i always wondered how everytime Sal hung out with Larry in his room, Larry always had Sal's dreams incorporated in his paintings. Sometimes, it made sense that he probably painted those things after Sal told him about it but there were times were he already had those paintings. Especially when the first time Sally ever goes to Larry's room.
because he is in therapy then that is him recalling the memories so those paintings weren't actually there its just his brain putting them there when he's recalling the memories
Last month, my kid showed me a playthrough of this game. After watching Franbo and Little Misfortune, I'm so glad to find indie games that are willing to work through trauma. Great video. Subscribed 🫶🏾
You’re not the first person to recommend The Cat Lady and the other games in that series! I’m captivated by the artwork of those games so they’re definitely in my queue. Thank you for the recommendation!
I was almost 9 when this game came out. I'm 16 now. I watched my first playthrough of it when I was 10 but didn't pay attention much and forgot about it for years, only revisiting it age at 12 briefly and never understood the game completely. Yesterday, I re-disvovered it. God, I love it. I've always resonated with Sal (despite not being disfigured) but man... I need to buy the actual game. Sally Face truly is timeless and resonates with every generation it comes across. Also, I realized this: Sal survived a D.O.G. attack.
I LOVE this game so insanely much!!! I even bought (preordered) the pop figure back when it was released years ago (the only pop figure I own)!! This game is stunningly underrated
Sally face for me is a game that will never be beaten. I just cant seem to find a game that does what sally face done for me. Its such a damn good game.
Loved it. The way you used the elevator was amazing, I like the research on this game’s creation, and the character analysis. Recommend next game: What Remains of Edith Finch There is already a ton of analysis videos explaining the lore, but it is a great game that reminds me of Sally Face. You can probably find a new way to look at that game’s character’s mindsets separate from lore.
Thank you for your kind words and thoughtful comments as always! You’re not the first person to recommend Edith Finch either, so I appreciate you mentioning it. Was there anything specific about the game or characters that you would like to see explored?
@@phatmidnight Please explore the difficulties in facing a horrible realities and the wasted life lost in clinging to a lie. And the one so consumed with creating a grand legacy as some kind of larger than life hero who doom everyone around them with their lies. 2 + 2 = 4 unless someone you should be able trust tells you that 2 + 2 = 5. The feeling of being unable to trust your very memories. The dullness of the real world and its horrors that make liars and their lies so addictive even if they are both nightmares. It’s not foolishness or stupidity that keeps their victims coming back. Sometimes it is the addiction to a lie -
I LOVED and was so obsessed with this game back when it was popular in 2019. i really missed seeing fan content of it so its so great to see that its somewhat surging in popularity again. does anyone know why this is?
I just know quite a few folks commented on other videos that I should play this game, not sure why there is a surge in popularity again but I’m all for it!
I practically eat Soulsborne and Funger lore videos, and try to pick apart Deltarune and Little Nightmares lore for fun, but holy CRAP is this game confusing.
Nothing to see here. 6:47 Larry knew who Dr. Enon was without being told. How did he know? He did have a criminal record so they could have met in therapy. But I have a new guess Jim was homeless until he met Lisa. He killed everyone on floor five and flooded it to cover his tracks. Jim tried to be good for Lisa and Larry, but he couldn’t stop. He had the urge to murder kids. He went after Sal who lived thanks to his mom. Jim took the name Enon because he was the eye of security cameras. He went to school and became a police shrink. The hair on his head is a wig, the glasses hid his face- but Dr. Enon and Jim Johnson have the same nose and they would have the same chin and body if Jim lost weight. The nose is the same. I compared them. Jim/Enon could have been Terraces’ shrink. He could have had access to Larry when his son was in the criminal justice system. Guess: I think Todd might have been busted for having his parents drugs and that is why he hated the garden and would have needed a place to stay - he never would have been accepted into university and felt his life was over. He would have met Enon in the system. I think Larry pushed Jim out of the tree house. I think Jim did not die but he had a broken neck and that is why when he showed up in court he had lost weight. In the last chapter, Sal finds him attached to purple tubes. They are medical tubes that he needs to live after the fall. The tubes are attached to the head, neck, and spine - the injury matches Dr. Enon’s neck injury. Jim is in the same position as Sal’s mother was once in. He is hospitalized in a house and confined to a room - only alive due to the tubes. Karma.
One more guess at a secret If Jim was out becoming a shiny then who is the crazy homeless guy on the fifth floor? Why did he warn Sally? That is Luke. Luke did not kill himself. He was a prisoner. Sal spoke to Luke in the bathroom not Megan. Luke might have even mimicked his daughter’s voice in his despair. Luke was what Ash nearly became- Jim killed everyone, flooded the floor and blamed his victim and prisoner. Luke warned Sal because Sal gave him comfort in his last years. That is why Megan is important and who Sal was talking to in that bathroom.
@@phatmidnightThanks. I’ll add a little more about the ending even if it is shaky. I’ll go for it since your interested. Chapter 5 is Sal vs Jim. Jim has to use his mind games because his body cannot move and there is no one left to take care of him. He tries to take control of Sal, but Sal refuses to join him. I don’t think Sal is dead. Traumatized from the mind games? Yes, but he is alive and he has a chance to heal but it will take work. And that is how I made sense of the game. It is at an end for now.
14:00 who is in the photograph shown here? I thought it was Larry's parents at first, but Larry's dad is bald so it kinda looks like Larry himself... Who is Larry kissing?!? It kinda looks like sal but I thought they rejected the ship when they made them step brothers? I'm confused 😂
Larry and Sal are watching a romance movie in this scene, so the kissing characters are from the movie. Sal comments on how emotional Larry is getting because he is so into the movie

i don’t think there’s anything done with puzzle box but that could be just me. another thing is that i don’t think ash ever comes to town and entire thing between larrys death and showing up on the roof was skipped
I wonder if it has to do with XBOX placing restrictions on certain scenes though I don’t think that’s the case. Or maybe some scenes couldn’t port correctly over to console but can’t confirm
Another mystery maybe solved In Biblical Baby Names the meaning of the name Enon is: Cloud, mass of darkness, fountain, eye. Enon is the darkness, the all seeing eye watching, and he is the foundation. If going by the supernatural stuff - that explains why he couldn’t die. If going by my everything has a rational explanation theory then that explains so much more.
I kind of find it unfair there is only a website for women whose husband's abandoned them sorry. Sexist also yes it is nice to impower women but some men don't have anyone after or it hit them harder than their spouse.
I’m not sure if there is a resource like that for men, but the woman who started the website was abandoned by her husband in the same way so maybe that’s why she made the site, she can speak to abandoned women as an abandoned woman herself.
I would agree if it was anything official or government sanctioned but it's not. It was started by a woman whose husband abandoned her. And while it would be nice to make it for everyone it's the reality that different gender specific struggles arise because of different gender roles and societal norms. I do not wanna trample on men's issues however male right activists often like to trample on resources for women instead of creating their own it's very weird to see men not using the tools they have to advocate for themselves then complain when women do.
How about instead of hating on women, you do something to change it? That website was made by women who had been left by their husbands. It's not a government or charity. It's very unnecessary to be like that. If it seems unfair, just remember men made the system we live in. Women should not start sources or funds for men. That should be started by the men. Just like how things for women and awareness are made by other women.
