Surprisingly many emotions in such a relatively brief composition. Listening to the first part, I thought of someone walking through a landscape, town, or other area that was a scene of tragedy. Feeling all the regret and sorrow evoked by the sights. Then rousing up with a determination to do something about it: restore, refresh, improve. It seemed to me that Haydn expressed a gamut of feelings from grief, through hope, to confidence. Well, Haydn composed the music - the feelings were mine. But I suppose he had to feel the emotions before he could compose the music. The second part was more calm and measured, perhaps surveying a job well done, resting, and taking pleasure in it. Then, getting back to work. Anyway, thank you for the posting. I enjoyed #25, as I've enjoyed all of Haydn's symphonies in this series.
That's one of the best things about Haydn you generally have to invent your own backstory. Yours is good, I'm going with it. Mine are usually awful - 50 shades bad.
Excellent performance by Austro-Hungarian Haydn Orchestra & Adam Fischer ❤❤❤

Papa Haydn war ein großer Komponist 👍🏼
Und Mama Haydn hat ihm den Rücken dafür frei gehalten 😊
