    • @francoisgodofe
      @francoisgodofe  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Thank you David! it’s handled and some shots got stabilized in post. I don’t mind post stabilization as long as it doesn’t damage the footage or it’s barely visible. I’m more looking after the “ vibe “ of the video rather than the perfect quality even though I try my best to provide a nice one.
      Not sure about mastering it ^^ but to get a nice “ handheld flow “ I would suggest try your best to have 3 contact points, block the camera against your chest or shoulder, keep your arms close to your body and bend your legs/knees to control a bit better the shakes.
      But I guess it depends of everyone.
      With some time you find the way your like :).

    How do you get that sharpness? I have the bmpcc4k and the same lens and I cannot get that image quality

    • @francoisgodofe
      @francoisgodofe  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hello Jose! hmm not sure, I try to have enough lighting to be able to set the settings I want. I think most sharpness issues come from not being focus because maybe your aperture was too big due to a lack of natural lighting or noisy images due to wrong settings unfortunately again because of a lack of lighting probably.
      As a test you could try to film at f10 for example when it’s really sunny and set your ISO between 400 and 800, you should get sharp images :). Then you’d an experiment a bit more when it’s darker like end of afternoon and adjust your settings until you find the best spot for you :).
      Hopefully it helps !

    Would love to know your grading process

    • @francoisgodofe
      @francoisgodofe  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hello Docteja, I cannot pretend to have a good workflow or not but it’s a lot of back and forth to be honest.
      I try to take one of the hero shot, and apply the first mood based on reference, I was looking for adventure/“nature” movies for this video. I started first with the midtones and highlights because they personally give me a really quick idea overall of the whole picture, and play with the shadows later. I try to figure if I want to go in a warm or cold direction, based on that, I slowly start to think more about Colors.
      You realize your footage has to be different than the reference obviously because it might have a different story or mood behind it and of course depending of your taste.
      I don’t use LUT (maybe a mistake who knows?) but it allows me to be creative and to find my way.
      Hopefully it makes sense? Please feel free to ask another question and I will do my best to answer it :)

      @@francoisgodofe thanks for the detailed reply Francois. Tbh, it's one of the best videos I've ever seen in youtube. I always find trouble adjusting gamma / mids. Where did you center your mids at? Also, do you mind sharing your insta.. Would love to follow

    • @francoisgodofe
      @francoisgodofe  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@docteja2374 Thanks a lot Docteja =).
      Actually I don't have a "good way" for the mids to be honest, I always check my scopes to not clip my shadows and highlights.
      Depends of the look you want I guess, I try to get some contrast in general, I increase my highlights and put down my shadows without touching the mids first (just my way), then I start tweaking them.
      I like to bring up a bit of the really dark shadows as well depending of the shots.
