@@AngieCarr To be fair, the original one was a mix of Outworlder and Netherrealm demons. So he’s more capable of sympathy here since he’s mainly just an Outworlder shunned due to his affliction.
Literally everyone in this timeline is so chill and accepting of eachother and it is so refreshing. In the old timeline Baraka would just get shanked by Mileena and nothing would change.

In MK11 and MK1, they've started doing Baraka justice. I'm glad. Rather than being Shao Khan's goon, he is now doing his best as a leader for a cursed people. This lets him see reason and negotiation instead of just "RAAAAAHHH EAT ALL EARTHREALMERS"
So no real happy ending for Baraka? Continued suffering from a deleterious disease. Meh, that's life. Always wants to shaft you, then ask why you're not smiling.
When Baraka reverted into his human self, these might be not permanent form as the cure might be unable to treat the older tarkat but he might be able to use it as a temporary form to reconnect the people who got Tarkat with the entire outworld. He also can use this form to protect himself and his loved ones as Mileena uses her Tarkat disease to empower herself rather than fallen deep from the raging disease.
Liu Kang resets the timeline. He rebooted the entire Tarkat race and just turned it into and infectious disease. So now you get this Baraka. Also the previous timeline Barakas weren't necessarily evil. Just working for whoever is in charge so he can provide for his tribe.
Baraka richly deserves this honor.
Agreed Baraka is such a badass character hes been done dirty so many times i feel its nice that Mk 1 gave him and many others a nice change of pace

I love how a lot of arcade endings are connected somehow, which makes playing mutiple arcade runs good content wise.
All of them are one story, if you'll watch carefully :) What we see in Baraka ending, we can also find in Mileena's, just with her POV.

Baraka got a huge glow-up narratively in MK1, and I'm down and here for it.
He got a glow up phisically as well, He's way more badass-looking than before
The more I hear about Baraka’s misfortune, the more I feel sorry for the poor dude. NRS did such a great job in making him a sympathetic character.

Went from hating Baraka ALWAYS to genuinely loving him. What a fantastic turnaround for a jobber-Esque character.
