Well, the mortals come from the Kais, so he is just getting the body back, that gods have created. As for the name Goku Black, that is a term the future people came up with, no Zamasu. Both Black and Zamasu refer to themselves as "me" or "Zamasu". Also when the fuse, they do not even mention the name "Black" at all, just "Zamasu" again.
Marsters is the GOAT. Listen to him narrate the Dresden Files audiobooks and hearing him in Dragonball is just amazing. Two of my favorite series narrated by such a great VA!

If there’s one thing anime succeeds at these days, it’s writing excellent villains. The writing for Zamasu is insane and the VA knocks it out of the park. If I ever get the chance to meet him, I’m gonna ask for the “repent of your arrogance” quote, because I just love savagery behind it.
The writing in this arc feels like something from the anime Fairy Tail. In every other arc they used training or a pre-established concept to beat the villain. In this one Trunks used the power of friendship to get a new transformation out of nowhere.

The absolute Zamasu tried and claimed to be. Everything he's not in terms of divinity. In the end I suppose what happened was actually a good compromise. Trunks reduced him to an ether, and then Zeno finished the job.

I think I preferred them unfused. Goku Black alone was a frightening guy since he took full advantage of the sayian zenkai boost thing. It was also clear that while he was being affected by Goku's sayian body, sometimes he acted more mortal than god. That Zamasu became more like a twisted Kakarot.
Honest to god the best part of Zamasu is not Zamasu himself, but the fact that they let Trunks murder this bait & switch bastard. Zamasu and Goku Black suck solely because they decided to make them both the SAME person, this season should have just been about one or the other, Goku Black being Zamasu ruins the whole point of him even looking like Goku, and Zamasu's story was rushed as hell for it, so we didn't get to fully understand where he's coming from and why he firmly believes in this.

I love how my favorite and least favorite things about the dub of this show are related to Zamas. His voice actor, and the way they pronounce his name. It’s REALLY off putting and distracting to hear everybody in the show unironically call him “ZamaSUE” as if they don’t know how basic Japanese works. I guess the very guy fighting him right now is “TrunkSUE”, you know, since he also has that U on the end of his Japanese name, so it must be pronounced that way. “Torankusu”.

As much as I think Zamasu is easily one of the dumbest villains in all of DB, It’s absolutely embarrassing to Vegito and his fans that this guy clowned Vegito as much as he did.
You have to remember that the hypocrite had to steal Goku's body to compensate for his own weakness and had to wish for immortality to double down on that. Zamasu, in reality, was just an indestructible punching bag.

I love how my favorite and least favorite things about the dub of this show are related to Zamas. His voice actor, and the way they pronounce his name.
It’s REALLY off putting and distracting to hear everybody in the show unironically call him “ZamaSUE” as if they don’t know how basic Japanese works. I guess the very guy fighting him right now is “TrunkSUE”, you know, since he also has that U on the end of his Japanese name, so it must be pronounced that way. “Torankusu”.
Oh no, English speakers speak English when saying Japanese names in English. The shame of it all

Again, if that’s how it worked for everybody, Blooma and Vegeta’s kid would be called “Trunksu” with the ending vowel sound pronounced.

@ it’s practically a feature of every dub at this point, honestly. As far as dubs go, DB has usually been good, and many others are good too. Just because they say the names a little off doesn’t make them immediately awful though, that’s just silly. That’d be like me saying that AOT was garbage because of the ending, its end doesn’t immediately backtrack the quality of everything that came before, yknow?

As much as I think Zamasu is easily one of the dumbest villains in all of DB, It’s absolutely embarrassing to Vegito and his fans that this guy clowned Vegito as much as he did.
You have to remember that the hypocrite had to steal Goku's body to compensate for his own weakness and had to wish for immortality to double down on that. Zamasu, in reality, was just an indestructible punching bag.
It's better than Vegito just beating his ass only to just defuse
Zamasu was only interesting as Goku Black. Not at all as himself.
I disagree. Start of arc Zamasu was great and seeing him struggling with his ideals and position as a god showed his dilemma in a very interesting manner.
