- We are fishing the Spring King Pompano Tournament in Navarre Beach, Florida! The tournament consisted of local You-tubers along the gulf coast! This was the only day I got to pompano fish and even though I didn't catch any big pompano the surf fishing was awesome at Navarre Beach! Now is a great time to get out on the beach and do some pompano fishing so get out and fish on!

Is Navarre Beach pretty crowded right now?
Excellent Pompano action. I enjoyed the finals. Keep this in mind, last year when I was fishing at the jetties catching Pompano, i had my igloo cooler with just a small aerator that runs on D batteries. I was able to keep Pompano alive in that cooler. That would give you the option to cull out the smaller ones if you catch larger ones, if that's allowable in the tournament.

I plan on visiting Navarre beach and was wondering what area you would recommend that does not have a lot of tourists and that is good for fishing? ( other then the pier)

Ain't gonna lie, I love fishing Florida, but if yall did an Alabama vs Florida tournament, I think Alabama wins all day long. Would be fun to watch though.

Yeah, I think so too in some ways. It seems like Alabama has amazing Speckled Trout fishing off the beach, and the Pompano seem to stick around longer there. Maybe it has something to do with Mobile Bay and the salinity of the water dumping into the Gulf? Why do you think it is?

loving the video. Looking a coming down to Manasota Key in July to do some surf fishing. Im looking a buying my fist surf Rod and am looking at a Diawa Ft and can decide between 9ft and 10. Any recommendations?
If you’re just starting out then get the 10 footer man, it’ll help get your baits out just fine for your first time.
