I live in a small Minnesota town but in the 1990s I lived 6 years in northern New Jersey. I grew to love the east coast. Its people and history are amazing and your video made me nostalgic to return for a visit! So interesting to learn of Teddy Roosevelt’s connection there. Hi Diane it’s always a fun day when we go visit one of the many quaint towns we have on the island. We had a Ritas that opened near us and within a few years it was closed. We were shocked because they usually had a line of people waiting to order. To this day the building is still empty. Glad to hear you have a Ritas. So far lemon is a favorite. Have a nice day! So enjoyed this! Been to Oyster Bay so many times, for dinners, chiropractor, book store for a cookbook signing by Julia Child, visits to Teddy Roosevelt's house [Sagamore Hill] and Billy Joels's motor cycle shop [20th Century Cycles], and of course Oysterfest! Always good to go back. Haven't been for a few years (pandemic and mobility issues and all), but thinking about renting a wheelchair to make Oysterfest feasible again this year. Didn't realize Bonanza has been in business that long! Only stopped there once, and, despite the chilly rain, had a margarita Italian ice. Love these travelogues, Grandma and Grandpa -- keep 'em coming!

Hi Grandma and Grandpa, Oyster Bay was known as the Summer White House. My husband worked on the county ambulance there for many many years. He finally retired after 34 years. I have been there many many times. I am a purist when it comes to ices, it’s lemon only. This was wonderful. Thanks for taking us along. My favorite zeppoles…yum. Hi Marty 🐾 I grew up in Long Beach. I still go to Lido Kosher Deli weekly.

Hi Grandma and Grandpa, This was terrific! Bonanza’s reminds me of Ralph’s on Staten Island. They have a bunch of flavors too and was a staple treat during the summer. I like cherry, orange and root beer, but lemon is my all time favorite. And thank you for the tour of Oyster Bay! I really enjoyed learning all the history and hope to visit one of these days. Hi an update will be coming on the garden. We like Ralph’s also. We have enjoyed many of their flavors. Hope you get to visit Oyster Bay. They have a wonderful Oyster festival in October. This year it is Saturday October 19 & Sunday October 20. It takes place throughout the town and into the park near the water. It is free to attend and opens 11 am. We would suggest you go early to get a parking spot if you want to go to the festival. It is a fun day. Glad you like the video. ❤️Grandma👩🏻& Grandpa👨🍳
@GrandmaFeral There is also a shuttle bus from the Syosset train station to Oysterfest if you can't get there early to find a spot somewhere in town. Of course it gobbles up a lot of time, because the traffic is horrendously backed up by then on the small local streets in town, but it saves the hassle of trying to find a space.

In October Oyster Bay has an Oyster Festival and thousands of people attend. It will be very crowded. You have to go very early to find a parking spot. Marty says Meow😸 and Lucky says Hi. Thanks a million for the Oyster Bay video. My husband was disabled by a major stroke 15 years ago and this brings back good memories of his growing up in Syosset. We have lived in California for 60-plus years and can no longer visit Long Island, but used to enjoy Oyster Bay and other local cities with our four children.

Hej from the Suffolk's South Shore, and Famous Four Corners! I visited Raynham Hall in 2007, and yes, I can confirm it IS haunted! I had paranormal experiences during my 3-4 hour visit, and caught such activity on camera as well. Unfortunately I don't believe I can access those photos, because I might not have the memory card. I will check though. Fun Fact: Up in Tarrytown, Westchester County, New York, there is a statue and moment dedicated to Major Andre. He is the man who the female Spirit at Raynham Hall was in love with during her lifetime.

We didn’t have much damage here in Boynton area (but West Palm did) but in Port St Lucie, Stuart and those areas along the Treasure coast (Atlantic side) we had devastation, it turned suddenly and tornados hit my former hometown and my son’s area, a senior community had casualties, we are praying for their families & rebuilding…the Tampa/Sarasota area is still trying to recuperate. We were fortunate for many years but we prepare the best we can! Thank you for your concern and positive vibes for us!!!
