I'm a life long Long Islander and I enjoyed seeing this. I worked and lived near to some of these areas.Long Island has much in the way of history and culture.
This was awesome, from start to finish. It does help to have two, knowledgeable guides who know the area. As you are aware, there is so much to see. You did a super job, including so much in this video. I thoroughly enjoyed this, Josh. BTW, that pizza, those, sweet treats, the Greek meals, and the final pizza looked yummy. ***Chalk up another winner. 🎊🎈👏🏻👏🏻🌊
So glad you got to see Sagamore Hill and the fascinating museum there -- so sorry you weren't able to take a tour of the incredible home! One of the best NPS Historical Sites in the nation. Thank you for continuing to make incredible travel videos -- your and Pops' channels are the best!
Good one Josh! Never seen you on a bike! Or did I miss the vid of it! Loved the lighthouses! I would love to taste that ice cream! Can’t wait for the Statue of Liberty!❤️😀🇺🇸
We’ve been to several of these stops and really enjoyed the memories and the new stops you shared ; esp the pizza; Brooklyn pizza is the BEST! I’ve been wanting to ask you if you’re going for all 429 National Parks Sites? I’ve noticed many of the lesser known sites in your travels. We are at 202 NPU’s thus far. Life seems to keep blocking our journey, but we’ll get there someday. Always appreciative of your adventures and hard work!!
For those of you who love the cold slice but are out of the area, do what I do when you go to a pizzeria. If they are selling it by the slice, say, "Can you HEAT UP the slice and then afterwards, can you sprinkle COLD cheese on it?" (Any other variation of this will result in either an uncooked slice or your cold cheese getting melted in the oven. THIS HAS HAPPENED TO ME!) And if you are forced to buy a whole pizza (sorry, rest of the country!🤣), you can ask them to bring out a side of cold shredded cheese and you can DIY. You will get looks, and strange questions, and heaven help you if the person doesn't speak English very well, but it's worth the extra ask for the gooey yumminess. If it's done right, the cheese melts while you eat it. So good! 😋
Check out Castle Gould if you've got more time. Not sure how current this is, I do miss the cold cheese slice at Little Vincent's but not too much else about the Island hah. Hope you have fun.
I love lighthouses... Have you ever been to St Augustine? Its America's oldest city. It has a lighthouse and 2 forts. There's a bunch to do. Its 30 minutes from Jacksonville Fl.
@@ThroughMyLens If you find yourself in Northeast Florida, it's worth a stop. There are even ghost tours that you can take one by trolley, 1 by horse and carriage and 1 walking. One of the original Ripley's believe it or not, museums is found there. I think you could see about 80% of it over 3 days.
When I got the notification for the video, I mistakenly read the caption. I thought it said the best of Long Beach 😂 I thought that was odd that you posted this here, instead of your California channel. I need new reading glasses lol. Great video either way 🙌🏽
You gotta go to McAllister county park aka pirates cove . Also the various parks in montuak , David welds nature sanctuary, Elizabeth Morton national wildlife refuge , orient point state park, napeague state park and wildwood state park !!

I grew up on Long Island ... I never knew any of that stuff was there. Now I live 2500 miles away and have to go back to see it all. Such a shame. And a little bit of history ... Some places on LI were named after my Pop's ancestors. Sands Point, Hewlett, Williston Park, East Williston to name a few ...
Sagamore Hill is my girlfriend's and mine favorite place to spend the evening. We take our dog there and just sit on the beach watching the millionaires take their boats out after the work day ends. Both sides of the beach are private property and are owned by influential and rich people. Last time we were there a helicopter landed not far from where we were sitting.
Nice video! There's a pizza shop here in central Ohio that does the cold cheese on top. I'll stick to square-cut tavern style pizza that's available. Just like the kind that I grew up eating in Chicago. Deep dish?? No way.
Yeah, the cold toppings on hot pizza is known locally as Ohio Valley style pizza. It had something to do with the ovens and pans they originally used. If they put toppings on before, they’d burn, so the fashion became to put them on after.
It was awesome to show you around. As you now know, Long Island is huge and you need more than a day. 😀
Thanks so much for spending the day with me!

thanks for showing this Brit a bit of Long Island. More please!
Long Island has so much to offer, and this video is a perfect guide! Can’t wait to explore these hidden gems. 🏖✨

Glad to see two of the channels I follow teaming up together.

As a Long Islander, great recap! Little Vincent’s cold slice is a late-night-several-drinks-in right of passage. 😂
WOOHOO! Love the double episodes, one on Thursday, the other on Sunday. This content is on point, as usual. Last Sunday’s Live event was awesome.
So glad you liked it even after the technical issues

Josh, Nice job in hanging in my home town, Long Island. Looking forward to seeing your Statue of Liberty visit.
St Augustine lighthouse has 219 steps. Love the lighthouse.
What a great tour! Thanks!!! I have it on authority from a Greek - it’s neither of those pronunciations, it’s “YEE-ro”. Speak like a Greek! 🤩
Spent a little time in Islip last year....nice place.

YEE-ro!
It’s definitely pronounced yearo and definitely one of my favorite sandwiches
I was told it was pronounced YEAR-O by a Greek chef. Maybe it’s different in different areas in Greece.
That's what I thought as well
Now I'm jonesing for some NY Pizza. Wish there was some near me. 😢

It's really just Little Vincent's that is known for it. Definitely not a thing island wide :)
How can I get a national park passport?
