Cyclones are good, very useful as a mid-game defence. Best for transitioning from scatters (and any other ground turret) to cyclone then getting surge for the usual F shadow spam with spectres
@@notBeWitchy yep, although it's not exactly very cost efficient and overall it's better to just get spectres at that point since cyclones have less range and surge is expensive while thorium isn't
I've used nothing but cyclone and meltdown/spectre. Spectre is my favorite for gaurdians and the surge cyclones (usually cry-cooled with a overdrive projector not dome) melt hordes.
Cuz using cheap, easily produced, and thus commonly used ammunition for the test makes the most sense. Not a person in the world uses Duos with pyratite/blast, there are way better turrets for that. And then there's surge alloy, the most extremely expensive material of Mindustry, you'll be happy if you ever get enough produced, kinda. Thorium... It's not much more expensive than titanium but still, titanium is more accessible. Completely understandable why he did this the way he did. This is what gives accurate, actually useful data for players on attack/campaign maps.
@@lautarobertoluzzi1477 Yeah then I saw that he not only used worse ammo for the Fuse, but also the Spectre... I completely agree, thorium lategame is literally cheaper than graphite, yet way better than it as ammo too. Graphite is just, "sh*t I need any garbage to throw at the enemy attackers immediately", there's no single turret in which graphite shines. It's really only used cuz laser/airblast drills are what's expensive, but once you have a single watercooled thorium-mining airblast on the map, you can abuse thorium to all hell, it just shoots outta the drill in huge quantities, practically can run everything on thorium that accepts it.
@@hunormagyar1843 i mean, you're so incredibly wrong with what you said it's kind of funny, consider using water and cryo to boost your turrets, and PLEASE, NEVER, load your spectres with graphite, that's a huge waste of surge, dps, space and you lose crowd control bcs no pierce. Also, why would you build a salvo and load it with copper? Thorium salvos have one of the best dps/block-used in the game while being cheap, and you are also not considering the combos by using only cheap ammo, blast on ripples has a much better damage than graphite, considering it's just the coal you'd already use with graphite but with a bit of lead and sand (considering maps where sand is more easily available) and blast has a 4x ammo multiplier on ripples, meaning two shots per blast. And the blasted debuff combos with cryo tsunami to slow down and crack land tier 4's and 5's open. Also, blast compound does much more damage than metaglass on Ciclone, and AGAIN has a better ammo multiplier of 5x, without the 0,8 firing speed, and you you are wasting sand and lead on metaglass to be shot out of a ciclone, might as well combine those with the always available coal to deal that extra dps on a less messy frontline. You just gotta learn how to transport that blast safely, no big deal I bet you don't use surge and plastanium walls bcs you think they are expensive lol
About 10:01, targeting cores was never the purpose of the Foreshadow. Its stupidity high damage combined with a comically long range means it’s more suited towards sniping tier 5 enemies. However, this is a rather specialised role (Further worsoned by the long reload) which is why this isn’t the primary turret used in defences.

Unfair, you gave swarmers quite the advantage by letting it use better ammo while you used the worse ammo for the rest of the turrets, make it the best ammo and liquid for every turrent then it's a fair match
@@AxoCatWasTaken but all other turrets also accept that same, if not, equivalently good ammo, why not balance the filed by giving everyone that access?
Obviously swarmer is gonna win if it's the only one with good ammo, I mean I have never even used metaglass for cyclones and neither have I ever used slag for tsunami (here it's not about power, but more about the fact that it's a support turret, so giving it anything but slag boosts my defence way more, water boosts electricity demage and puts out fires, cryo fluid boosts blast demage, slows down the troops and also puts out fires and oil boosts fire demage and also slowes down troops, while slag I believe only sets them on fire) or graphite for spectre
Most of the late game turrets have reduction to building damage, and the reign turret (spectre) is probably the best turret overall, as the ammunition is accessible and it is overall a high dps turret.

One or two, placed behind, NOT NEXT TO each other, especially if liquid cooled, can be a cheap but damn effective defense against columns of ground units.
