    Lovely, extremely interesting as Zylitol sweetener is made from birch and this is good stuff to stop bad bacteria from thriving......this is probably similiar but requires much less processing. Someone else asked do you boil it or steep it? it would be good to know.

      Make use of Oak Bark to treat Diarrhea and cicatrization
      Astringent, oak is of great help in cases of diarrhea. It promotes the healing of certain wounds (For example Weeping Eczema or chapped skin )

    this is so interesting I will try it very soon! Is this comparable to Chaga as far as medicinal benefits? We love Zylatol and were amazed it comes from birch,too. We have plenty of dried 'BOB', bracket on birch that we've dried and make tea, too. Thank you so much for this and I can't wait to learn more from Bertha Skye.

    Thank you very much for this interesting information; I have some questions though. Can children drink it? And what about dosage; a glass that size, is that a single serving? And how frequently can it be taken? Are there any side effects?

    • @getagecko
      @getagecko 3 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Yes it is safe for children, the dosage for adults is 5-6 shavings per cup and basically use as needed. For children the same dose but 1 cup spaced over a day.

      The active ingredient in the bark is salicin that is same as aspirin. Aspirin has its downsides so do your research before administering much of it.

      Would be the yellow birch. If you smell wintergreen on the small end of branches when you break it off smell or chew it a d if its wintergreen smell/taste you use it, also can boil twigs leaves and buds, they make soda from this also birch beer soda its my favorite.also the maine one to find is tge sweet birch aka black birch.. thats the better one that she holds.
