What do you think about Akanji and Posh? Akanji is basically guaranteed 4 points : 90 minutes, and at least 6 ball rec (23 total!). Italy haven't looked great going forward, so potentially also a clean sheet, as well as a potential MOTM for Akanji. He is also a somewhat differential with 9% ownership. In addition, many people predict this to be a tight game, thus a decent chance for overtime, which is more time for Akanji to farm ball recoveries. 16 points and no clean sheet says the most, and shows his potential. Posh (only 4,5 million) is the defender with the most shots in opposition box, 4th for touches inside oppostion box, and 5th for passes received in the final third, in the group stage. Austria were on of the teams that attempted the most crosses in the group stage with 40, further backing Posh as a pick. In addition he's also a menace at ball recoveries (19!), and has played every minute of the tournament. Another interesting thing is that Austria smashed Turkey 6 - 1 a couple of months ago. Considering all this and that Austria are in great form, and playing a rather defensively weak Turkey, without their main man Calhanoglu, he could be a hidden gem. He is also a super differential with only 1% ownership. I think a good strategy would be to go 3 solid defenders with hig probability of a clean sheet, for example Guehi, Carvajal, and Cancelo, and punt on Akanji and Posh.
@@19cnz WIlliams, Pedri, Bruno, Bernardo, and Sabitzer. Bruno is a kind of nobrainer I also thought it was sensible to go double Spain in midfield rather than for example defense. This is because they are predicted to score the most goals in the round of 16, rested almost their whole first squad in match day 3, Georgia's a bit shaky at the back despite the god Mamardashvili, and they both play in offensive positions. As a Swiss I just have to have Akanji in my lineup, combo Xhaka and Bastoni would be possible too... I'm still torn between Gündo and Musiala...
i think Kane over morata for the extra 2.5 mil is nationalism at its peak haha. Gives you so much more room for the rest of the team, and morata has looked much better, and has a much better fixture. I think for the value difference, its not close. Would let you go from Baumgartner to Musiala and saka to bellingham if you want (that is my exact team)
I have the money for Saka to Bellingham already. So then it's Kane + Baumgartner vs Morata + Musiala, bearing in mind Baumgartner gives me a captain on final day.
If you have WC remaining. Surely the strategy is to be agressive and attack the better fixtures, and load-up on Spain & Portugal. Then if the QF looks ugly, reduce the numbers, and spread the teams out abit, preferably with FT's. Then WC in the Semi's with the knowledge of who wins the tricky QF's?
Sorry, I noticed after i commented. It'll be fairly differential to have ×3 defenders from both Portugal & Spain for example. If they both get a Clean Sheet. That could mean gains vs. teams spreading more, and selecting England and Germany defenders. Then when they likely run into Germany and France in the QF's. You've got 3 free transfers, to go for the defences, like England, on the 'easier' side of the draw.

Taking only 3 teams in defence is concerning. You have to bench one of those players minimum. You should be taking a 4 team to give you an out if any on the 3 fail to deliver a clean sheet. Denmark finished second in a terrible group. Schlotterbeck is fine and Rudiger is back in training Alternatives to Germany could be Netherlands, Austria, Switzerland, Italy.
