In this video, we’ll be focusing our travels along the German side where we spent a couple of days enjoying what the destination has to offer.
We’ll first take you on a foodie biking tour departing from Radolfzell and touring the Höri Peninsula where we’ll try all sorts of fresh seasonal foods. We’ll spend a bit of time exploring the city of Konstanz on foot. We’ll then hop on a ferry and cross Lake Constance from west to east, enjoying the scenery along the way. Plus, when we arrive in Lindau, we’ll take you on a self-guided wine tour where we’ll hike and enjoy a picnic in a vineyard.

We live in Winterthur Zurich Switzerland, and we Loooove Konstanz. We always go there for shopping, groceries (much less expensive then CH) and for the great restaurants.. The Bodensee is Amazing. We've been in so many cities, you both need to come back to visit Meersburg, and Mainau Insel. Two amazing destinations. Congratulations for the great video Samuel and Audrey.
Oh, that's so cool! So Lake Constance is your very own backyard. Meersburg is actually one of the places that caught our eye on the ferry ride across the Lake. It looked amazing! I feel like we could easily spend a week taking the ferry from one town to the next! 😊✨
@@samuelandaudrey The Pfahlbauten in Unteruhldingen (near Meersburg) is an open-air museum about the Stone and Bronze Age settlements at Lake Constance. At the harbour, go to the Seehof Restaurant! In the same village there is the Auto&Traktor Museum - very interesting and with a good restaurant.
I lived in Konstanz and was born close to Lindau and I love seeing people loving the area that I tend to find quite boring yet pretty 😄😍

Thank you for this video! You just solved a years-long family dilemma. :D Pre-pan we started learning German as a family so we could take a trip, but we could never decide exactly where to go. As a once in a lifetime sort of trip, without unlimited funds or time, we weren't sure if we should go to Germany, Austria, or Switzerland and how to navigate all of the travel and lose minimal time. Enter you two with the answer! Why not have it all in 1 place? It looks so charming and beautiful, we now all agree on where we want to go and are very excited to plan it together! Vielen Dank!

Also you should visit Unteruhldingen and visit the prehistoric dwelling museum. A visit to Friedrichshafen is also nice to visit the Zeppelin museum. Bregenz in Austria is beautiful with it floating stage and Rheinfalls in Switzerland is beautiful

Very nice video, guys, despite the weather. You're gonna think I'm a museum bug, but YOU ARE SO CLOSE TO Friedrichshafen, where COUNT VON ZEPPELIN had his workshop where he built all those incredibie dirigible TURN INTO A MUSEUM. It's only 32 minutes away by train from Lindau's train station (26 km).
Friedrichshafen: Zeppelin, Maybach (now MTU), Wankel (the Motor), Porsche (the Traktor), Dornier (famous seaplanes) 🙋♂
I wish we'd had more time because the zeppelin museum would have been a really cool stop! I've always been fascinated by footage of the Trans-Atlantic zeppelin journeys from Europe to South America. What a time to travel that was!

Amazing guys. 3 countries all around one lake! I loved your vineyard picnic trail, all by yourselves, no guide, at your pace. This is the type of tour I prefer. The cheese all covered by spices and FLOWERS!!! The orchard landscape, so saxon perfect 👌

That looked fantastic. I agree, where do you get those backpacks???? My Bagging of the Scottish Munros will be made easier with that excellent accessory. It amazes me, you would never think of visiting a region, but the beauty and diversity is amazing.
Flower island is the most beautiful place on lake Constance
Hey I was at these same spots some 20 something years ago. Beautiful area to hang out in to enjoy the nature and nice German towns. Right now I'm in Riga, Latvia doing some work and visiting friends who moved here from my home town. Today we visited their house that they are refurbishing and it reminded me of the work you two are doing in Argentina. Anyways have fun in Austria and I can't wait for the next video.

as a resident since 75 years i must say that you couldn't have done better. You got even the architectual styles perfectly right, better than most of te people living here. The only mistakes were that you didn´t take enough time, missed the Reichenau with the churches of the 10th century and neglected the red wine which is fine too. ❤

Ahhh, we did not! Did we miss out? I bet the views are amazing...though then again, we had A LOT of rain!! 😅
@@samuelandaudrey the views are fantastic from the top of Pfänder mountain above Bregenz - at least on a sunny day ;-) There is a cable car up there but you can also hike up to the top.
You can see about 240 alpine peaks and have a great view over Lake Constance. Bregenz is also known for wonderful sunsets.
I think you have to come back! ;-)
I totally agree with frisco1968, you should come back, hopefully with better weather, to explore the Austrian and Swiss side of Lake Constance! I'll have to send you photos from the Pfaender mountain overlooking the Lake and the surrounding mountains and valleys in Austria, Germany and Switzerland. There's a lot to explore. Looking forward to your next adventures!
We're on the Austria side 12 years ago and the German side July 2022. Being able to see all 3 countries is memorable experience. Seeing Bodensee from Italy and Austria gives you different perspectives - and food experience.

I've gone 2 times around the lake with bicycle, it's a wonderfull trip. Used a company called Radweg Reisen, booked a tour where one rented the bike, hotels were arranged, including transport of bags and more you could not fit on the bike. 4-5days

We (a German couple) visited Lake Constance (or as we say the Bodensee) this year in July. At this time it was very warm with temperatures between 30 and 37 degrees Celsius. But the lake was amazing in summer. We stayed in a small hotel called "Boutique Hotel Drei Stuben" just in the centre of the lovely town Meersburg. It was very nice and charming. As you said in the video. There are so many nice places to discover. For your next time, set the Island Mainau on your list. It is a MUST!

Hello, what villages would you recommend to stay in around the lake? I'm looking to bike 50 KMS a day and know nothing about that beautiful lake. I'm hoping to stay in small villages. Thanks for any help you can provide.All the best
@@SloMo2723 the prettiest towns I can think of would be Meersburg and Langenargen, while more interesting cities would be Friedrichshafen, Bregenz and Konstanz. Throughout the entire lake you'll find lovely little towns though!

Continued: There are no full scale dirigibles in the museum. Besides, the city is lovely for what I can see in Google Maps. And it has a port so I guess there might be a way to go there by boat.
My co-watching mother wants you to go to the Flower Island Mainau.

What I find very interessting is that there is no border in lake constance. The lake is managed by all three countries together which is called a condomonium and that for a long time now. And, no fight, no war about what belogs to whom. Where do you find that nowadays?
