We visited Rwanda this past June for a month. The people were wonderful. I actually want to move there permanently. However, Kimoronko market was too much for a retiree like me. Everyone asking you to buy from them at once was overwhelming. I wasn't offended because I know they were just desperate to sell to survive.
Glad the Richardsons made the motherland trip. I pray it's just the beginning of many a visit to their land of heritage. That meet up and discussion Baba Richardson mentioned used to be practiced by my people whilst I was young and it was done around a campfire. Folklore and life's lessons were passed down there. BUT men folk would sit separated from the women folk as men would sometimes teach about how to be a man or husband.
Welcome to Africa, our African family from Aruba. This must be an amazing experience, especially for the children. You are one of us, each one of you, and we ' see' you all. Love from Kenya.❤
Interesting to seen an Aruban family in East Africa. They’re basically my neighbors as I was born on Curaçao. Going by their intonation and all I presume that their family background is originally from a English speaking part of the Caribbean.
Hi Mark. I have been watching your TH-cam channel for quite some time now. I used to live in South Africa but have recently relocated back to my home country, Tanzania. I am currently residing in Dar-es-Salaam. I would like to meet up with you if it is possible. I am interested to meet some of your colleagues from the States too. I have a few things to discuss with you and anyone
Hi my brother. I loved this interview. I've been to Aruba and it is beautiful island with beautiful people and very friendly. It is known as One happy 😊 island. The Caribbean is a nice place to visit and I'm glad they made it home back to the motherland no matter where they were born or what color they are. I'm from America and I'm heading to Tanzania from November 8th to November 22nd for the first time to Tanzania. although I've been to Ethiopia and Malawi. I would love to hook up with you or Mark if the time is available. We have to be a person of hospitality when our brothers and sisters come home to join us regardless of what part of Africa they want to visit. When Africans come to the USA I make them welcome and treat them as my brothers and sisters because we are all one coming from the divine source which is light. Let's love one another and treat one another how we want to be treated.
That’s the cutest thing ever. One day when I struck it lucky I want to take all 20th generation or whatever of ex-slaves on a cruise ship to Africa. We’ll spend months on sea, get to Africa and tour at least 5 countries before returning to boring Freeview tv. The symbolism is powerful in the kids’ minds and some Of the adults. Welcome to Africa. You’re in luck- our lions are roaming free these days 😂❤
The same British Slave Masters that displaced Africans to USA and Canada displaced other Africans to different Caribbean's Islands. They speak solid England English as official language. There's nothing called USA English, England meant "English-Land". And there's nothing called USA and Canada in North America Continent until both slave masters established them illegally. All these Caribbean's l lived with in London, England in 80's before moving to USA in 1990. They knew they from Africa Continent unlike some African Americans calling themselves just fake USA native Citizens USA. We all Migrants in USA expect Indian Americans and Mexicans. Love from DC. ------- Osollo.
What the heck you talking about ?? If you're not white, jellow or asian, your black!! It's not their fault that the white sexual assault our ancestors!!! We are awake!!!
I think it is a great mistake for descendants of African captives enslaved in the Americas to start their back to Africa journey in east Africa and places like Tanzania. Most enslaved Africans in the Caribbeans came from West (Senegal Gambia Sierra Leone Ghana Benin Nigeria) and Central Africa (the Congo-Angola area). Tanzania is quite different culturally from West Africa, where you guys come from although all Africans have similar cultures in some ways. I thank you will feel more at home in West Africa. Go to Sierra Leone or Benin Republic and you will feel more at home than in Tanzania.
What about realities like the big Bantu migration, 5000 years ago.? Did it not start in West Africa and go eastward all the way to places like Tanzania and South Africa? Maybe the family in the video has distant relatives in Tanzania. 😀
@@usa_kenyan Yes, it is evident that Bantu people in Southern, central and eastern Africa have their origin in southern Nigeria and south western Cameroon. But, I think the migration started more than 5000 years ago. It will take more than ,,,5000 years for a group in southern Nigeria and Cameroon to turn into hundreds of millions people and spread all over central, southern and as far as east Africa, although the Bantu people met other groups already established in those places and mixed with them. Also all west Africans are not Bantu. Actually most West Africans are not Bantu. A large number of West Africans migrated there from North Africa like the Soninké who used to be the original inhabitants of Morroco, Algeria, Tunisia and Libya. From the Soninké came many West African groups like the Mandé or Malinké or Madinka or Mandingo who founded the Mali Empire. Also a large number of West Africans originated from the Nile area particularly, the present day Sudan. You can see the wolof of Senegal are not different from Southern Sudanese. West Africans are very mixed people who have created cultures that kind of similar to the rest of Africa. But East Africans are a bit different than West Africans in their cultures.
@@princessprincess7708 stop lying. The east Africans enslaved by the arabs were either used in places like Zanzibar, Comoros or Yemen or sold in Arabia or Asia. No arab sold east Africans in the Caribbeans. You out of your mind..Asia is right across East Africa on the so called indian Ocean. The arabs would have to take their small boats to Southern Africa and come all the way to West Africa to head to the Caribbean.. That would not make any sense for them to travel that far on their small boats only to sell a dozens of Africans to the Americas. We all know from historical record that Europeans controlled the transatlantic trade. No arabs were involved in it. You sound so mentally deranged sometimes. Are you mentally ill?
@@lgnawa To make a long story short, I think the decision as to whether an African American wants to visit West Africa or East Africa should be left to the individual African American. And more importantly, whatever decision is made should not be labelled as a mistake. How someone feels when he/she visits a place is personal. Someone may have roots in West Africa but feel more comfortable in East Africa and vice versa.😀
He's right. I am from Jamaica and visited Tanzania 2021 loved it. I felt right at home, people were very very nice to me.
