"Childhood Realized" is the best description I have heard for this attraction. I was 14 when the first movie came out. It was a powerful and incredible film, with the extremely complex (for that time) special effects. Only Disney could have pulled off bringing a movie to life in such an enjoyable, immersive way for everyone to experience. Thank you for sharing! 5 & 50. I had a co-worker who’s energy, no matter what time he came to work, it didn’t matter if it was 3pm or 5am, it was like your. He was the life of our work space and you reming me so much of him. Sir, your energy... it is impossible to watch your videos and not have a smile in one’s face. I love your videos keep it up!
Chris, I totally get it. I watched Star Wars 12 times at the theatre. It was transformative! It invaded every aspect of my life for a long time. I didn't have any of the toys except the original Early Bird collection, but I had all the bedding and the tube socks and the T-shirts and the comics and the novellas, and... well, I had everything except the toys. The toys weren't available upon the movie release, and when they became available, they weren't as important anymore. We'd already made our own lightsabers and cardboard star destroyers and such. Amanda isn't the only one feeling a bit jealous. I too am so looking forward to riding Rise! Thanks, Chris! I enjoyed your enthusiasm!
Some of the props are Army surplus and I recognized them from my time on tanks. The light switches on the wall was used to connect helmets to the intercom and radios, a random green box sitting on a stand was an antenna matching unit used in a command vehicle and the metal tubes were used for transporting main gun ammunition. My wife thought I was crazy because I was almost as excited to see those things as I was the other items.

Chris, I remember at the beginning of the year you told us all you quit your job and the three of you were going to tour all the Disney parks. Then the pandemic hit and closed everything. All I kept thinking was "Poor Chris and family they just had everything pulled out from under them" I'm so glad to see you have it all together!!! As a child of Star Wars myself, I had the same reaction as you when I first rode Rise in February... my son mocked my enthusiasm as he handed me a tissue. Loved this vlog!
I haven't rode on it yet at Disneyland but from what I can tell from your reaction, I think I'll be crying while in the ride. I grew up with Star Wars, thanks to my brother, and just watching this video despite watching so many videos of this particular ride itself I still get overwhelmed. Can't wait for Disneyland to open up again!

I went on this ride with my dad on the 21st of October and although it was crowded (truly I'm jealous as to how empty the park is in your visit) it was still a great time. I wish I could have gone on the ride over and over myself. I love seeing a fan being so happy over this. Truly warms my heart! May the Force be with you!

I'm so happy for you that you experienced it! My partner and I rode it for the first time at Disneyland in March, and we were just as giddy, amazed, and hyped as you! After the "experience", we couldn't articulate into words of our amazement that we just started shouting and laughing. We also questioned reality and was asking each other "did that just happen? What just happened?!" Looking forward to Amanda's reaction video to it next.

Like you Chris. After so many years not being able to go to Disneyland. Just went to this ride in Disneyland Anaheim and it was so much fun, amazing and just got so emotional afterwards yesterday. I’m with my family, my four sons and wife, wish my daughters were here. Man, what a ride! I also was thinking about all the toys and the action figures my mother went out of her way for me to have as a kid. Also being able to go see my favorite Star Wars movie The Empire Strikes Back, just like you-all the action and watching it as a kid at the CINEDOME in Hollywood, California. With Chewbacca, Han Solo, Luke, Lea and other of the movie characters. I was lucky to have those experiences and be able to remember them so. Thank you Chris for such an awesome video and bringing back so many memories as you talk and me reliving the ride. Hopefully I get to ride it one more time before we head on home. Disney definitely out did themselves with this one! Semper FI Chris.
That's one of the few things I remember clearly about that movie. The line stretched around the theater in the hot sun, and there was a brief glimpse of Darth Vader with his helmet off that I almost missed running to the bathroom! The first movie, I remember I didn't understand what Luke was looking at when he rushed back to his aunt and uncle's house, I was too young to recognize skeletons. (Hmm, maybe the long line outside was the third movie, 'cos I recall that being outside the Market Place theater, and the helmet scene was inside the old Virginia theater….)
Chris, early lightsabre battles imagined by George Lucas were based on traditional samurai fighting where the Sabres were supposed to have weight like a real sword and used two handed.

What a tough year it has been. Certainly most have had it much harder than me. But at the end of the ride, seeing Chris so happy had me in tears. I was crying like it was my only daughters wedding. I just went to Disneyland on Friday my first time since the Star Wars Galaxies opened. I was mesmerized by the area and this ride is the BOMB. I too felt very emotional when I was on it.

It took us 2 days to get the boarding pass. Finally got Boarding Group 89 at the 2pm check-in. We got called at 640pm. Your line was way shorter. We waited an hr in line. Worth every minute though. Best experience in all the Parks. I rode it on December 6th last yr. Blew my mind!!!

I LOVE this attraction! Indy used to be my fav but Rise side kicked it out of the top spot. My favorite thing is watching people go on it for the first time. Nothing like it. This was so fun to watch!! It’s not just an attraction, it’s an experience.

Chris, If you go back to Batuu, there are challenges you can take up with your WDW Play app. There are interactive features of some of the props as you go through the queue and help Po get maps to the Rebels or help the First Order infiltrate the Rebel base. :)

I even had cast Members interested in seeing what happens when I was trying to help the Rebels in Rise of the Resistance since so few people will actually take up the challenge. However, it does take up time. If you spend the time to finish challenges, you will likely miss some rides or shows. On the other hand, if you are already waiting in a long line, it makes it more interesting. You can even use the Play app to translate phrases around Batuu and even have some objects react when you "hack" into the computer system. Maybe Chriss will be able to go back to Batuu and try some of the hacks and challenges. :)
I just recently rode this ride and completely understand how you feel. This is an awesome ride. It was so well done. Disney did it really well. Thanks for always being entertaining and funny. You so great!

I went to Disney world when this ride opened, And to say its an experience is an understatement. I am a Star Wars fan and I was geeking out when I went in. Went with friends and i literally had tears of joy when I was walking out. It was such a great experience

This brings back memories of riding ROTR. I miss going to Disneyland and going on the rides. I was lucky enough to have been able to ride it twice before Disneyland had to close. You are so lucky Chris to be able to ride ROTR at Disney World. I really hope that Disneyland can open up soon.

Before the Disneyland ROTR opened, CM's were given the opportunity to ride during the test and adjust phase. I only rode it 3 times. I know others that rode more, lol. During CM preview, we were allowed to take 1 person. I chose the only person whom I know is the NO. 1 Star Wars fan, my wonderful sister. When the doors opened into the Star Destroyer hanger, she was in complete awe! She cried, I couldn't have chosen a better person to fully appreciate the magnitude of our Imagineers accomplishment! I know how you felt when you were speechless. Thank you for your video and honest reaction. Love and prayers to all Cast Members!

Rode it opening day, I too had a loss for words after first time riding it. It was like, what just happened? Not just a ride, it’s an experience.

I just went to Disneyland on Friday my first time since the Star Wars Galaxies opened. I was mesmerized by the area and this ride is the BOMB. I too felt very emotional when I was on it.

It took us 2 days to get the boarding pass. Finally got Boarding Group 89 at the 2pm check-in. We got called at 640pm. Your line was way shorter. We waited an hr in line. Worth every minute though. Best experience in all the Parks. I rode it on December 6th last yr. Blew my mind!!!

I LOVE this attraction! Indy used to be my fav but Rise side kicked it out of the top spot. My favorite thing is watching people go on it for the first time. Nothing like it. This was so fun to watch!! It’s not just an attraction, it’s an experience.

If you go back to Batuu, there are challenges you can take up with your WDW Play app. There are interactive features of some of the props as you go through the queue and help Po get maps to the Rebels or help the First Order infiltrate the Rebel base. :)
👆this what I would Love a video about. We struggled understanding how to do this on our last trip to Disney.
@@heatherbraley626 Actually it is really fun. I even had cast Members interested in seeing what happens when I was trying to help the Rebels in Rise of the Resistance since so few people will actually take up the challenge. However, it does take up time. If you spend the time to finish challenges, you will likely miss some rides or shows. On the other hand, if you are already waiting in a long line, it makes it more interesting. You can even use the Play app to translate phrases around Batuu and even have some objects react when you "hack" into the computer system. Maybe Chriss will be able to go back to Batuu and try some of the hacks and challenges. :)

I just recently rode this ride and completely understand how you feel. This is an awesome ride. It was so well done. Disney did it really well. Thanks for always being entertaining and funny. You so great!
Chris, while nothing beats the in-person experience, watching this video of your first ride is an absolute blast (and it didn't bother me at all to wait in the queue while sitting in my recliner).

This is legit one of the best RotR videos I have seen! Idk of it was bc of the good quality, or just the fun giggles and excitement the whole time.
I went to Disney world when this ride opened, And to say its an experience is an understatement. I am a Star Wars fan and I was geeking out when I went in. Went with friends and i literally had tears of joy when I was walking out. It was such a great experience

ok, so I kept seeing the picture pop up and i was thinking the ride broke down ... I finallyyyyyyy watched it last night and we must be the same age. The way you talk about it, I fully get it. YOUR REACTION HAD ME ON THE VERGE OF TEARS THE ENTIRE TIME. Empire is also my fave. The at ats are also MY FAVE. Your reaction is SO GENUINE AND SO SWEET AND SO AMAZING, IM SO GLAD YOU FILMED IT. This brings back memories of riding ROTR. I miss going to Disneyland and going on the rides. I was lucky enough to have been able to ride it twice before Disneyland had to close. You are so lucky Chris to be able to ride ROTR at Disney World. I really hope that Disneyland can open up soon.

Before the Disneyland ROTR opened, CM's were given the opportunity to ride during the test and adjust phase. I only rode it 3 times. I know others that rode more, lol. During CM preview, we were allowed to take 1 person. I chose the only person whom I know is the NO. 1 Star Wars fan, my wonderful sister. When the doors opened into the Star Destroyer hanger, she was in complete awe! She cried, I couldn't have chosen a better person to fully appreciate the magnitude of our Imagineers accomplishment! I know how you felt when you were speechless. Thank you for your video and honest reaction. Love and prayers to all Cast Members!
