    I've watched many of yr vid's without realizing, you make it lots easier to understand but I'll still need to come back to remember the Japanese names. Sitting here outside at night 'pond is lit' and you've told me which of my Koi are beautiful & which are rubbish but I rescued them & Yes, some have personalities 💕! Thnx for yr info 😁

    Thank you for posting this. NOTE, people, no long fin koi anywhere here. That's an American thing. My 'Shamoo' is now 22 years old in my pond. He boldly swims on top of the other fish at chow time. I feed pasta, rice, carrots, peas, cheerios, worms, (and quality koi food), they'll eat anything. He loves water melon. I absolutely love koi.

    • @Aboutkoi

      Also these 'long fin koi' are probably Japanese. There are only two breeders in Japan that breed with these. It are Yamazaki and Suda.

    Very informative video. Thanks for taking the time to put this together. However - are you familiar with the Ginga variety? I think they are just another varient of the Kujaku but am having difficulty finding our for sure.

    • @Aboutkoi
      @Aboutkoi  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks for your comment. That's a really interesting topic actually. Many people do say there is no difference between Beni Ginga (So Ginga with red) and Kujaku. This is kind of true, as there is almost no difference. Ginga is a crossing between Kujaku and Hajiro. That results, if you ask me, in a Kujaku with dark scales. So the Ginga, I think you are correct, can be seen as a Kujaku but darker colour.

    Btw i have a question is there a koi fish called "hi karashigoi"? Hi means red btw cuz the reason why i ask this cuz once i open youtube in a earlier day the title of that dude's video is "Beautiful 81cm super red karashigoi" and i thought it was benegoi since its red so that got me confused i hope u can help me.

    • @Aboutkoi
      @Aboutkoi  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi there, I woul dsay 'Hi Karashigoi' is not a thing. That would be a Benigoi in my opinion.
      But I have to say, indeed a lot of 'red karashigoi' and 'super red karashigoi' are passing by. I'm not really familiair with them, also a bit confusing to me. Since 'Karashi' actually means musterd when translated from Japanese. And I have not seen red mustard before. I think it's a European thing to call it 'super red' and 'red'. Can't imagina a breeder would call them like that: but a nice thing to ask a breeder in japan itself! I'll surely ask it to them during my next visit

    • @skillzhubgd2490

      @@Aboutkoi oh ok when u visit Japan pls ask them ok cuz it’s a bit confusing for me and the moment I saw the “hi” karashigoi on TH-cam I was like is this fake? Cuz the only plain red koi I know is benegoi which is kinda making me confused but I hope that if u come to japan I hope u can ask them to see if the “hi” karashigoi is real or not. Anyways Thank You for your response mate.

    I can't see the difference between karashigoi and chaoi.

    • @Aboutkoi
      @Aboutkoi  3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Karashigoi is more yellowish colour then a Chagoi. Chagoi usually is light green/olive colour or brown up to dark chocolate brown. Also if you take a look at the body posture, you can see the a Chagoi usually has a more flat/broader nose. A Karashigoi has a more pointed nose.
