomba recounts the events that led to what has been termed as extra-judicial killings and the way forward for the country.

I admire and lift my hand to this awesome MP. Despite the pressure and abuse from her Party she stuck with what her Constituents wanted. A woman of integrity here speaks in Kenya. She stands on business even when its not popular and unsafe. She deserves the title Honourable.
Wamuchomba first rejected the 2023 finance bill, perhaps the only MP from Mt Kenya to have done so. Then consistently talked against KK policies. Today she has been vindicated. To me she is a national asset that we should nature. She actually should move out of local to national politics and change Kenya.

I love MP Gathoni she has always been speaking her mind without fear or bias and indeed the nation is hurting we are a wounded citizen for Ruto he just has to step down he has allowed bloodshed sacrificed our children mercilessly he can thumb chest his authority to appease his ego my hope and prayer is that Ruto must go we no longer have trust or confident in him leave alone his advisors
So Ms Muchomba is one of the very few that is a real servant to the people. Maybe in the future she should be put in positions of the Government, where she actually actively can fix this country.
As a mother, the pain is too much , 39 children!, I suggest we all assist the parents of the children and the GenZ community to build a private Museum in honour of the fallen children/Heros. A film should also be made from all the recordings.

This is the pain certain communities that seek for justice in every election cycle feel, yet they are branded names. If our leaders would shun tribal politics, we can have a great country. The other year, the killings were done in Kondele and Sondu, this time in parliament buildings and Githurai.
Truly painful on both accounts but this is quite different. This isn't a contest between a winning and losing politician, this is the people vs politicians.

I salute you Madam Gathoni you were so brave from the beginning, and my sincere condolences to the families of all the fallen HEROS . I pray for their souls to rest in peace . They have written a new chapter for fighting for theirs and our rights from impunity and oppression, i pray and hope for justice for them and their families, there are so many who got injured I wish them too quick recovery and to get justice too. Those who were abducted i pray they return safe and sound .

With this narration i can still hear the gun shot sound in parliament that day and in Githurai it was so in human and nothing should justify the action taken by security administration which took the oath to protect innocent people .

Have official statements been recorded from eye witnesses, such as yourself, while events are still fresh in your mind. (This is critical to a sound investigation process.) 2. The quorum in the National Assembly is very low, only 50 members are needed to pass a bill. This should urgently be reviewed. 3. Who were the hooded gunmen who used automatic weapons? Surely, this is a critical question and Kenyans deserve an answer! 4. Is there am arson investigation for the burnt buildings? What was the accelerant used? Why are there no images of demonstrators carrying fire-starting equipment? and 5. (With a lighter touch) who are the brave MPs who refused to abandon their lunches in the face of gunfire and marauding demonstrators? 😢

As father, I've shed some tears after hearing how Kenyan children were shot when demonstrating for their rights. Even if a lion get born again, it cannot be trusted to shepherd sheep. We failed as a country for trusting Ruto with our country's leadership.
