I love RE motorcycles but I'm not a fanboy.
Having said that, I would like to address a few comments here attempting to diss RE through Aerox.
First of all, RE and Aerox are different classes apart. RE is a lifestyle product, a retro motorcycle, a geared motorcycle and meant for easy cruising. The new engine is doing wonders in terms of refinement and NVH.
The Aerox, on the other hand, is a gearless machine, a scooter, a moto-scooter (step-through), a power machine, ideally meant for city commutes and not at all for cruising. So these two machines have no comparison at all. If someone really wanted to compare RE with Yamaha, then an ideal competitor would've been FZ250.
All those who are dissing RE in favour of Aerox should remember that the Aerox is not a flawless machine and it has its own shortcomings. The most common complaint is regarding the rear suspension. Yamaha was providing a better rear suspension as an accessory for Rs 17000 but it is no longer available. The mirrors are very shaky and visibility is poor. The footwell space is limited, and does not extend to the apron, unlike the Burgman Street and Aprilia SXR. Fit and finish is not up to the mark (fuel lid is loose, side stand issues). Yamaha could've provided better features like brake lock, navigation, keyless start, etc to keep the product updated with the market.
I do love the Aerox, but the above issues are preventing me from actually buying one.
Finally, remember that RE competitors have not done well. The Dominar, despite being a better product than RE, did poorly in the market and is now on the verge of being discontinued by Bajaj. The Honda CB 350, though a good product, is doing less than 1% of RE's business. So it might not be a good idea to pit the Aerox against the RE.
Those who are mocking RE calling it slows lazy don't know damn about physics. RE uses heavy crank to give better tractability (that's what make engine to lugging at lower speed on higher gear), smooth power delivery and thumping sound but on a downside it takes a toll on acceleration due to high inertia resist the engine to revv up quickly. Multi cylinder engines don't have such compromises, they can be faster at same time very tractable also smoother, efficient and reliable.

While I knew Aerox would win, suprising the Aprilia is keeping up at low speeds,
I have sxr160 and aerox both. Aerox feels alot punchy even in low end , which I definitelymiss in sxr 160. It takes time to gather pace but in this video the Aprilia kept up quite well towards the beginning.suprsed tbh
Aerox uses a very mileage oriented tune of the CVT with heavier 13gm rollers, whereas SR160 uses lighter 9gm rollers which give a better acceleration initially but that is also the reason for the Aprilia’s poor fuel efficiency.
Better low end for the Aprilia. Aerox picks up mid and top and that’s why it moves past easily

@@vroombk That is just how the CVT is tuned on the Aerox. If you get lighter rollers, stiffer clutch and contra spring, it will launch more aggressively and will beat the Aprila from launch itself

Time to redo this drag with the 2023 Aprilia SR 160. It now makes 13.44nm of torque, only marginally lesser than the Aerox.
Where is this information specified ?
Aprilia sr is faster I guess but it used to get lock at 100kmph speed and to reach 100 speed you need to wait .. that's the only defect it has ... Does anyone know how to free your Aprilia Sr 150 speed.. 🤔
Aprilia is faster in 0-40...i think aerox is going ahead bcs of the vva.

@@rishabsharma9122 A little background, own an access 125, a Aprilia sxr 160 and aerox 155. Reason for 3 scooter is dad is very strictly against bikes. Coming to your question, if you can compromise on 1. Front foot rest space 2. Ride comfort then it is an absolutely brilliant scooter to live with. No vibrations. extremely good fuel efficiency if you can do the impossible of keeping speed in between 50-60. No issues whatsoever with ownership .No vibrations. Always started with one click of start. However I did face a severe battery drain issue where battery died, later found out it was due to the Bluetooth module which I have disconnected and never faced the issue again.Also ride quality is rock hard , even with pillion , rear suspension is non existent. Also, i feel the brakes are not that strong , my Aprilia brakes are much better. Headlight is not that strong for highway use. Mirrors could be better,but aftermarket options available. The biggest issue with this scooter will be the constant urge to ring open the throttle, the mid range pull when vva activates is so addictive! Hope this helps
@@itsgodzagain I have upgraded the suspension to the Indonesia spec ones and got a bigger 260mm brake disc. Both the issues you mentioned are solved with aftermarket parts

Reality Check!!!
As on now September 24, 2023. Still more than a year since launch, There is availability issue and 6-7 months waiting period on Aerox 155 😂. Not only that due to this shortage, as well as long waiting the price has also shot up a lot more. In Mumbai I was quoted 1.79 😂. So yeah, in reality, Aprilia is your only option, unless you are reallllly into Yamaha, want to spend that high for lesser practicality and yet wait so long eventually bumping price again.
